This is probably my favorite coffee shop. I've been here twice and their Nutty Irishman is bomb! They have a really interesting menu, which I'm looking forward to try, but the best thing about their coffee is that it's very well balanced. I'm Hispanic, so I like my coffee on the stronger side and filtered's coffee is just perfect! Tasty and sweet! Also, the staff is always great and personable! A little pricey though...almost $6 for the 12oz cup, but hey,I'd rather help a local shop than give Starbucks my money :) read more

In support of Brandi's review concerning the employees discussion of Charlie Kirk's death. I was here today at the same time. I overheard the baristas discussing openly and loudly how they " can't possibly feel bad" and also laughing at their recollection of the video showing his death that " they knew he wouldn't make it". Brandi came in asking for the owners card. After she left the employees and friends began discussing how they would " vouch " for each other that this didn't happen like that, how Brandi was eavesdropping ( on a very loud public conversation) etc. everyone is entitled to their own beliefs but definitely something to consider before giving them your business. read more

Coffee shop bliss. Cozy yet plenty of seating. Friendly crew. Fantastic atmosphere. An excellent, straight-forward latte. I had the option to add sugar if I wanted, but otherwise the espresso was smooth and strong, while the milk well-steamed and a little foamy, just the way I like it. Spinach quiche or bacon quiche? Oh the choice was difficult, so I split them and was not disappointed. 5 star award: Local artists works are on display and for sale all around the shop. A card holder in the front makes it easy for other small business to gain exposure in the McKinney downtown community. I especially love the artist's board on the main counter. Hands down best coffee in down town McKinney. So many Jacobs! So many quiches!! So many coffee beans!!! I try to go everyday. Sometimes multiple times a day. I'll even bring some friends along too. Certainly beats that dairy queen down the road. read more

Boycotting the big chain coffee company so we stopped here on the way to a family lunch. Downtown McKinney is all under construction so it's crazy, but we got a spot right in front of filter(ed) and utilized the walk up window. Caramel macchiato was delicious and made correctly the first time. Something that cannot be said for the other guys. Blueberry muffin was fresh and crumbly. Mmmm My juice, the $10 one pictured (Salubrious lovely red) is hand pressed, made with beets cucumber apple and lemon and tastes so fresh! We will be back when we have more time and can come inside. read more

A really great place to get a cup of coffee. They really know their beans. I don't like coffee and was really impressed with their tea offerings. I had a cup of hot cocoa. Was it the best hot chocolate I've ever had? Nope, they failed to mix it properly and it wasn't as hot as it should be. That being said, have the coffee or tea. They were really understaffed. Apparently this hasn't changed. I tried their cinnamon roll. The bread was rather dense but the flavor was really good. They probably didn't allow the dough to rise properly. I also tried their bacon cheese quiche. That was very good! Flaky crust and really flavorful filling. I will be coming back to try their teas and their other quiches. read more

I love this coffee shop!! Went here for the first time today and loved everything about it. The barista Jack was awesome, the whole vibe and look of the shop is so cute and relaxing, the art makes it unique, and their drinks are so tasty! I got an iced raspberry mocha and it was amazing and I loved that I could actually taste the raspberry. Also tried the watermelon lemonade and it was very good, tasted like candy! Went on a Saturday during an arts/crafts festival. Place was mobbed with nowhere to sit. So we took it to go. Had a good vibe in there. Crew was rocking and pumping out orders and yet, they seemed very cheery and put out some good will! I ordered the Fidel & so did my friend. Excellent care put into making the drinks. Exactly what I was seeking this afternoon, needed a bump and got one. Distinctive flavors! Definitely would recommend this place. I've gone here twice. Once was on a Saturday night, and I had intended to spend some time studying but they were hosting a karaoke night (apparently this happens once a month) and I found the noise and chaotic atmosphere pretty unappealing for a coffee shop. The coffee was great though, and I took home a bag of beans from a local roaster. My second time there was this Sunday, and there was a line out the door with only two baristas taking orders and making drinks. I didn't have to wait too long, since I only ordered a drip coffee which they finished ahead of some bigger orders in front of me, but I felt bad for how under staffed they were that day. In the future I'll probably still stop in to grab whole bean coffee since the location is convenient for me, but anyone looking for a relaxing dine-in atmosphere might be better off elsewhere. read more

