The new appointment was for the next week. When the day came, NO SHOW. I called and the lady told me that their other estimator was in Florida and asked to reschedule again. I said no thank you. How can they not even get estimations scheduled right. It's your first impression with the customer. Also, if someone is dealing with a basement flooding issue, this is not the kind of response you'd want to deal with. Do not recommend.

Flooding immediately from the garage door. They refuse to fix it because Anne Arundel County installed the grate in front of the garage door, with a drain pipe leading to a sump pump just inside the garage. After 6 years of floods, I finally recognized the problem: Action had removed the drain pipe and replaced it with drain tile that cannot handle heavier rains, causing the grate to overflow and flood the garage. Action never documented their visits, so this summer I tried something different: I made an appointment saying I had additional work, not warranty work, done. When the inspector showed up, I let HIM identify the problem, pointing out the issue was the drain tile that replaced the County's pipe can't handle the load. The inspector then refused to honor the warranty--again--but offered to have an Action foreman and crew come out and "fix my problem" for $1,000 cash. Still nothing in writing. Wondering how "corporate" was implicated (was this unofficial policy--avoiding honoring Lifetime Guarantees, potentially saving tens of thousands in repeat work?, or would the owners be upset that its employees were performing unpermitted and unauthorized work for untaxed income?). I received a text with the name of the foreman coming on the weekend and waited. They arrived in company trucks and uniforms. I took pictures and told them to leave. I went to the police station and tried to file a complaint but they said to report it to the MHIC first. I did and, again, waited. Today, the MHIC rejected the complaint as being 3 years past the original work. Time to file that police complaint and hire an attorney. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The next morning, I called four companies: Robert Bollinger at Storm Waterproofing responded quickly and was able to visit our home and give a quote faster than of the other companies. My husband was home for Robert's visit (as well as one other company), and was impressed with Robert's knowledge of how to fix the problem. (The second company simply wasted our time by sending out a representative who was not a specialist in storm water damage and solutions.) Robert responded to our questions quickly and knowledgeably. There was a cancellation, we were available, and the work was completed within 8 days of our initial contact. The two-man crew that arrive today were wonderful. They were on time, careful to protect our flooring/carpeting, did the job within the estimated time range, cleaned up after themselves, and answered our questions without hesitation. The company guarantees the areas that were waterproofed to be water free for the lifetime of the structure, and the guarantee is transferable from owner to owner. I would not hesitate to recommend Storm Waterproofing to anyone in need of their services.

It's easy to give a company a good review right after they finish a job. I think you learn a lot…read moremore about a company when you call them 12 years later with a problem. Triad Basement Waterproofing originally did work at our Gaithersburg home about 12 years ago. Recently, we discovered that the drain from that original system had clogged and our sump pump had also stopped working. I reached out to Triad and was honestly impressed with how quickly they responded. Within about 12 hours I had heard back from them, and Justin was at our house the following day. He replaced the bad sump pump and made sure everything was working properly. He then returned on Monday to replace the clogged drain. Justin was fantastic. What really stood out was his attention to detail. He was extremely thorough, took pride in what he was doing, and cleaned everything up so well that the area was spotless when he left. But the biggest reason I'm writing this review is that Triad stood behind basement waterproofing work they had done more than a decade ago. There was no runaround and no trying to avoid responsibility. They simply took care of the problem. After 12 years, that kind of service says a lot about a company. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Triad to anyone looking for basement waterproofing or sump pump work in the Gaithersburg area.

Mike DeGirolamo - the owner - during his assessment provided step-by-step explanation of what needed to be done to address this issue. He was very thorough and clear in his explanations. He did not try to 'upsell' or include items that were not necessary. Prior to work starting a timeline was provided. Timeline detailed team arriving over the course of 3 days and what to expect during this time. The Triad team - Michael, Justin and Roberto - arrived as scheduled on their assigned days. Before starting work for that day they again went over every detail of what they would be doing. Master plumber Justin Dorrier was amazing in his handling of the plumbing side of this process. His attention to detail and explanations clearly showed his professionalism and knowledge as a master plumber. I did much research and obtained multiple estimates from about 5-6 different waterproofing companies before selecting Triad. Triad was by far the company I was most impressed with. I highly recoommend Triad Basement and Waterproofing if you have any waterproofing needs. They are all (Mike, Tracey, Michael, Justin and Roberto) true professionals at what they do and were a pleasure to work with --- I wish I could give them 10 stars! Thank-you Triad Team!

