One star for carrying Jordans. Another star for the two young associates that helped us this day. There would be no stars if it wasn't for these two factors.
True Blues came out today (June 4) and I got my pair on Eastbay last night because stores usually don't carry kids sizes. We made it to Salinas to pick up a pair for the bf! Finish Line was the third store we went into at the Salinas mall but the second to actually have them in my mans size.
The associates there that morning, a young girl and a young guy were super friendly and already knew we were coming in for the True Blue's. If these two friendly associates were not working that morning, we would have walked right out to Footlocker.
To keep it short and simple, they had 2 pairs left in his size. We took a look at one pair. I'm not the picky one but I could totally tell that one shoe was really creased like someone with fat ankles tried to squeeze into them. But why was one shoe creased and the other in perfect condition? Because, in my opinion whoever tried on the pair KNEW they creased the new shoes and tried to swap the creased left side with the perfect left from the other pair making it look like a legit box.
But the real, one and only reason we both did not want to make a purchase with Finish Line was because of the rude and ignorant head manager. We were greeted by the two young associates and they brought us a box to look at. We were looking at the goods when the big guy came from the back. We asked the girl if we could look at the other pair because the one we had was not satisfactory. The manager had the audacity to say in front of us, "Well you Jordan people are so picky. What are you going to do with them, keep them dead stock? Why? These aren't even O.G. colors." And walked away flustered. The girl said it was no problem and brought the other box out so we could make our decision. After we picked a box and the bf was at the register the head manger came back out and asked right in front of me, "Give me the other box, I want to make sure everything is fair for the next customer." C'mon grumpy, I'm getting upset right now writing this review because I have never had customer service like this before! Even at Flight Club on Greene St., NYC!
And I should have noticed when we walked in but I didn't, but when we were about to make the purchase he comes out from the back flashing his feet, "See I won't keep these dead stock these look good with jeans." The associates looked super stunned too, I'm sorry but I will say that this fool probably just went in the back to slip on a pair to make us look stupid. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Why are you trying to make your customers feel inferior? Like hell we'll even walk into this location again. In my opinion, why and how did he get a pair before the release morning? Shouldn't customers have first pick to inventory as we are paying the full $150 WITHOUT an employee discount? SHADY.
And as for the manager's attempted history lesson about the True Blue 3s not being O.G., well Mr. Know-It-All, these TB3's came out in 1988, which makes them O.G. colors, grrrrr!
To all Jordan/ Sneakerheads don't settle for less, we go through a lot to get shoes. So don't get discourage when you run into poor customer service just get your pair and dip. read more
