No events going on when we went but we were looking forward to do the tasting. The potholes leading to the distillery was a road at some point and I doubt the County will ever pave it so be prepared for a bumpy ride, our designated driver was good at it and we were giving her a hard time about almost needing a four wheel or a rental car. Plenty of parking, there was only one other couple on their way out when we got in the building, you walk in to the gift shop where they have a ton of merchandise. Don't miss the history room on the right, very informative place about the process and how the business started by a family We paid 10 each for the tasting of more than a dozen kinds of vodka, they must have a chemist to come up with so many different flavors, my favorites were the coconut and the peach, they only give you about a quarter of an ounce each My friends bought a bottle of Peach for me and I got another of sweet tea, for those of you that don't know Summerville is the World Capital of Sweet Tea regardless what other southerners will say After the tour we purchase even more stuff in the gift shop Will go back with outoftowners
I appreciate the venue being available for a variety of acts. They have applied the bare minimum to the venue and ambiance though. It's essentially a big lot with little grace. No tents/shade, porta-potties, & buggy. There is such potential to make this a venue with thought. If you go remember your sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray, lawn chairs, & blanket. I have never had food here but had a spicy margaritas. It was ok but tasted light and sweet instead of spicy. They have NA options as well. The bar tender was rude when I asked for salt (twice).
This is a nice distillery. They have plenty of outdoor space and inside is large too. They have a store in the front entrance. Also, they have food trucks, and when we came, there was a craft show with vendor tents. In the back area, I ordered the apple strudel drink, which was delicious. It tasted like a liquidfied apple strudel. My 2nd drink was so so. It was the Firefly Old Fashioned. It was wayyyyyy to heavy on the whiskey. It's definitely worth visiting, though.
I've frequented firefly before but never done the liquor tasting! I enjoyed my time learning about liquor of the distillery with great details from my guide ! She was knowledgeable and fun! Some of the liquor I didn't like and she was able to substitute for better flavors . The pina colada slushie was good! Lots of room inside and out! Definitely will be back soon.
Great venue. Space for everyone. It's a place you can feel safe at going to, during and from. Parking is limited. But there are places along the road if you don't get there early enough to park on their free lot. Now the businesses that surround the distillery charge to park. And it's PRICEY! Concert ticket prices... $60 to park is a lot so come early... Get some parking. Grab some grub and settle in for a good time with gii eats and drinks. If you're lucky you'll catch a breeze coming off the creek! Very handicapped friendly to boot!
My coworker recommended I check out Firefly Distillery, and it was a great recommendation! I've never been to a distillery before, so seeing the process was very cool. My friends and I did the tasting event, where we tried different samples of the liquor they sell. Most of it was very strong, with samples including different moonshine, vodka, and whiskey flavors! My favorite was the Firefly sweet tea whiskey, which was easy to drink for me since I like sweeter drinks. The experience itself was very fun, and the host of the event did a great job keeping us entertained while explaining the background of each drink sample to us. The tasting event itself is like a big group event, so you will be in a room with other people, but you'll still have your separate sections per group. After the tasting event, we tried the cocktails at the bar and they were very delicious and strong! Luckily they have an outdoor area, and at the time we were outside there also was live music. We sat around until we were good to drive back, drink responsibly because the liquor was very strong!! Overall, the experience was fun and I'd recommend trying it out if you're visiting the Charleston area!
The Firefly Distillery is an amazing venue!! Seeing outdoor concerts is always amazing! The food trucks had gluten free options. :) Everyone always has a good time! The stage and the background visuals are always amazing! The staff is very accommodating and greets you with a smile. There are many gluten free beverages too. :)
This is an amazing space!! There is a beautiful outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy drinks. There's a lawn that is also used for events like concerts. My husband and I came for a tasting, but it was full, so we just had a cocktail instead. The park circle punch was delicious. It had fruit punch and coconut moonshine in it. It was perfectly fruity. My husband also liked his drink as well. There is a lot to see here and there's also a really nice gift shop. Everyone we talked to here was so friendly. We got to talking to the women at the gift shop who also happened to be teachers like my husband and I. Overall I highly recommend checking this place out!
Firefly Distillery is a ball of fun! My coworkers and I did a ladies night several months ago and had the best time sampling vodkas, moonshine, and whiskey. There's a great storefront as well plus plenty of spirits in stock to get some to-go or gift for others. I love the field area as well, during the summer they host concerts and festivals. The tasting is a superb group bonding activity plus there's a bar area too if you want to enjoy a drink in a lowkey atmosphere. Through the Explore CHS Advent calendar, had to share this nugget of info! Get $10 off a Firefly tasting of six of our spirits with promo code ADVENT. Tastings are held every half hour on Monday-Friday from 12:00pm - 5:00pm and can be booked on our website using the promo code ADVENT. Promo code is valid until 12/31/23.
Go now and do the tasting! My husband and I have never been to a tasting where we liked EVERYTHING! We got two tastings and therefore tried everything offered. If you buy 6 bottles, you also get a discount. So of course we bought six. Went on a Saturday and the food truck + live music was a big plus. Would have loved to have tried the cocktails as they sounded ah-mazing but we were feeling a bit too buzzed to give them a go.
Enjoyed the tasting which includes 6 pours of assorted whiskey, moonshine or vodkas. The tour guide was friendly and the price per tasting $13.00 per person. The interior includes many liquors for sale along with merchandise like honey, jam, soaps, shirts ect. Great place to bring locals or out of town guests.

