My husband and I took the hop-on hop-off trolley tour in Savannah and had a fantastic time! Our…read moredriver, Jared, was absolutely wonderful--he has such a great personality and was incredibly engaging throughout the ride. We chose to do the full loop first so we could hear Jared's complete narration before hopping off to explore. It was the perfect decision! He shared fascinating details about Savannah's rich history, along with some lesser-known fun facts that really brought the city to life. The tour sparked our excitement to visit spots we might have overlooked otherwise. The hop-on hop-off format worked brilliantly for us. Buses arrived quickly at each stop--we rarely waited long--and the stops are conveniently located near all the main tourist attractions. It got a bit crowded toward the end of the day (around 5 p.m.), and we occasionally had to wait for the next bus, but overall, it was seamless and stress-free. One small suggestion: I wish the tours ran a little later than 5 p.m. It would be ideal for avoiding parking hassles and enjoying dinner downtown--there are so many delicious restaurants to try! We highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an easy, informative, and enjoyable way to see Savannah. Thanks to Jared for making it memorable!

I love that he used pictures and signs to demonstrate some of the people and information that he was talking about. The bus was clean and comfortable. This tour wasn't what I thought it would be. I thought we would be going around to various Gullah…read moresites, getting off periodically, and snapping photos. But guide Alphonso Brown had other plans. And that's okay. The two hour tour is totally on the bus. There is no getting off and you're driving around town. It's not all Gullah based. You learn more about Black/African American history overall. But Alphonso is the real gem/lesson here. Alphonso speaks Gullah and he will teach you some too. And even when he is speaking "normally," or in "English," he still has a dialect that is musical and enthralling. For all those complaining about having to work so hard to follow him--get over it! It's LITERALLY the BEST part of this tour! You toddle around town in an air conditioned bus, listening to history, fun stories, and seeing a ton of Charleston architecture (including numbers Philip Simmons gates). Alphonso will tell you where to go, where not to go, what to do, what not to do. He does not mince words. I asked about renowned hero Robert Smalls and he told me Robert Smalls was no hero! He also said George Washington had children (and I've been taught the opposite of that my whole life, so I'm off go down rabbit holes). I loved listening to Mr. Brown's lyrical dialect. Learning about his culture. Learning about Charleston. It was like having a chauffeur take you around to parts of town you wouldn't have thought about visiting. He was fun, energetic. And yes, I bought his book at the gift shop (all bus tours leave from the visitors center), and I had him sign it! This is a unique experience you won't get anywhere else. Thank you to the amazing Alphonso Brown.

What set this apart from just Uber-ing and paying for our own admission was convenience. The tour shuttle picked us up from the Charleston Visitor Center (worth a trip on its own) and returned us to downtown Charleston at the top of the market. The shuttle driver gave charming fun facts about Charleston on the drive there and back and provided priceless tips for how to make the most of our time on the Plantation. The other thing that I will always be grateful for is that we missed our first tour time waiting for an Uber downtown to take us to the Visitor Center. The booking office charged us nothing to rebook for another day and time and didn't give me grief at all. To me, this is going above and beyond on hospitality and service you cannot buy. A wonderful company to tour with!

We were excited to visit Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens and explore Charleston, but the rude and…read morejudgmental tour guide, Anderson, completely soured the experience. Instead of providing an enjoyable tour, they criticized how guests traveled and even commented on where people chose to eat. It came across as condescending, unprofessional, and wildly inappropriate for someone representing Charleston hospitality. A disappointing experience that left a bad taste in our mouths. Will not choose Adventure Sightseeing again.
