Wow, I wish we had found Finley's sooner! What a great find. Comfortable but delicious pub food. They don't take reservations but they do have a texting system to alert you when your table is ready, which is incredibly convenient. On a Saturday night at 6, we waited for nearly an hour for a table, but it was worth the wait! The brussel sprouts, bacon and maple syrup app is sweet and spicy. The cheese curds are a must have item, light, airy and delicious. The farm house salad with chicken was huge and satisfying. The shrimp soba noodles were also very good. The lime added a fresh taste to the weight of the noodles. The fried chicken is a must have item, so crispy and delectable. Service was great. Our waitress offered to split the apps between us and the couple we went with without making a huge deal. It was very slick, other restaurants should take note. Their food stands out in Springfield. The dishes are creative, they always put their own spin on a dish. Also, their horseshoes are on par with the other places that serve them around here (house made white cheese sauce). I've never had any issues with staff, everyone has been friendly. The pulled pork sandwich or brisket sandwich are a must try. While you're at it (if it's fall or winter) get a "Main Street Assalted Caramel beer with a sugar rim", you won't regret that. read more

This was our first time here and everything was top of the line, easily one of the the best places to eat in Springfield. Starting with stelar service with very attentive, personable, and knowledgeable wait staff. Which only was topped by incredible food. Large portions. High quality. Adding in a great atmosphere and design to the dinning room. Great current music playing at the perfect level: not too low you can't hear it but not too loud you can't hear your table partners. I'm not really a drinker, but I did peruse their very lengthy beer, wine, and whisky list with lots on tap and a long list of bottles. The singular drawback was their waiting area was very small in comparison to seating capacity. But their notification via text message for when your table is ready service makes up for it. we used to come here weekly...but the food and service have gone downhill. the ownership seems to be experimenting with inadequate staffing to save money...service sucked not because of bad servers...just not enough to handle the crowd. sauted veggies tasted like they were from a frozen bag of mixed veggies...instead of fresh veggies. i wont be returning! read more

Tried this place for the first time today and I wasn't impressed. They underestimated how many people would be there for Father's Day and didn't have enough staff. The staff that was working was not worried about the customers. They didn't look stressed or worried that people were waiting for a table their food or their check. My husband had the fried pork chops and they were delicious but the rest of the food was just so so. Our drinks were never refilled the entire time we were there. Then the server waited at the table and watched as my husband filled out the tip. I have ne we seen that before and it was very awkward. read more

I have been here off and on since they opened. I am never sure what to order. I got the chicken and waffles. The waitress offered to swap out hot chicken for regular chicken. Wow! Chicken was so crispy and juicy. Waffles were small but just the right size with butter and syrup. As a meal - delicious! The place was busy but they handled it all. This last time was over the top though. I messaged the restaurant on Messenger about a surprise birthday candle for my gf dessert. They ran out to Walgreen's to get a candle! The line gets long after 5:50, so make sure to come in before that time. Overall, great service, amazing food, and a nice environment. I had the meatloaf, and definitely recommend it. This was my first time eating at Finley's. While walking in, I noticed how nice the outdoor seating area was, but did not like that it openly faced the parking lot. Upon entering the restaurant, I felt the cold air conditioning blowing at a very cool temperature. Although the restaurant was nice inside, the vibe of the restaurant didn't fit with the taproom style. I tried and would HIGHLY recommend a lemon meringue martini. Although the presentation isn't impressive, it had a great flavor that tastes true to the name. Their beer menu contains a good amount of options, but not necessarily ones I would want. For appetizers, I would highly recommend the Beer Battered Wisconsin Cheese Curds along with crispy Brussels sprouts. The cheese curds are hand buttered and come with enough for about two or three people; the sriracha aioli was fantastic! As for the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, they had a great flavor but were far from crispy; they were more-so steamed. They were, however, topped with crispy onions, a drizzle of syrup sriracha aioli, and a sesame sauce that had a nice flavor. Because I'm not from Springfield, it isn't my top choice to eat at nor would I go out of my way for it. If I were a local, however, I would consider this a good option of somewhere to eat. read more