This has to be one of my favorite venues in the entire Tri-County area. Great sound comfortable seating and really never too crowded and always lots of food trucks to choose from.! but the beer can be improved upon as there were no IPAs. And the bad news is firefly distillery, and the people that own it sold out so there will be apartments there in 2027.! I am very displeased about this. It's such a great location just to be topped on by stupid apartments and more people in a crowded area. read more

We headed to Firefly Distillery for the Taste of New England and I was so impressed by the entire experience. The distillery itself is absolutely gorgeous, with a rustic and charming feel, plenty of parking, and a layout that makes it the perfect place to host an event. Even though all the vendors and some food trucks were unable to make it because of the snow, I still had the chance to enjoy a delicious lobster roll and creamy lobster mac and cheese that were incredible. The flavored moonshine was a real highlight and so much fun to try, and the strawberry lemonade was perfectly refreshing. I loved the cute little photo opp signs and all the fun swag. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the whole visit a warm and enjoyable experience. Scotty C, this would be the perfect spot to host a Yelp event or any special gathering for that matter! I am already planning to come back for a tour next time. The distillery itself is just stunning and there is so much to explore. Everything from the beautiful setting to the delicious drinks and food, to the friendly staff, makes Firefly Distillery a must-visit destination. read more

Took a trip to Firefly on a down day in Charleston. Beautiful distillery, nice atmosphere, large merchandise area, Numerous choices to try during tasting. My favorite was Sweet Tea, and Lemonade Vodka. When in the Charleston area, take some time away and visit Firefly you won't be disappointed. read more

This place has a lot of cool activities so make sure to check their schedule if you're really wanting a cool experience. We just went to pass time, not knowing about their vast event calendar. Such a cool place. Very clean. All the staff is super friendly. We did a taste tour, which I highly recommend. We ran out've time to stay for drinks but will definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again. read more
Great way to spend an hour or 2! Nice little tourist stop, a place to grab a bite to eat if you're a local. If you've never had firefly sweet tea vodka, it is worth a try and available in most grocery stores on the east coast. Their signature flavor tastes like it sounds: Southern Sweet tea but has a vodka kick. It's low enough proof (30ish?) You can drink on the rocks as if it was a strong cocktail by itself. $13 get you 6 samples out of 12 liquor varieties, plus a clean unused souvenir shot glass to take home. They gave me 10% military discount on the samples, as well as the whole bottles of liquor! The gift shop had interesting stuff including their own rum cake. And has a large outdoor venue and I think they have concerts about every month or so. If you ever in the North Charleston area, it is well worth the stop. read more

One word, wow. This has to be one of my favorite places! Wasn't sure what to expect as we ventured down the long dirt road, but to our surprise a huge welcoming venue with lots of parking! We did a tasting for $13, was well worth it for a unique tasting that includes a shot glass, 6 shots and lots of humor and history! The cocktail selection is amazing, bartenders super friendly and live music plus a food truck. Corn hole boards, and space outside to chill added to the experience. There was not much seating inside or outside by the food truck, but a bunch of tables in the front outside. The liquors were all amazing and truly unique, it was hard to choose which ones to purchase! Loved the vibe and the store with lots of things for sale. Only complaints were the large birthday or bachelorette parties who were absolutely obnoxious and rude! This place is a MUST try when in Charleston! read more
What a fun afternoon!! Highly recommend this event to anyone looking for a fun atmosphere and delicious oysters!! Grateful that they had indoor/ outdoor shucking stations. Although I don't believe they were anticipating the amount of people that came out with the weather service needed up being a bit slow on the refills. The drinks were strong and tasty.. the oysters were hot and steamy and the music was on point!! We really enjoyed the tasting and we actually got to try 12 different things because you can share. In 6 rounds of tastings there are 2 different choices so my husband and I got one of each and tried both! Great option! Huge gift shop too. The setup is beautiful inside and out!! A wonderful tasting at this distillery. All the staff were courteous, our tasting pourer was knowledgeable. Great southern mentality where you get to have the tasting before paying. Lots of merchandise offerings too. My husband, who is not a drinker, actually made it through all 6 tastings and really enjoyed it! Cheers! read more

