I saw on facebook goodwill outlet and didnt know it was a thing. On the advertisement at a dollar per pound I said wow that's a deal. As I walked in I asked an employee if this place was a dollar pound and he said yes. Didn't realize it was $2.99 until I got to the register. There was a ton of people here and people have no Courtesy whatsoever. They're throwing stuff everywhere on the floor. It makes me wonder how they keep their house. Especially if they throw stuff around at stores like that... It says a lot about their cleanliness. All of a sudden I saw people line up and I asked an employee what that was about and I guess they're all waiting for the supposed new merchandise to dig in. That's just freaking crazy. Ok I don't expect people to do more than is reasonable. But. I dropped off about 10 bags of clothes and items here. The (2) workers---- both less than half my age---- wheeled out the bins and just stood there while I hoisted them out of my car and then up into their carts. They both just watched this oldster heave and ho. Not an offer to help or take a bag themselves or get one side of the bag. When I walked around to the other side they didn't even push the cart closer!!! Absolutely no assistance whatsoever. Not even a smidge. Isn't that part of the job? Or--- if you look under 30 and I am obviously over 60, might you not say, "here let me help?" Next time (if there is a next time because I can give other places and other ways) I will maybe vibe petty and just put the bags on the ground and let them lift them into the carts. As a clothing reseller, shopping the bins is the cheapest way for me to source inventory. Myself and 2 other reseller friends made the trek today from East Bay and South Bay to stock up on inventory. The experience was more reflective of how the bins felt before the pandemic; a free-for-all, no social distancing. I felt fortunate to not be shopping for tech or culinary; when a hard goods bin would be rolled out, people were aggressively swarming. It was less intense sorting through the new clothing bins that were brought to the floor. Five stars for the following: -bathrooms (not at option in the South San Francisco location) -parking - available carts- even if you had to wait, people were checking out regularly -amount of inventory -how frequently bins were turned over I was disappointed by how expensive this store was; starting this year, cost is now $2.49 per pound, and this does not decrease by the amount of pounds you buy, like other Goodwill Outlets. My best find of the day was a Johnny Was embroidered dress. I walked away with about 30 lbs. in inventory after spending $92. I will return, but it won't be as frequently as I visit the SSF location. read more

We haven't been here for a year due to Covid. I understand them limiting the amount of people entering but they need a better system. We had t wait an hour in line in the freezing cold and when we finally got in we got rushed out at 5.30 when it closes at 6. Once people get in here they don't want to leave. There was still a line of 12 people waiting when we got in. I think you should let in your allotted people 10 or 15 at a time then give them a time limit of one half hour then clear the store and let the next allottment in. read more

Love this place. What a weird concept but it's awesome and if you look hard enough you will get some great deals! Everything is a weighed! I've seen people let go of things because of heavy they are. I would suggest wearing gloves when you come here. Also bring your hand sanitizers! The employees are always so nice. I'll definitely be back here again! read more

One of the nicest Goodwill Outlet I've been to. The rotation is every 30 minutes and they rotate all day long. Most of the staff there were really nice and friendly. So, everything there is $1.29 for everything clothing, housewares, electronics, books, etc. No special purchasing. There is plenty of parking and the building is very nice with plenty of lighting inside and clean. They sell a little bit of everything such as furniture, VHS, LP's, DVD's, electronics, rugs, clothing, and the list goes on. Keep in mind that you will need to dig for your treasures. Bring gloves and mask if you are sensitive to dirty and dust. read more

As someone who comes from shopping at the bins in LA this goodwill bins is low to par. The workers here take there job way to serious, just to talk with each other their whole shift. Bin rotations take 3 hours between rotations, and all the good stuff is picked through in the back. read more

Worst shopping experience I've ever had! Whilst taking a break from shopping, my 67 year old grandma was sitting on one of the donation chairs. What seemed to be a manger (she wore a blazer) walked past us and told everybody who was sitting on the chairs and couches to get up or get kicked out and she would not tell us again. Very bad attitude! She continued with verbal threats when tarps on the bins were being touched. This is our first time at the goodwill outlet in Salinas and we will definitely not return. read more

