She acted as if I had a contagious disease. I completely understand the need for caution and specialized training when it comes to prenatal fitness, but I was never told that I needed any kind of prerequisites prior to my class. To yell "oh fuck" roll her eyes and walked away from me without explanation or sensitivity, felt discriminatory and insensitive. It was a moment that made me feel excluded and unwelcome, at a time when feeling strong and supported is more important than ever. I sincerely hope the studio reconsiders or at least trains its staff to handle such situations with more empathy and professionalism. Expecting mothers deserve to be treated with respect, not as liabilities.

I was worried then that I'd never find similar quality elsewhere. I was SO wrong. A Balanced Yogi offered REAL yoga classes (not "gym" yoga), and they had an affordable, fair package that I was comfortable signing up for.) Sadly, I must part ways again - but for logistical reasons this time. This studio did not make me jump through hoops to cancel - in fact Tyler wished me the best and even offered a couple extra classes at no charge as a parting gift. She teaches a more classical style and clearly explains form and function, which built my confidence early on. Consistent warmups, always-changing flows, and uplifting energy that carries you through class. Jenni G. - A newer instructor to me and now a weekly favorite.