Really cool place! I've loved Firefly since on Wadmalaw Island. Today is our first time visiting the new location. It's lovely. Tasting room, large bar, beautiful outdoor space, and great retail options. Great afternoon with friends! I had the Rum Rita. I didn't care for it. I probably should have written this BEFORE the 6 mini shot tasting...because after an array of coconut cake moonshine, lemonade vodka, coffee flavored rum, and bourbon...I am struggling to put my words together. Was there on Friday but they had a big concert and were closed but went back on Saturday to see them and loved it all and the tasting. Then a got a full case of liquor from them! was the best thing i did for my birthday because we drove all the way from Pa. read more
I really enjoyed firefly! I didn't get to experience everything they had to offer but I'll be back! They offer tours and I'd love to take one. Im not sure if they serve food there but they did have a food truck! I went during an outdoor event so I'm not sure about their daily operations. It's so spacious and beautiful there with a huge field! I see why they hold concerts here! The service is great, I had questions about the tour and the ladies in the store were able to answer all of them! I also ordered the blue bird cocktail while I was there and it is very refreshing and tastes like summer! My only question was about the plastic cups. I think they are cool for a souvenir but do they come with each drink? I'm a little concerned with the idea of all that plastic going in the trash. I was there for an event so I'm not sure if that's their normal cups. Great place, great experience! read more
What a great experience! For only $10 you can try 6 different drinks: vodka/rum/whiskey/bourbon. If you're with a partner then you can try 12 different items if you each pick a different one. At the end you get a souvenir shot glass. We ended up with a little buzz so we bought some snacks and sat out on the porch and watched the rain. There's plenty of green space for dogs and corn hole, etc. The staff was friendly and there's lots of cool merchandise in the gift shop. We ended up buying a bottle of the lemonade vodka which was so sour yet so delicious. This vodka tasting and the Charleston Tea Farm tour were the top two experiences of my visit and I will definitely return next time I'm in town. read more

I've been visiting Firefly for years. Began at the Wadmalaw location and now here at it's new location. I have celebrated many birthdays at both locations and introduced many friends to all they have to offer. I love the people who make all the action happen. Whether you're in the gift shop, your the facilities, or enjoying a tasting, it's the people working there that make your experience rememberable. They treat you like family. They are knowledgeable about their products and you can feel there passion when they are telling the history. Firefly is always hosting an event. I've come for blood drives, concerts, food truck events, and many other happenings. It's never a dull time at Firefly. Why? Because they keep you lit! Literally! read more
I visited the distillery for a festival event. Wow. It was a great event! They had so much outdoor space, and the stage was a great perk for music. The indoor decor was great, and I was able to see tours going on. I wish I could have taken one, but it was very busy. I had the lemonade sweet tea vodka with seltzer and lavender syrup. I forget the name of the drink. I liked it so much. I purchased a few bottles for the holidays. Sweat tea and lemonade vodka. I want to go back to try the other different flavors. If they have a festival or event, I do recommend you attend. I had so much fun! read more

I'm an amputate so I would love to bring a lawn chair to the venue to see Willie Nelson. Standing up for an hour and a half will be nearly impossible?
They allow only crazy creek chairs which have plastic in them and not metal for ground sitting. I had no idea initially what these were but you can Google them to see if you're able to use them or not.…

I believe so, but your seating area will be on the lawn, about 75 yards from the stage at least.

Right now they aren't doing tours they are doing tastings. It's by sections so they gather just enough limited groups and do a tasting all cups are plastic disposable and social distanced. Can still go to tasting room and can buy stuff. Tastings are…
Can you bring your child there?
Hi Henry, children are not allowed in the Tasting Room - that's 21+, but they are free to explore the grounds and gift shop. We have lots of animals and room to play!