This review is about the Goodwill Outlet Store on Moffett St near the airport. Hours can vary without notice due to COVID-19 pandemic concerns. Current hours are 11AM - 5PM, 7 days/wk. No children under 15 allowed. Masks must be worn. Restrooms and drinking fountains are closed. BTW, sanitary actions such as wiping carts down with disinfectant only appear to occur after the store closes. At some point each midday, the store will close for about 1/2 hour so that new tables of fresh merchandise can be brought out without causing a stampede of bargain-hunting customers. Prior to bringing out the new merchandise, all customers must check out and the front doors will be closed. A new line of customers waiting to get in the store then forms. The store is limiting occupancy, to about 45 people. The limit is most heavily enforced when the store first opens (or reopens). After this, the limit is usually only heavily enforced when so many customers accumulate that they begin to stop social distancing and/or if they exceed 4 persons per merchandise table. I personally recommend customers wear mechanic's gloves to protect their hands as they sort through the merchandise. These can be purchased for a few bucks at Harbor Freight on Main St. in Salinas. Unfortunately, there are often large pieces of picture-frame glass and other sharp objects mixed in the merchandise in the roll-around bins. This glass often gets broken due to customer greed and haste. IMO, this is a lawsuit waiting to happen and Goodwill employees should be required to put all such pictures and glass in special bins dedicated to this purpose. Due to the large number of customers in the store and the nature of people jockeying to grab a bargain, social distancing is not always practiced by customers. This makes this store not as safe as a regular retail store where social distancing is more consistently followed. That said, roof-top air-conditioners provide excellent ventilation & that does help reduce the chance of infection. If you are careful to quickly back off and maintain social distance from those that encroach, especially from those that are speaking, if you don't touch your face, and if you sanitize your hands immediately after leaving, then shopping here may be OK. Experts generally agree that you usually need to be in close contact with an infected person for at least several minutes to become infected unless they directly cough or sneeze on or near you. However, talking is not that much better, so again, back away. The potential bargains aren't worth the risk. To decrease my potential exposure to COVID-19 even more, I leave the merchandise I buy untouched in my hot dry car for about three days after I purchase it. This increases the odds that any virus on it is dead before I handle it again. I put my masks and gloves on the dashboard where they are exposed to the sun. I have several sets so I can rotate. I use different sets of PPE for the grocery store than for stores such as this. I feel sorry for the store employees as they are likely the ones at most risk of COVID-19 exposure. There is very limited Plexiglass shielding at the cash registers, and many employees spend a significant amount of time on the sales floor cleaning up merchandise that has fallen. Customers seem to enter employees' 6' social-distancing space quite frequently and employees, in trying to get their work done quickly, often encroach on the six-foot space of the customers. That said, I have spoken to several employees and managers, and apparently to date, none at this location have come down with the COVID. That is a very good sign, though some employees may have been infected but remained asymptomatic. If the pandemic worsens or if infection contact tracing ever shows this store to be a COVID-19 hot-spot, I won't be surprised if the health department shuts this place down until Goodwill does a major merchandising reformat. With the large number of customers churning through disorganized bins, the store currently bears more similarity to a casino or a theater concession store than it does to a retail store. Theaters and I believe casinos have been deemed not safe to reopen. If you shop here, much of the responsibility to avoid infection is on you. If this critique concerns you, this is probably not the store for you at this time. Good, more bargains for me!!! LOL read more

Well I have heared nothing but good things about this outlet and I was finally in the area and decided to go and check it out. What a cluster f::k, wow you would think it would be a little, no in there case alot more organized. Far from it, you go in there and it is dog eat dog, nothing enjoyable about it and nasty dirty. Go in there with a full hazmat suit on. I should have, I was chewed up by flees, yes flees and alot of them. I am allergic to flea bites. My God my hands are so swollen, I can't close them and infected where they bit me. Real bad, so if you really want to find some good deals and you don't mind laying with the pigs. Well it is the place for you, make sure your medical is paid up and you have a hazmat suit and you should be O.K. that if you don't get stuck to the sticky floors. Full blown pig sty. I was used to the Bargain Barn in Santa Cruz. Here are my observations. They had bathrooms. The building was pretty nice. I talked with the cashier before to find out how much stuff cost $1.49 per lb for whatever you shove in your bag unless it's a huge item. Books are fifty cents a pound and if you buy over 10 lbs of stuff it costs you a flat $5. I don't really know how much over 10 lb is $5. Bind left, bins came back. They held people behind a cord of a blue tarp and then there was a ton of grabbing and running. Luckily I was just watching that. My items were a lot less expensive than I thought they were going to be. Two shirts, a rain jacket and a pair of pants for $3.27 after he weighed them. Both cashiers were very nice. they let me bring my own bags in and fill them. They didn't have as much stuff as Bargain Barn. There were no games and puzzles which I like to look through. It's mostly clothes and a bunch of almost garbage in the non clothing containers, very few shoes, very few books. Maybe it was because it was Sunday at12:30pm. read more