Amazing cappuccinos and lattes! Cute little coffee shop in Historic Down Town McKinney. There are only two coffee shops and their coffee shop makes the best quality foam (froth) compared to Snug on the Square. The only thing is that this establishment has a smaller seating are and very tiny patio area. What bothered me when we were here, was that the young barista took a few smoke breaks right in front of the store and then came back in and started making drinks. I just have a thing about smoking while on the job. Other than that it was a cute little coffee shop. I still would take the drive down to Down Town Frisco and go to Summer Moon. They have fire roasted specialty coffee with their secret ingredients for their Moon cream. read more

It was a bit crowded but the service was good and the environment and atmosphere was very groovy ...a little like Austin. I've been to this spot a few times early on the weekends and have really enjoyed it! Since I go pretty close to opening, parking has not been an issue. I love that there is an indoor space as well as a to-go window that you can order from outside. I've enjoyed flavored lattes (like the orange sweater) and the Nola cold brew. To my surprise Yelp provided a coupon for a Filtered coffee after I checked in! I wanted a larger size than the coupon specified so I ordered as such and was delighted to pay the difference of course. Unfortunately, I received the wrong size drink (ordered medium, received small) and my husband's drink (the Chubacabra) came in a size larger than he requested. Seems the barista confused our orders somehow...although the bill was correct, so that was ok. The place wasn't busy. It was clean but I had to ask and search for the condiments bar. The bar was located within seating areas that was inconvenient to others seated nearby. We'll probably try this place again but we won't go out of our way. Better than the Snug Hubby far, but not as big and the barista takes a smoke break in front of the store and then cones back into the coffee shop and makes coffee, I don't think I like that at all. Plus there was no warm in icing feel from the atmosphere or the employees there. read more

I wander into this little coffee spot one Friday morning when I was running early for an appointment in downtown McKinney. First, downtown McKinney is just lovely. It really has that small town feel and I wish I had more time to explore it. I went into Filtered on mission to find a light breakfast and a heavy coffee. I was met with great results on the coffee. They had a large menu and many options to customize, which I appreciated. My iced macchiato with Carmel was excellent. It had a unique flavor I assume that is from one of their signature coffees. The light breakfast was also achieved, although I wish there had been a few more options. I got a mini spinach quiche that I really enjoyed. I was surprised by the lack of crowd for 8:00 on a Friday morning? But, maybe the town is just a little sleepy and it picks up more about 9:00 or 10:00. I love when baristas are friendly and y'all to customers about their expertise and knowledge with coffee. With this being my first time in Texas, I had to find a good coffee spot. Yelped around and this place caught my eye! So glad we paid a visit here. I asked Nick for some recommendations and he suggested a Sopapilla Latte. He mentioned cinnamon in it and the fact that it was a highly ordered drink from when the shop first opened until now! The Sopapilla Latte was AHHHHMAAAZING! Thank you so much Nick! We were in McKinney for a wedding and Sunday morning we woke up craving coffee! Of course, I quickly got on yelp to find the nearest best coffee shop and that's how I stumbled upon Filtered. We packed up our suitcase, checked out of the hotel and made our way to Filtered. Filtered shares a reserved parking lot with two other places since the location doesn't offer many other parking options. As you walk into this cute coffee shop, you're hit with the most beautiful smells of coffee beans - it was dreamy. I ordered a latte and my hubby ordered a caramel macchiato. I came up to the outside coffee window and ordered an el chapo with oat milk and boy...that might as well have been the best culinary decision I've made in a hot minute. It was my first time leaving the house to order take out since March and I so appreciated how they had a coffee window for those that are more comfortable ordering to-go while having indoor seating for those that are comfortable with hanging around.
