    Master Bath Refinishing - After

    Master Bath Refinishing

I was looking for local refinishers to freshen up a non-standard sized bathtub. Master Bath…read moreRefinishing was very quick to reply via email and was able to give me quotes based off photos. It was $900 for the bathtub ($800 after a cash discount). I also got a quote for refinishing the sink vanities as well. Those were $450 each. But I opted to only do the bathtub. For the refinishing the bathroom needed to be clear of objects. I saw on Yelp someone else paid another refinishing company $3300 for a bathtub and two vanities so I know Master Bath Refinishing was a very competitive rate. I checked other companies and they didn't seem to offer refinishing in black. Master Bath was able to offer a gloss solid black. For the process people and pets need to vacate the housing during and a couple hours after. My bathtub was especially bad since it was refinished before/had a bad paint job they needed to remove. They gave me an arrival window of 8-10am. The two technicians were careful to lay down plastic wrap for a pathway to protect my home from dirt. They arrived around 10am and were finished around 4pm. Cecilia sent me a useful sheet about care along with the disclosure. What stands out is their customer service. For the refinishing it comes with a 5 year warranty! And yes they do honor it. I noticed a couple hours after the techs left that the glove they used to cover the tub spout had leaked so there was an imperfection by the drain. I emailed Cecilia and she offered a touch up appointment the next week! It's been several weeks of daily use and the bathtub still looks fantastic! No chipping or peeling. I'm very pleased with how my bathroom looks now!

I reached out via Yelp and didn't get a response after the initial response. After a little more…read morethan 1 week of waiting and having my other furniture refinish appointment get delayed, I read a review saying the owner was more responsive over text message and gave it a shot. It was about 11pm so I didn't expect a response until the next morning but I got rapid fire responses and was able to schedule an appointment the following week after confirming a few details (namely, insurance to cover the table if it is damaged) I wanted to re-finish an epoxy resin waterfall table that I messed up on and wanted to restore its matte finish. The table was picked up and I was told to expect it to be done within 1 week. About a week went by, I checked in for any updates and pictures and was told they just put on the first coat. Another week went by and the second coat was applied but was told the issue prior to the work is still visible. I was then upsold to switch to CV (previous was using rubio/osmo to finish). Being fairly unknowledgable about finishes, I asked a few questions and was just told it was better. I did some basic research (chatgpt, reddit, youtube, etc.) and was fine with it. It cost an extra $100 but the labor to re-sand the surface to remove the rubio applied was covered. All in all, about 3 weeks went by and I received the refinished product. Overall, I it looks as I wanted it to. Mauricio handled the initial pickup and subsequent re-delivery so the process is very convenient if you are busy and don't want to plan how to transport heavy furniture. Some notes: - Its best to reach out via text message to Mauricio and to do so at some regular cadence if you want updates. Perhaps calling would be more expedient if you have the time. - There's a lot of promises or statements that were not followed through (e.g. I'll send an invoice by end of day, I'll send updated pictures by end of day, etc.). See first point. - Estimate may be over-exaggerated. The project went from 1 week to 3 weeks. - It would be nice to do a pros/cons breakdown or simply spend a few sentence educating clients on the trade off of finishes (e.g. Rubio vs Osmo, Rubio vs CV, etc.).

    Steve's Hardwood Floors

I have been wanting to write this review for quite some time. We have lived in our home for 20…read moreyears and our maple hardwood floors were in desperate need of refinishing and we also wanted to extend the hardwood into the family room from the dining area. Two other contractors told us that they did not make that type of flooring anymore so we would either have to replace all of the hardwood, or live with it being two different kinds of boards. Then we found Steve. Talk about knowledgeable! This is a guy who really knows his stuff! And loves what he does! He found matching boards, quoted us a great and reasonable price, and got ready to start the job. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, there were some hiccups. When he ripped up the carpet in the family room, it was discovered that the subfloor was too moist. We waited a week hoping it would dry out, but no luck. Other contractors I feel would just go ahead anyway, but Steve refused to compromise He did not want the floor to eventually buckle. So he paused the job and waited until we got a moisture barrier installed and some other repairs. He then spent almost two weeks meticulously installing, staining, and sanding all our hardwood (entry way, hall, kitchen, dining area, and now the family room). It was quite the feat! And when he was finished I could not even imagine how gorgeous it turned out! Far exceeded my expectations! Steve is a true craftsman and there are not many of those left! This was two years ago and the floors still look amazing! And believe me, we are hard on them! Dogs, cats, people, spills, etc! If you want hardwood floors installed or refurbished, Steve is the man for the job! Plus, he is one of the nicest humans I have ever met and like I said, really, really, really loves what he does! And how many people can say that!
