Burger flavor is great with a really good sauce. The owner asked how everything was before we left and was truly so sweet. Overall, the burgers were 6.5 /10. The meat was good, but the ingredients were overwhelming. The bun was to much. Service was horrible. They took forever to take our orders although the place wasn't busy and the food took a little longer. Additionally, they forgot to put in the order for our mozzarella sticks. read more

We were very excited to try the burgers after seeing them on Instagram, but DONT believe the hype!! We waited for drinks as the food was prepared which was not a big deal. Then I got my burger and he had to wait for his because the cook forgot to add something. Fries came after the burger and the jalapeño popper breading was horrible and overcooked. The cheese wasn't melted which was concerning. The fries were soft and undercooked. On our way home we both had stomach pains and intense cramping. Something was definitely off about the food. In addition, the cook was sitting in the diner area with his cooking gloves on his phone. Then I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. Omg, the bathroom was gross and disgusting!!! Tiger strips left in the toilet bowl, and disgusting walls. Then as I walked back to the table I couldn't help but notice the disgusting meal prep area. The floor was gross and the cooking area look unhygienic. I HIGHLY do NOT recommend it. If the health department would have been there they would have been fined heavily or shut down. I am happy to see a burger place in the former CVS spot right next to Allende, one of my fav places for a quick tostada! I was hopeful that we would see juicy burgers and fresh flavors but was disappointed, although the fries were good. My companions had a cheeseburger and a the Smokey and I had a Caesar salad which was really flavorless. It could have had better tomatoes and romaine lettuce instead of iceberg lettuce. Cherry tomatoes offer more flavor than the larger tomatoes which are generally tasteless and mushy this time of year. The dressing was dull as was the whole salad. My advice would be that if you can't make the Caesar salad delicious then just offer a house salad with a house balsamic that you make from your own ingredients. And skip the storebought croutons - they are never good. As to the cheeseburger - the only cheese offered was the runny kind. The server used the word "melted". We got it on the side and it's Cheese Wiz. I happen to enjoy Cheese Wiz on fries occasionally so I did like the fries dipped in it, but on a gourmet cheeseburger, Cheese Wiz has absolutely no place. If you are going to offer cheeseburgers, a basic selection containing cheddar, Swiss and American is essential. If you can't offer this most basic selection of cheeses, then I would leave cheeseburger off the menu. As to the Smokeburger - it came with an unmelted slice of what looked like smoked Gouda. Should have been melted. My companion said the best part of the burger was the bun. They brought us some complimentary donuts after dinner which was a nice touch. The bathroom needs extra attention since it serves all customers. Water was everywhere and the mirror should be back on the wall. I liked the server and he was trying. The fact that they attempt to answer almost every review on Yelp is proof that they are trying. Just need to tweak some things as mentioned above. read more

To say I annihilated this food is an understatement. This is definitely been one of the best burgers I have ever had. I got the firefly burger with fries and an oreo shake, I would highly recommend. It's my first time coming to this place so customer service was great. The food however was a bit mid. Cheese fries were good, the firefly burger was not great. The burger meat was dry and had a weird taste to it, no seasoning. My friend ordered a crispy chicken breast sandwich but in reality it was chicken tenders slapped together on a piece of bread and called a crispy chicken breast sandwich, which also tasted weird and not good. Mozzarella sticks had no seasoning, but the fries were decent because of the seasoning. The price does not match the quality of the food and that's why I was a bit dissatisfied. read more

My husband has been begging me to go here and we finally got to go today. He ordered a Egg Bacon burger and added a chicken breast (only the sandwich no fries or a drink) About 15 minutes after we ordered the server came over and told him he didn't have anymore chicken breasts and my husband decided to just get an extra beef patty, then the server came back and said he found a chicken breast so all was well, we waited a while which is understandable when ordering chicken. When our order came my husband took a bite of his food and immediately spit it out as his chicken was completely raw on the inside, he got the server to come back over and notified him and the server said to give him a second as he took the tray of food away he came back over and asked if he wanted him to take the chicken off or remake the burger again and my husband said he wanted a new burger with an extra beef patty instead of the chicken. I finished my burger well before his new burger came out and it was only one beef patty so he was disappointed but was hungry so he ate. The server assured him he would be offering him a discount at the end of our meal. What I will say is the burger was not very good at all. The bun is really nice & soft but really large for such a small beef patty. I ordered the regular cheeseburger meal and substituted regular fries with curly fries & a Pepsi (the menu said this was around $20). It comes with grilled onions which really didn't have a good flavor so I ended up taking them off my burger. The photos on Facebook as well and instagram are nothing compared to the burger you receive which of course is the same at all restaurants but another couple in the restaurant were comparing the instagram photos to their burgers and were also disappointed. We go to pay and our total with the discount is $41. Obviously I understand that times are hard and the prices of everything has increased & it's a new business but we were pretty disappointed leaving. read more

Honestly, I think this place may be underrated. I got a simple cheeseburger meal with no onion. It took a minute to get out but the atmosphere and service are very nice. Plus, the burgers are HUGE! I really want this place to succeed so please take this feedback the right way. The bun is high quality, the beef is top notch, fries hot & crispy and sauces are imaginative. Staff is friendly. However the meal is inedible. Delicious but inedible. Burger is drenched in sauce to the extent that it soaks the bun and hides the beef. You can't pick up the burger without wearing it. It's a disgusting mess. Lunch break during work? Not an option. Date night? No way. Dinner before a show? Only if you're planning to change your clothes. Providing vinyl gloves is not the solution - toning down the sauce is - maybe put it on the side. There are too many dining options to have a flaw this considerable. read more

I am stunned at all the reviews about bad service , the place is small and understaffed you kind of expect that these days especially from a small business . Therefore what's important to me is the value I'm getting for what I'm paying so quality is Paramount . Considering the plethora of burger options out there this place isn't even close . 17 to $20 for a burger and frozen commercial fries. The menu is so complicated with detail I suppose because they want you to buy into the specialty aspect especially considering their steep pricing. I passed on reading through it and asked for a cheesebuger with Chicago style condiments. What I got was a miniscule party buried beneath a bun the size of a frisbee. I pointed out to the owner what a bad look it was. To his credit he was a nice man but his reasoning made zero sense. Couldn't get smalller buns??? I guess if you dont opt for one of their specialty burgers and go simple then there just isnt any effort being applied. With a bottle of water & a tip my bill was almost $24. Again let me make this clear. A tiny dramatically undersized patty & NOT fresh fries. On a last note the owner told me rather proudly his competition is Au Cheval... What kind of hubris is that when you're quality doesnt match Res Hot Ranch whom actually have several high profile food critic recommendations. For 1/3 the price! There's no communication. We waited in line for an hour before they even told us we have to come to the front of the line to order which was impossible since there was no room to even get to the front. Awesome burger spot in Lincoln park. Had two of their burgers Smokey and firefly and both were excellent. Portion size justifies the price bc I was STUFFED after eating one burger. Smokey burger was delicious and had a good Smokey flavor in the beef bacon.firefly burger had a bit more spicy kick to it and was also very good. EXCELLENT customer service. The burgers here are simply delicious- it's one of the best burgers I've had in Chicago. Super juicy, with original firefly sauce that brings all of the flavors together. The tomatoes and pickles are super fresh and do not overwhelm the flavor of the burger patty itself. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with our personalization of the order -- he double checked to make sure that my request of no bacon was honored!