Phenomenal! Value…read moreDry was a referral from another small local company whom I implicitly trust. Markus, their VP, came out to give us a proposal and quote. We then got proposals from two other local companies. Though Value Dry was not the lowest quote, we felt by far the most comfortable using them. And we are very glad we did. Our entire basement, which is entirely below grade, has (had!) water seepage due to hydrostatic pressure (water is forced into the house from underground), especially this last year with all of the rain we've had. And we have a huge basement. Markus proposed a new french drain around the entire interior perimeter of our basement, all of the exterior walls: 210 linear feet in total (we have a big basement). He explained in-depth what they proposed to do and why and how. They also added a second sump pump for us. And a battery back-up pump. They sent a crew of just three guys. Roger was the foreman, and you just have to love that guy. Great personality and he calmly and politely answered every question I had (I'm a detail freak). They were fantastic. They kept everything as clean as possible (not completely, but you can only do so much for concrete dust from jackhammers). Their work was very detail-oriented. It was cool seeing the destruction followed by the construction, laying down the new PVC underground drainage pipes, the new concrete on top of it, etc. Roger and I had discussions throughout the week about how best to do several things, like where and how to place the clean-outs (we have two) for the pipes. Bottom line: Look no further. They are honest. Not too expensive. And they deliver exactly what they say they will. Also, just a few weeks after completing our basement they did a smaller job for my in-laws, also local. They were just as happy with their work and with both Markus and Roger and his crew as we were. So this is really two 5 star reviews in one!

This is not simply a homeowner saying, "I didn't like the work." The dispute is documented. On July 13, 2026, Value Dry President James Ketterer met with me and prepared a written agreement identifying remaining work that included: * Installing two Lally columns * Removing existing block columns and debris * Patching 12 openings with block and cement * Removing concrete debris Value Dry also wrote that it was working to bring my project to completion under the agreements between us. Then came one of the most significant admissions in the entire dispute. Value Dry acknowledged in writing that its representative had not properly followed the change-order process. Mr. Ketterer stated that Danny should have identified the unforeseen work, explained the additional cost, put it in writing, and obtained my signature before the work was performed. That matters because Value Dry was seeking an additional $1,500 to close and restore openings after the masonry had already been removed. So this was not merely my allegation that I disliked an extra charge. Value Dry itself acknowledged that its change-order and approval process had not been properly followed. There were also documented coordination issues. On July 8, Value Dry told me: "We are scheduled with Wolfe on Friday." On July 9, I responded: "Please continue to communicate with Wolfe. He wants you there when he arrives." Those communications occurred while the project was actively underway--not months later after the dispute developed. Then, on July 14, after masonry surrounding a temporary structural support appeared compromised, I sent Value Dry photographs and an urgent written warning. Value Dry Vice President of Operations Shad Lyle subsequently confirmed that a crew was scheduled to return on July 21. Value Dry also communicated that the project had been placed on its schedule and discussed the remaining work. Then everything changed. On July 17, Mr. Ketterer informed me that Value Dry would perform no additional work, would seek no additional payment, and would consider the money already received "adequate compensation" for the work completed. The scheduled July 21 return was canceled. So prospective customers should consider the documented sequence: A dispute arises over additional charges the company president meets with the customer the remaining work is reduced to writing Value Dry acknowledges that its change-order process was not properly followed follow-up work is scheduled a structural-support concern is reported the July 21 return is confirmed Value Dry withdraws from the project before that scheduled return. Much of that chronology comes directly from Value Dry's own communications. What I find particularly troubling is that, instead of answering these documents point by point, Value Dry's public response has focused heavily on criticizing me personally. Personal attacks do not install Lally columns. Personal attacks do not patch 12 openings. Personal attacks do not explain an acknowledged failure to follow the proper change-order process. Personal attacks do not erase a written agreement. Personal attacks do not explain why work was scheduled and then canceled. And attacking a customer's personality does not make documented emails, photographs, payment records, scheduling messages, or written agreements disappear. If Value Dry believes that anything I have stated is materially false, there is a simple way to address it: Identify the statement. Identify the date. Produce the document that contradicts it. I will hold myself to the same standard. If a document shows that I made a factual error, I will correct it. What I will not do is substitute reputation, friendships, testimonials, marketing claims, or personal attacks for documentary evidence. A company can serve 100 cu
