I had already been waiting for a tow truck from 5:30 PM by the time Franco got to me at 9:30 PM. Not Franco or Rex Towing company's fault at all for that. We had great conversations on the way to where I'd ask him to drop off my car and I could tell he really cares about helping others with how he talked about the business. It's 1am in the morning, I go on Google and find a 24/7 hotline for tow trucks. They answered, I paid $250 straight away and they said it will be there in 30-40mins. After waiting OVER an hour I call them back and ask for an update with my tow truck and just then tell me that the tow truck broke down. After waiting longer than their expected time, they never called back to let me know. I'm extremely upset and exhausted. As I just start crying and canceled that service, I scroll through Yelp this time to search for a tow truck. First one I saw was Rex Towing. I call hoping I can get an answer and thankfully they did immediately. After getting my location and other information, they accept the job and even asked if I was "okay" since I'm pretty they could hear I was upset over the phone. Luckily, the driver was literally less than 10 mins away. Once he arrived and came out to greet me, he also reassured me and told me that "everything is gonna be alright". Franco was very kind and I was thankful that he was able to assist me.

Roadrunner Towing was called out and when they got to the home where the car was being dropped off at, the tow truck driver charged them $395 in cash. My daughter and two others tried to use their cards, but they were told the system was down for cards. Seems VERY suspect. Then I call today and was quoted $120 for a tow 1 mile or less. I told the lady that my kids were charged $395 in cash last night and then she said "oh yeah, that's the price if police make the call." I bet! That's totally BS and she knows it. If anything the police would have a better rate, not a more expensive one. I know what the driver did and she does too. He took advantage of a situation, demanded cash and now is hiding behind "policy". I'm a small business owner and know how to treat a customer, and Roadrunner Towing in Yucaipa should be ashamed of themselves for what they did to kids. He told me he would help me sell it by impounding it and selling it on my behalf, "as a friend," and pay me the proceeds. I know I should have never agreed to this, but I was in a bit of a bind and, up until that point, I had good friendly relationship with him. After he impounded and sold my car, he stopped taking my calls--up to the point of hanging up on me when I called him from an unidentified number, because I knew he was screening me. I'm pursing legal action (I have written evidence of our agreement, so feel confident about this), but it's been difficult to initiate proceedings given that he has multiple addresses and business names associated with his business. I believe this will be resolved soon--and I hope I am able to protect others with this review.

We were told that a citation had supposedly been left on the vehicle two weeks before the tow, but we never received any notice or saw any citation. What makes this even more frustrating is that the tow happened from a parking space that we pay for, and the situation was handled as if we had been given a fair warning when we were not aware of any warning at all. After the tow, we were charged nearly $800 to retrieve the vehicle. The company also initially refused to release the vehicle without physical proof of updated registration, despite payment already being made and the registration issue being addressed. The lack of communication, the unexpected financial burden, and the way this was handled left us extremely disappointed. Customers deserve transparency, proper notice, and fair treatment--not to feel like they are being taken advantage of. Shady shady SHADY business.
