I believe that one should be as quick to praise as to (occasionally) criticize. I cannot say enough positive things about Finnin Kia in Dubuque and, specifically, my service agent Michael. We dealt with issues known (and covered) by Kia for a couple of engine-related problems for my 2016 Kia Optima EX Hybrid of that era. Regardless of low-mileage and very regular service for 35,000-plus (now 53k) miles, stuff happen. Michael and the service tech team have been exceptional...from a loaner to diagnosing and fixing a couple of things, involving a virtually new engine. At all times has he been professional, personable and competent, and simply a joy to work with. I would definitely recommend Finnin Kia for used or new cars and absolutely for service work. This review should have been written long ago!! I purchased a "new to me" KIA Soul from this dealership a little over two years ago. A few months later, I moved 100 miles away but continued to have my car serviced regularly, although not always at Finnin's due to distance. However, twice in the last few months, I had reasons to be in Dubuque and, while in the area, needed help with a battery on my key fob and just last Friday, a sensor on my dashboard. No charge for either!!! Quality Customer Service that goes beyond what one expects. John and Marcus in the Service Department went the extra mile for me. Bad customer service starting with Amy who according to the website is the Finance Manager/Sales Manager so I dont know why her recent job description includes complaints. Marcus in their service department. Read before you buy a car, because what they sell are LEMONS!! I purchased a Kia Optima 2018 and it has more recalls that a Christmas tree! Now of course the dealership prolongs the fixing of an oil consumption and I was told by their service tech. "Take the car, drive it like this until the belts that are on recall break and then probably we can fix it. Just know is not safe doing that" HOW ???? After they took the car for a week (5th time on the dealership for the same problem! An entire year! ) They tell me rent a car, because you are number 9 on the loaners, plenty of cars with the same situation. Today I have a piece of poop car, a $400 bill for a rental they did not pay which was a lie since they told me they would reimbursed me. A bunch of lies, bad customer service and liars from the dealership and I found so many Kia Class Action Lawsuit Targets Engine Oil Defect due to consumptions for my specific model and several others. Now conveniently after the car is been so many times on their dealership for repair about the same situation is time to fix the engine and they tell me you are over the miles for 995 miles LOL Very convenient KIA!! I love my Kia vehicle! So much so that my husband and daughter now own Kia vehicles of their own! However, the treatment that I have received from Finnin Kia has been extremely disappointing through the years. At 97,000 miles, my Kia began burning oil. I reached out to the Finnin service department, they assured me that they would follow up with my car being so close to the 100,000 mile warranty. They did anything but follow up. I was instructed to continue checking my oil level weekly and regularly communicated my concern. My Kia continued to lose oil and when I took it in at 103,000 miles (after changing the oil at 100,000 miles) with the oil so low it was not measuring on the dipstick, l left my vehicle and waited five days to hear back. I called and was scolded for calling. I waited another two weeks and then initiated another phone call as Finnin waited to hear back from corporate on how they would proceed. I was told that a phone call and message was made a week prior to my husband's phone. This was a complete fabrication. There was no empathy! Absolutely no missed call, voicemail, or message was made! There was no apology! There was no compassion! I cannot fathom having a vehicle for three weeks without doing any work on it and not saying sorry about the inconvenience or outcome! I am speechless! I was just told that the warranty had expired and nothing would be done! I purchased my vehicle and serviced it there for years hoping to maintain a positive working relationship. I chose to buy local and as a result was treated in a dismissive manner and with a complete lack of integrity by the individuals that work there. I have purchased many vehicles in the past and have never been treated in the condescending way that I have been at Finnin. I will never purchase another vehicle nor use their service department in any capacity. read more

The staff and especially April and Keri Ginter were so patient with walking me thru the difference of leasing and owning a car. Today I purchased a truck for my husband as a surprise to him but I was the one that got the best surprise... seriously the easiest and quickest vehicle purchase ever! I worked with Tony Fassbinder and I seriously cannot say enough positive things about his professionalism, knowledge, and just personality in general. He greeted me as soon as I pulled in the parking lot and had the truck already warmed up and ready for the test drive. From me pulling into the parking lot to me leaving with purchased "surprise" it only took a little more than an hour. I never once felt pressured and honestly felt like everyone was there to truly help me and make it a great buying experience. Within 15 min of leaving the dealership I received a phone call from my insurance company saying they received all the information for the new vehicle and just wanted to confirm it with me. Seriously I didn't have to do ANYTHING - they did it all! I was so pleasantly surprised with this buying experience especially after having a horrible experience at another dealership not that long ago. We have been buying vehicles from Mike Finnin for alot of years. We bought a car that we had problems with and even though it had no warranty they stood behind it. Our choice was to buy a 2011 Kia instead, as we already owned two other kia vehicles. We really like our vehicles we have had no problems with any of the three other than normal service, Our salespeople treated us with the with the utmost respect, we really enjoyed working with them. We are repeat customers of Finnin, both Ford and Kia dealerships. We have purchased several cars from them and will most likely purchase another! Easy to work with, little pressure and mostly not pushy. There's always one in every bunch, just switch salespeople if you aren't comfortable! The Kia dealership seems to be more laid back than the Ford side, but that could be my personal preference. A great bunch of people to work with! read more
