I realized I needed of a professional therapeutic massage therapist to get back to a good place. I did some research on yelp and was very impressed with the comments I found about April and Santee Massage. The office complex where April's business Santee Massage is close to the Ramada Inn in Santee. Her office is easy to find, it is the first office on the left (lower level). She shares this location with two talented acupuncture specialists. When you meet April you will find she is very personable and smart. She has over ten years of experience and has gone to school far surpassing time studying massage techniques off many studying this field. She is an expert. Before starting to work on me April asked targeted questions that came from over ten years experience. These questions helped her maximize the time she she spent doing the therapeutic massage. The detail of the questions let me know I was in good experienced hands. Some issues she covered were asking me If I wanted targeted massage specific to my areas in pain verses general massage. The massages was given Small office room one well suited with lights that can be dimmed and aromas to help enhance the therapeutic massage experience. She has a high quality table with a light blanket and sheet below. She even has fans that give a reassuring breeze while she works. Her skill has lead to many returning customers. As she worked on me I could see that her high reviews on Yelp were well deserved. She obviously knows what she is doing. She works with her hands following a guided plan. In her head Her pre-questions now act as a map she uses to move from one area to the next. She worked not only on areas that were causing me pain but also other areas as well. She explained to me how everything when it comes to your body and pain is interrelated. She had special methods she knows like holding up my legs up and folding them towards the main frame of my body relieving tension in my lower back (genius). All her training and knowledge she has gained in those ten years is paying off. From start to end April is very thorough she made sure as she worked that I was ok and not in pain from any of the work she was doing. She adjusted her techniques as needed. From my first appointment I can say April shows a sincere interest in wanting to help. She, because she is good is very busy. You may need a couple of weeks to be able to see her. Post massage: The overall experience was better than expected. I am very happy with the overall results. Yes I am a bit sore, but that is a good thing and to be expected, I think. She makes no promises but is so efficient at what she does that I truly believe she will be successful in helping me over time. Her prices are fair. I plan on seeng her for more sessions until my pain is under control. I fully believe April will using her skills help me feel a lot better. I highly recommend her. She has proven to me that she is very good at what she does.

Finally I decided to get practical and try someone local - I'm so glad I did. I have experienced different types of massage therapy, cupping, acupuncture, etc all over the world and Franchesca is as good a practitioner as anywhere I've been, at any price. She is thoughtful, really listens to your concerns, and is just a great person to spend the time with. She has worked wonders with the back and shoulder pain I've picked up working from a non-ergonomic home office and helped with some other chronic issues as well. I noticed there have been comments about scheduling - yes, she is super popular for good reason! But if you're a regular client and you schedule in advance I haven't found it to take any longer than anywhere else. Honestly, I'd rather wait a few days for an appointment and have an experience I know will be worth the time and money. Definitely a 5 star business I'm so glad is in Alpine!

" Wendy Uses Many Combo Massage Methods "…read more I went to see Wendy today at Therapeutic Massage By Wendy in El Cajon. Wendy greeted me very nicely, and asked me many questions about the parts of my body that needed attention. I was having a 90 minute massage. Wendy's massage room was large, very clean, and decorated very nicely. Her massage table was also very comfortable. Wendy uses many different types of massage methods all over your body to help the individual sections of your body to relax and feel better. She used Shiatsu pressure point massage, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Thai, Swedish and Craniosacral massage therapy all throughout my 90 minute massage. It was great to see a massage therapist using so many different types of massage therapy to help the customer feel the best they can feel. Normal massage Therapist only have 1 or 2 styles of massages they use on your body. The 90 minutes was so relaxing, and my stiff body parts felt so much better than they did when I entered the building. I will be bringing my wife back to see Wendy because of how Through Wendy was with the massage. Wendy did a nice job !

Here's what went right and wrong: Pros: -They were able to squeeze me in immediately. -Pricing is fair/decent. -Facility is clean and accepts credit card. Cons: -They never asked me what kind of massage I wanted, and there is definitely a huge language barrier. I told her I wanted deep tissue, with as much pressure as she could possibly do, and to spend the entire time on my back and shoulders. What I got instead was a 1 hour Swedish style full body massage. Because she didn't do the full hour on my shoulder like I specifically requested, my shoulder feels a little better but not completely... -There was a lack of instructions, likely due to the language issue. Most massage places will ask you once you walk into the room where you feel pain, then, they will tell you what level to undress to, where to leave your things, etc. That was not my experience. She literally walked me into the room, and then, closed the sliding door and gave me zero instructions. -There wasn't great privacy. I don't really care, but every other massage place I have been to is very careful not to expose your breasts or have the door open while you are not fully clothed. Again, that was not my experience here. Instead of a sheet to cover my body on the massage table, they gave me a body sized towel that really only covered my butt if I put it horizontally. Then, she came in as I was getting dressed, and I was in my bra, and she went to get me water with the door open. Overall, it was a good massage, and if I was in a pinch, I would return, but I'm honestly pretty surprised this place has all 5 star reviews, most of which are super recent, given I know others would be much more bothered by my experience than I was.
