Andrew is hands-down the best Pilates teacher in San Diego!!!…read more I've been training with Andrew for seven months now, and it's honestly one of the best things I've ever done for myself. From day one, he's made me feel supported, seen, and capable of so much more than I thought possible. I'll ask him to show me how to do a move and somehow ~ just like that ~ he breaks it down so clearly that I actually get it. He's a gifted teacher, a natural coach, and one of the most uplifting humans you'll ever meet. If you're even thinking about starting Pilates, this is your sign: go with Andrew. And yes, this goes for both women and men (hello, even pro athletes are doing Pilates now ~ and Andrew's that guy). He doesn't just lead a class ~ he tunes into the room, gives the most intuitive hands-on adjustments, and makes these tiny, perfect tweaks that completely transform your practice. It's wild how much of a difference it makes. And the vibe? So good. You feel like the only person in the room when he's working with you. There's a gentleness to his approach, but he still pushes you in the best way ~ kindly, consistently, and with that quiet confidence that makes you believe in yourself too. When I started in January 2025, I was a total mess ~ no core, no strength, no flexibility, and a knee injury that made kneeling impossible. Now? I'm doing things with my body I never imagined ~ including kneeling on both knees. And I'm just getting started. Andrew has me feeling strong, more tuned in, and connected to my body in a way I haven't felt in years. I can't wait to see what kind of magic he works on me by next summer. Truly, Andrew is the kind of trainer who changes everything. Check out his schedule on Instagram: @19mostdope You'll be so glad you did.

I've always been nervous starting something new -- that feeling of being the only one who doesn't know what they're doing -- but our instructor, Sahar, completely put that to rest from the moment I walked in. The 50-minute reformer class was challenging but totally manageable for a beginner and for somehow who isn't done any exercise in over 5 years. She was friendly, patient, and genuinely funny, keeping the whole class talking and laughing -- which of course made the time fly by. She made sure everyone felt included, and I never felt out of place or behind. I injured my shoulder earlier this year and when she saw me struggling she came and helped me modify what we were doing so that I could do it safely. The studio itself is clean, easy to find, and parking is a breeze. They have grippy socks you can buy there if you don't have any, that's what I did my first class. I was a sore for a few days but in the best way possible, and I liked it so much I've already gone back a couple times. My only wish is that she had more morning class options throughout the week. If you've been on the fence about trying Pilates, go for it. You're in great hands, especially if you schedule a class with Sahar.

A lot of studios won't correct your form and just let you move however you feel like even if it's wrong. If that's what you're looking for, her classes probably aren't for you. But if you want to be pushed, encouraged, and actually make sure you're doing everything correctly and safely this is it. Wendy is incredibly attentive. She remembers every client, their specific needs, injuries, and goals, and she'll adjust and correct you in real time to make sure you're getting the most out of each movement. I'm so happy to have her in La Mesa and I've been telling everyone that will listen how amazing she is.

A Balanced Yogi offers a variety of classes for all levels, both heated and not heated. On occasion, they even have some fun experiential/learning offerings for nominal extra fee. The instructors are kind and knowledgeable and offer top notch guidance and insight. The studio is clean, calm, and stocked with equipment. I am so grateful to have found this gem. (A couple years ago, I made the difficult decision to part ways with another studio (a bougie, corporate, chain get-down - you all know the place) because it was too darn expensive. I was worried then that I'd never find similar quality elsewhere. I was SO wrong. A Balanced Yogi offered REAL yoga classes (not "gym" yoga), and they had an affordable, fair package that I was comfortable signing up for.) Sadly, I must part ways again - but for logistical reasons this time. This studio did not make me jump through hoops to cancel - in fact Tyler wished me the best and even offered a couple extra classes at no charge as a parting gift. It was a simple, honest transaction. Start to finish, A Balanced Yogi checks all the boxes.

His attention to detail is incredible and his encouragement keeps me pushing myself more than I ever thought I could. He truly stands out as the best Pilates trainer in San Diego. Absolutely love this Hotworx studio. I was looking for a more affordable option for hot yoga and…read morehot pilates and this one definitely nailed it. I love the 24/7 accessibility and the ability to usually have your own sauna. With that being said, I do have some recommendations or things to keep in mind: -I wish the saunas were bigger! They say that it's big enough for 3, but 2 is definitely cramped in the saunas. -The saunas are not built for tall people. I am 5'4 and lay down all the way across the sauna (facing the instructors) -The classes do not vary that much. They are supposed to change every month but I notice some do not change or if they do, the variations are not that different.

As a former athlete and lifter, getting back into a consistent workout routine has felt…read moreintimidating--until I found HOTWORX Santee. This place has made the transition so much smoother for me, both physically and mentally. What I love most is the flexibility. It's open 24 hours, which is a huge deal as a busy mom. I can come in early in the morning or late at night, depending on what my day looks like. The system they use to keep the studio secure makes me feel really safe--entry is code-based and the doors stay locked, which gives peace of mind during early morning or late night sessions. The workouts themselves are incredible. The infrared sauna element adds a detoxing benefit that I genuinely feel. When I stay consistent, I notice a big difference: less pain and inflammation, improved flexibility, better posture, more energy, and a clearer mind overall. I also love that they have a dedicated weightlifting area! They offer a variety of free weights up to 50 pounds, a TRX setup, and a cable machine that allows for a full range of exercises. Being able to combine the benefits of infrared workouts with traditional strength training in the same visit has been a game changer for me. The studio is always very clean and well maintained, and I really appreciate that it's not overcrowded. Sure, there are peak times like any gym, but it's generally easy to get in, out, and book a session without stress. The staff is also amazing--always kind, helpful, and welcoming. You can tell they care about the environment and the people coming in. If you're looking for a unique, safe, and effective workout space that works with your lifestyle, I can't recommend HOTWORX Santee enough!

Tracy is funny, energetic and encouraging, but she also pays close attention to form and is great about offering modifications when needed. I've seen real gains in strength and mobility, and classes feel accessible for all ages and experience levels. Highly recommend either location. I've heard great things about almost every instructor, but these are the ones I've taken most and would recommend 10x over: Tracy F. - Warm, funny, and welcoming. I've taken 150+ of her classes and they're always fun, varied, and challenging. She creates a supportive environment, encourages growth, and keeps things fresh each week. Her TRX class is one of my all-time favorites. Anel - My first-ever Pilates instructor and a big reason I stuck with it. She teaches a more classical style and clearly explains form and function, which built my confidence early on. Consistent warmups, always-changing flows, and uplifting energy that carries you through class. Jenni G. - A newer instructor to me and now a weekly favorite. She's super attentive (always remembers my lower back issue), offers great modifications, and gives cues that just click. Her flow and TRX classes are fun, challenging, and set to great music. A great pick for beginners or anyone leveling up. Stacy C. - Somehow both challenging and calming. She has a peaceful, encouraging presence and checks in with everyone during class with gentle corrections and praise. I love how she weaves in anatomy and form education--her classes fill up for a reason. One thing I will say is I've noticed there is often not front desk staff at this studio. Instructors seems to be able to help with any logistical stuff like scheduling a class or buying merchandise, but if you have questions about your membership, payment cycles, referrals/discounts or anything like that--you may be better off calling at a different time of day or just emailing the studio.