Came to Finley's Tap for lunch today. The food was amazing. I got the fish and chips. Warning the platter is MASSIVE, the picture kinda makes it seem smaller. It was so delicious though. We had the tater tots and beer cheese sauce for appetizer.. I'm already craving those again. Our server was absolutely great.. she even ran my togo box out to the parking lot to me when I forgot it. So nice of her to care about our experience from beginning to end and then even after we'd left. All of the servers seemed friendly taking care of tables around helping each other. I was hopeful about this place after doing happy hour here a few months ago and having a good experience. Back today for lunch and had an AWFUL experience. So regretful I recommended this place to my family. Feel like an idiot. FIRST: we waited over an hour for our food. That's not okay, especially since there were ZERO check ins or apologies from our server for the delay. Terrible beginning. No bread, no apologies, no communication while we waited. And it was a late lunch so we were starving. When the food arrived, only 2 out of the 4 orders were right. First, my dad's burger horseshoe was supposed to have a medium burger. The burger was so undercooked that it soaked part of the toast red. It was BARELY medium rare. Poor guy couldn't touch it and refused to send it back Second, my mom ordered a cubano sandwich with chips but got a salmon sandwich with fries instead. HUH? Her natural response, "I think you gave me the wrong order." The server says she wrote it down as salmon. Cuz yeah "salmon" and "cubano" sounds so similar. WTF? We convinced my mom to get what she actually ordered so she sent it back and luckily they brought her the chips she ordered so she munched on those while she waited. The server promised an expedited order but it took 25 minutes. AWFUL. She even came by one time to promise 1 minute which turned into 5-10 and then the food arrived barely warm. Okay wait people we're not done. SO, I felt TERRIBLE for recommending this place so I obviously grabbed the check when it came. I wanted OUT of there stat so I had my card ready, looked at the check quickly and paid up. As I was getting ready to stash the receipt in my wallet I took another once over and caught that they charged me for both my moms cubano AND the mistake salmon sandwich. What a way to top off THAT experience. Finley's: please improve your server standards, hiring and training. I couldn't bear to give her a bad tip BUT I don't know that I'll be back AND I'll be certain to tell all my friends and family about this experience. Worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. SO disappointed. You guys are a cute new addition to Springfield but that was awful. You should've taken the 2 mistakes off the check and apologized. Shame on you. read more

Took my son and his girlfriend to lunch here. We have enjoyed some good meals here in the past. They appear to be so short-staffed they are no longer a full service restaurant. But prices still reflect full service. The waitress brought me a $14 salad to the table in a to-go container with plastic silverware. Extremely limited menu. If you don't want barbecue don't go here. That's all they serve now. No real plates or utensils. No bartender. Waitresses have to mix drinks and wash glasses. I spent $75 on lunch for 3 people for 4 beers, 2 salads and one pulled chicken sandwich. We were very disappointed in the food. Our waitress did a fine job. Some tables left without ordering when they found out the situation. I wish we had left too. Feel sorry for the staff left there to deal with this sad situation. read more

Wow...first vist was good but the second was less then desireable. Service and beer selection hit the mark but the food out of the kitchen was not ediable. I ordered a brisket sandwich but couldn't get past the first bite. The brisket was thinly sliced and over cooked x 10. It actually snapped when I bent it over. How this was released from the kitchen is concerning. Absolutley no quality control. They did take it off the bill but it was too late to reorder since everyone else was finishing their meal. Nothing super special about this place but the food is usually good. One annoying thing is that when the bill comes via electronic checkout handed to you by the wait staff. The pre selected tip is 28% and hovering over you while making other selection. So appreciate the gluten free bun they offer and their gf menu which suggests changes and omissions to make many dishes gf. They have gf pasta but require advance notice or a slow time to boil a fresh pot of water to avoid cross-contamination. The house burger was delicious and perfectly cooked.
