We came here for lunch with a large group. The service was well prepared. When we arrived, the tables were already set with our salads, which was your basic salad with lettuce, tomatoes, julienned carrots, corn, boiled egg, and a little avocado. Then they distributed our pizzas from the wood-burning ovens. Al Prosciutto - salsa di pomodoro, mozzarella e prosciutto cotto (salsa de tomate, muzzarella y jamon cocido): Not bad, not great. The crust and cheese were nice, and the prosciutto was not too salty, but the sauce was a little lacking. Focaccetta - mozzarella e cipolla (muzzarella y cebolla): Good crust, as pizza from wood-burning ovens usually is. The onions were nice and sweet, but I thought they could have been baked a little more, and just a little less raw. Vanigilia Gelati: The meal finished off with vanilla gelato, topped with something that was a cross between dulce de leche & chocolate sauce. The texture was okay, but could have been creamier. One thing to note: the water pressure in the bathrooms was almost nonexistent, just a light trickle of water when I wanted to wash my hands... This was a pretty good place to organize a meal with a large group. Pizza is a safe choice for a lot of people. I wouldn't say this is a must try restaurant in Buenos Aires.

Truth be told, we were heading to Dill & Drinks, which we found in the latest Lonely Planet guide (daily lunch special that includes 2 cocktails (!)), but found the location (San Martin 986) was now a branch of Wasabi's Sushi. Wasn't feeling it, and Filo was across the street. Free stuff is always good and some bruschetta appeared while we were perusing the menu (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/filo-buenos-aires?select=8jwTfkIJzpPZe7VgKPu56w#WhjMYf6mP0PtDyetiHsqbg) The g/f got the Al Brie Salad (brie, lettuce, arugula, walnuts, eggs, smoked salmon, shrimp; with olive oil and lemon juice http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/filo-buenos-aires?select=8jwTfkIJzpPZe7VgKPu56w#BFMzlzT2rnIFUWB68QR51w). Pretty big with fresh ingredients. There's some grated cheese in addition to the brie making this a little heavier a salad than expected. I got the Baghette de Pan de Salvado con Lomo Fileteado rucula y salsa filo, AKA Steak (filet) Sandwich with argula & Filo sauce (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/filo-buenos-aires?select=8jwTfkIJzpPZe7VgKPu56w#SST03R6z6Jw1Bz3ZTCH8YA). Pan de Salvado is a wheat bran bread and this had black sesame seeds on top with a single ~5mm layer of filet inside (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/filo-buenos-aires?select=8jwTfkIJzpPZe7VgKPu56w#QGbJU6C_eghmM9DxTKavAA). The steak was really tender and I wished for more of it. The "Filo sauce" appeared to be a mix of mustard and mayonnaise (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/filo-buenos-aires?select=8jwTfkIJzpPZe7VgKPu56w#nnZYRFfbAqqiWg7aNIPZBw)

Perfect me time place to escape for dinner. The pizzas are great! This time I tried the spaghetti with clams and mussels from Patagonia. I ordered mine without the tomato sauce, it was excellent.

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant located in Buenos Aires! I discovered this place after asking…read moreour hotel where a good place to go eat dinner was within walking distance. The hotel recommended Amici Miei. We walked to the other end of the little plaza and located this cute little Italian restaurant on the second floor with some balconies over looking the plaza with tables. The location is spectacular. Very quaint, old school feel inside an old building. The balconies are small but hold table for 4. On a nice day like when we went (it was about 85 degrees F) was nice to look outside onto the plaza and people watch. As we ordered food, the quality of the dishes were top notch. Everything was fresh and tasted superb. The flavours were rich, not salty, not over/under cooked. All the dished that came out were nice and hot and tasted amazing. The bread served was fresh, crunchy outside, soft inside with butter and some red wine. This place if you didn't know you were sitting in Buenos Aires, you'd think you were in Italy! Service was great, very prompt and nice. As with any Argentine or foreign restaurant, you have to ask for your bill if you want to leave, otherwise they just let you be. Overall, I do believe this place is truly 5 star rating, food, quality, taste, ambiance and service. You won't be disappointed if you go here and the price point is very good for the food, amount and quality.

I arrived right when they opened at 8 and was the only one there until a few people trickled in around 8:30 or so. By the time I left at 9:15, more people were arriving. I'd expect by 10, it would be packed. Before my meal arrived, they brought out a basket of garlic bread, focaccia and breadsticks with a garbanzo bean spread. I also ordered a cold Patagonia cerveza while I waited for my main course. I had green Papardelle pasta with mushrooms, bacon and cherry tomatoes in a light olive oil type sauce. It was very enjoyable as compared to a heavy cream sauce. The only thing missing was some parmesan cheese, which was provided before my meal arrived. Unlike most every other dinner I've had in BA, I left feeling satisfied, not like I was about to burst! The service was stellar and very friendly. Definitely check this place out if you happen to be in San Telmo.

Situated in the Recoleta neighborhood, it's known for its house-made pastas. And, ultimately, yes, I was grown up enough to eat there, although, since I'm not a wine drinker, I felt I was missing out on the total experience. The decor of the restaurant is very elegant with lots of wood. We dined on the second level and were treated to an excellent view of the diners below. Being as there weren't many non-alcoholic drink options I had water. This is one area of opportunity. I would've loved to have something like a fruity cocktail to complement my dish. As an appetizer, we had the Corn Polenta with Prawns. It was an interesting dish with tender prawns and a seafood broth poured over the polenta. Very good. For my entree, I had a very rich pasta dish called Tagliatelle with Creamy Spinach and Ham. This was a delicious dish- let me tell you, the standout was the ham which was very mild and not heavily salted. That dish was a 5/5! For dessert I chose the Panna Cotta, it was a little too sweet for my liking. We also passed on the complementary Limoncello at the end. Overall, I really enjoyed our visit to Sottovoce, the main dish was spectacular, but the other elements bookending the main were a little less than spectacular. Nonetheless, I would definitely return for the Tagliatelle, but next time try a different appetizer and dessert.
