If you're looking for a legit studio with an loving namaste vibe - a REAL yoga experience - this is your place! A Balanced Yogi offers a variety of classes for all levels, both heated and not heated. On occasion, they even have some fun experiential/learning offerings for nominal extra fee. The instructors are kind and knowledgeable and offer top notch guidance and insight. The studio is clean, calm, and stocked with equipment. I am so grateful to have found this gem. (A couple years ago, I made the difficult decision to part ways with another studio (a bougie, corporate, chain get-down - you all know the place) because it was too darn expensive. I was worried then that I'd never find similar quality elsewhere. I was SO wrong. A Balanced Yogi offered REAL yoga classes (not "gym" yoga), and they had an affordable, fair package that I was comfortable signing up for.) Sadly, I must part ways again - but for logistical reasons this time. This studio did not make me jump through hoops to cancel - in fact Tyler wished me the best and even offered a couple extra classes at no charge as a parting gift. Updating my review. Tyler and Sam reached out to me upon reading my review and graciously offered to make up an instructor no-showing by comping their $30/30 days special. This alone speaks volumes of how much they care about their business and the community. After taking 2-4 classes a week for the past 4 weeks, I can say they absolutely deserve 5 stars. There is a separate restroom down the hall which has a code for extra security/privacy. Their studio is clean, smells great, and offers beautiful views and vibes both during the day and night. I love the view of the mountains during the day and the natural light. At night, depending on which class you take, you could partake in a candle lit class, a cool color-changing class, sound bath classes, and more. I have taken classes with Sam, Alyssa, Keshia, and Jen. They all offer a unique experience and I enjoyed each of them in a different way. So much variety AND time slots, you are sure to find what you need. From slow flows, to sculpt classes (fun!), to sound bath/meditative classes, and even mat pilates. So many options. I really enjoy hot classes and I believe they only offer hot classes on Saturdays (they do offer warm classes throughout the week though!) They are close enough to the Trolley Station where you can easily get a smoothie or quick bite before or after class, but far enough so parking is never a problem. Perfect location. I came across their studio through ClassPass and so glad I did. I am the type that enjoys both "personal" studios and "commercial" studios for separate reasons. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I dropped into to a candlelit vinyasa flow class recently and really enjoyed the class.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The instructor Alyssa A. was great. Alyssa gave the class clear instructions and had a peaceful demeanor. Alyssa gave me some helpful advice as well during class. The studio was clean and class started on time. Some things I didn't like about the class was that the many people in the class were quite loud while they were socializing before practice began. I fell upon this studio when I moved from Santa Monica to Santee. They had just opened so I had low expectations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This studio is great. One amazing thing after my first class the owner sent me a personalized text and even helped me locate a traditional barre studio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've taken pretty much all the classes, heated, yoga sculpt, slow flow, restorative, vinyasa flow and literally every class has been excellent. The studio is clean, they offer cool lavender towels in the heated class which are a great touch. The teachers have all been fantastic. I think this is the only local yoga studio, go check it out. I was nervous to try yoga but took advantage of the $30 for 30 days unlimited offer they had and I'm very glad I did . They offer a number of different type of classes, the instructors are friendly and helpful. I love how they explain a pose and then give variations for people like me that are not flexible yet. After my 30 days were up I signed up for the monthly unlimited offer and now go 2-3 times a week. In a month and a half I've already noticed several improvements in my core strength and flexibility. I'm a 60 year old woman that has been doing yoga sporadically for almost 20 years. I live in El Cajon and tried a few studios in East County before the pandemic. Thankfully The Balanced Yogi Studio was opened. I've been coming here since Nov 2023. I usually do vinyasa and yin and found there are a variety of student ages and abilities attending. There are a variety of teachers ranging from very experienced to some newer ones. The studio is clean, the restrooms are on the same floor which access is only with a combo and they are kept clean. I take the stairs up but there's an elevator. Parking is easy. As new studio owners, Samantha and Tyler have built a wonderful community. Finally a great yoga studio in santee! I have practiced with multiple teachers here and taken different styles of class at the studio which have all been amazing. As a yoga teacher myself I feel like I can be pretty particular about the teachers I choose to practice with and the flow of the sequences, but I am so happy I have such an awesome place to practice in my own backyard! read more

The Balanced Yogi studio is AMAZING. I suffer (like many of us do) with low back problems and instead of long term medicine, I knew I needed to strengthen my core and back muscles. Yoga studios can be intimidating so I was very nervous to start this new Yoga journey but Udoka was so welcoming and helpful and just good energy to be around. Shout out Anne, same good energy and good human. I love love love the Mat pilates class. Unfortunately I am not able to attend because I no longer can afford it. That's absolutely NOT to say this studio is not affordable. The amount of classes per day and quality of the instructors is worth every penny. Such an amazing class! I took the yoga sculpt with Keshia and it was an incredible workout! The teacher was upbeat & encouraging and she somehow made a challenging workout feel really fun. She had great music and the class was also perfectly heated - enough where you get a great sweat going but not so hot that you feel like you could pass out.
