The prices are good and that's a plus. When it was on South Main I went in every few months now that they moved to East Market which is further from my house it seems to be a less enjoyable. Excellent service and when he's not busy the gentleman takes care of you right away if you have any questions or anything about anything that you're looking for. He has mostly everything that somebody may need and if he does not he does his best to get it. A wide variety of items and they are very very reasonably cheap. I was in the not too long ago and bought eight golf clubs for $8 and they were all drivers to one through. And some of the drivers were old school and could be worth a lot of money I haven't checked into it yet. So if you're looking for something that may be worth something and somebody else doesn't know he may have it I just thought I had that one in there. I've been coming here for many years right after they first opened when owners Kathy and her then husband ran the store. It's pretty much the same as it was then, a small crowded store where you really have to search and dig for some items. This place is sort of cross between a Thrift Store and an Antique store. As they carry some antique furniture and glass ware. Lots of kitchen accessories. Really Small selection of shoes, books and clothing. You can make some good deals here. Lots of seasonal holiday items. I just bought an adult Halloween costume for 5 bucks! She does offer delivery on furniture for only 25.00. Which is very reasonable. No street parking in front of the store, only a huge free parking lot in the back. read more

This is my "must stop" place on my drives from Southern California to Northern California. Mary has a gem here. She works constantly to keep her shelves stocked and organized. I asked for something specific and she knew exactly where to look. I have found many gems here and it's fun to shop here. The rows are a bit narrow because she has a lot of goodies. That makes it even more fun. The organization is wonderful and she works hard to keep it up. Highly recommend. read more

This is a small, densely packed old school thrift store that looks likes it's been there for many decades. Lots of household goods, glassware and dishes. It's hard to see from the parking lot. They're tucked into a corner with a very small sign. Not the kind of thrift store with estate quality merch, but lots of low priced stuff. read more

The store is just a thrift store, nothing that makes it better or worse than any other similar store. My personal problem is with the rhetoric of their signs. Like someone already mentioned here there was the no homeless sign and now there is one facing South Main that reads: Happy to be an "AMERICAN" Lucky to live in this country American in red and inside quotation marks. Maybe they want to make sure that we know there are different types of Americans? Maybe they might be a little on the racist side? Maybe they just like quotation marks and the color red a lot. Anyways, personally I don't like the tone of their signs and they seem to be charged in a discriminatory way. Very disorganized and hectic store. Many old items, very overpriced glassware, Knick nacks and so on. Store owner doesn't wear a mask at all whilst working in the store. I came in here once when I lived just down the street and I'm so bummed I barely scoped it out cuz now I live on the opposite side of Salinas. The location has plenty of parking and they have lots of knickknacks and home goodies. Definitely wish I had gotten there earlier too because they closed at 430 or something. The guy that helped me was really nice, I had asked for his opinion on which vacuum would be better and he picked one out and the vacuum was amazing! It was like brand new and only 20 I think. If you don't like clutter tho this place would probably get under your skin. It definitely is worth a look though! I just keep missing out on checking it out again cuz they close when I'm usually off from work. read more

This is NOT a pretty little boutique. It is an old-school, no-frills junk-thrift store. In other words, it is FABULOUS. Come ready to get dirty. I have found at least five unique pieces of furniture that I use daily. They just needed a little elbow grease and polish. But the best thing was the attitude toward educators. The owner gives away her books for FREE to teachers! I walked out with an orange box full...plus some stuff I bought, of course! The books take some time going through, but it is well worth it! The owner is very helpful and willing to make a deal. She is both accommodating and friendly. Yes! It smells. Yes, it's crowded. But it is worth EVERY dime! No Credit Cards or Checks accepted...just cold, hard cash! FYI: The credit union bank ATM is less than 50ft from their door. read more

I give it 3 stars for the fact that it is fairly cheap, I've found some good items here and paid $1 for them. But not everything is cheap, and not everything is even worth any money. It really is a "trash" store more than thrift. I call it the junk store. There is piles and piles of crap accumulating throughout the store, a lot of it is stuff I doubt anyone will ever buy. The staff isn't good at pricing either. There are items for sale that are WAY overpriced. I walked by a book of pogs recently there, priced at $50! Ridiculous. The mom of the mom and son duo who run the store is a little....odd. She seems like a cooky old lady to me, and moody. Oh, and they only take CASH. Except there is no sign that says that anywhere in the store. You'd think one of the 10 signs at the register saying the store "rules" would say no cash, but it doesn't. read more

Kathy, the store owner is a great business woman and will usually negotiate a fair price with you. lots of vintage items and some antiques plus new items as well. There's a lot of crap that you have to sift through to find the realllly good stuff. Literally, it's like a garage sale that both imploded and vomited all over itself. I used to like coming into this shop with my mom when I was younger. I liked looking in the book section. I've been back recently, three times within the last month. The place has some nice finds, but there are things for sale here that make me cringe. Food and toxic house products like opened interior paint cans don't seem like items that should be thrifted at all. There is a lot of "junk", stuff that should just be thrown out rather than sold for a pretty penny. As I mentioned earlier, I've gone in three times within the last month. The first time was with my fiancé. I found a table and tablecloth to buy. The table was $15 and the table cloth section is marked at $3. When I went to pay, Kathy rang me up and said she'd round up my total to $20. She then charged me tax. My fiancé was ticked off, I thought she might have forgotten the price of the tablecloth section. She wasn't very friendly that day. I returned again on another day for some things I had been interested in buying. When I came in I gave Kathy a polite hello but she returned a non enthusiastic response. Her son was in the shop. He was a lot kinder. I bought what I wanted, and Matthew thanked me and wished me a good day. He had worked the register and did not over charge me. The last time I went in I bought another handful of items. Again I said hello to Kathy and again she gave me a cold response. When other people entered the store she gave them a smile and a cheerful hello. They all had light hair and fair skin. The Asian mother and daughter who left empty handed were also given a much warmer "Have a nice day". I picked up a few items, one of which was clearly marked $5. When I went to pay she charged me $9.50 for it even though she saw the price, saying it was old. I will not return to this store. Kathy doesn't seem to like Mexicans, or those of us who may look it but ARE NOT. My mom has overheard her talking negatively about people of color. I experienced unequal treatment to that of people who don't look "brown". I hate pulling race into things, but each time I've been in she's been noticeably kinder to people with lighter hair, skin and eyes. read more

i used to find really good things here. but recently she has raised prices, the things i used to get for less than 2 dollars, are like 7,8,9, even 15 dollars now. i keep going back, but things have gotten too pricy for me, being on welfare and all. i dont know what changed. i am disappointed, this was the place to go to when i went to salinas. read more
