I enjoyed all the food I had at Horno Argentina Cumana - Empanada de lomo picante was tasty - Cazuela espinaca - I also enjoyed the spinach casserole - Locro casserole was good too The restaurant is cute with great ambience. It's a good place to hang out with friends, good service, and has reasonably priced wine, etc.

Great location in Recoleta and amazing ambiance. Great intimate setting or to meet friends. I ate here twice during my trip to Argentina since I liked the food so much. 1st visit I had canalones de espinacas.. tasty . Of course I had to have wine .. it's listed as penguinos on the menu & they have 1/2 penguinos too! They are so cute to drink from. The second visit I had pizza . I had to return to taste wood oven pizza. Loved it! They have a sister restaurant in Las Canitas called Las Cholas also a great restaurant and Las Canitas is a cute town with bars and restaurants not to far from Recoleta. They have the penguinos too (wine)! Enjoy!

If you only have time for one meal in Buenos Aires, make it at Cumaná. You can find traditional Argentinian food here - like what locals actually eat on a regular basis, and no it's really not just Argentinian steak 24/7. I ordered two dishes: - humitas (corn cakes with cheese wrapped inside corn husks) 5/5 - vacio al hornito - a large meat dish 5/5 The service was nothing to write home about but also not bad enough to deduct stars because the food was so good. Just a couple of complaints about the service: - When I arrived at 6pm, the restaurant was mostly empty, yet it still took the waitress forever to come greet me. - When I placed my order, the waitress kept asking if I wanted the vacio al hornito to take away, after repeatedly telling me how large the dish was. I said no, I'd prefer to just eat it there. She finally succumbed, brought me my food, and watched in horror as I proceeded to devour everything in front of me. In her defense it was a lot of food and I was stuffed by the time I finished it all, and I am a pretty small person, but I know how much I can eat and hate wasting food more than almost anyone I know, so her repeated concerns and doubts were just slightly irritating to me. TLDR; Best authentic Argentinian food ever, you must come here.

If you, like me, quickly grew weary of the offerings of (admittedly delicious and abundant) pastries, pizza, and empanadas during your stay in Buenos Aires but still want to try something authentically Argentine, this place is exactly the ticket. This was my first time trying Argentine cuisine from the Northwest, but I was delighted by the hearty stews and corn-based dishes offered here. Highly recommend the locro for a change of pace, but the pizzas and empanadas looked delicious as well. My favorite dish I've eaten in Argentina so far!

Perfect place for calzones and pizza. Food is all fresh, and portions are HUGE! You really can't go wrong with anything you order here. I tried the veggie calzone and it was delicious. Beware tho that although it's a modern establishment they only accept cash

Excellent typical Northwest Argentine cuisine. The menu has a very wide selection. The service is great! The food superb! However no air conditioning... and it can get very hot inside during the summer.

A Good hearty meal with generous portions! We are a family of 4 with 2 kids . I small pizza was way too much for 1 kid & so was 1 order of oven chicken leg. I tried the Delicious soup (Locro) with beans, pork , beef & corn. Again, unable to finish it although a great meal!! Didn't give a 5 since I find the place a bit cramped, too dark & the fact they don't take was a bummer!

Food: 3.5/5.0 Service: 2.5/5.0 Value: 3.0/5.0 Decor: 3.0/5.0 Overall: 3.5/5.0 The food is merely okay, not worth raving about like some of the other reviews seem to be doing. The service was a little abrupt and appeared to be slow for non-locals (dinging the service but not too hard given what I saw with the other tables). The pizzas are harder to assess because Argentine pizza is different from the standard styles usually found in the US and Italy, but I would advise someone who has tried the better slices in the US to skip that part of the menu. This is a reasonable spot for a casual lunch, but not worth a repeat visit in my opinion.

Every time we come to Buenos Aires we make an effort to go to Cumaná. The food is great and the atmosphere is nice. Some of our favorites are the empanadas and they are very good. We really enjoy their pizza. I've also had Lentajas and Lomo and really enjoyed Have a good meal

We went to have dinner at Cumana because we read that the empanadas were very good. Indeed the empanadas and the wine were wonderful. The price was not prohibitive we paid $480 Argentinian pesos for the empanadas and a bottle of a very good Malbec. The service was good and the place was down to earth. The restaurant was not busy, but then we discovered that people eat dinner really late in Buenos Aires, and the place got packed. Overall a great experience.

This was our second night in Buenos Aires and finding the restaurant was very easy. When you walk in, the hostess said it was a cash only place, which made us a little nervous but we went in anyway. The wine red walls, stone accents and tea candles on the tables were charming. We all got something different (empanadas, salads and pasta). Everything was delicious and served on or in wooden bowls and plates. With a tip we ended up paying 815 pesos which was $33 American dollars for three people (they have Spanish and English menus, the prices are on that Spanish menu). Would definitely go back/recommend it to a friend. Do not get the chicken empanadas, 2 out of the 3 of us got food poisoning.

Squash and beef strew... out of this world.

Incredible! I read about and heard about Cumaná before I made it there for lunch with a friend. I had the pastel de calabaza y lomo. It was hot and swimming in delicious cheese. The beef was juicy and tender, and the sweet squash complimented it perfectly. I didn't mean to, but I devoured the whole thing. My friend had a deliciously cheesy pasta dish with spinach. We were both happy campers. I'm taking my parents here when they come to visit... For some good, hearty argentine food!

We got takeout of a pizza and a salad! The place was hopping! It took about 30 min to be ready but worth the wait!

Tried the spicy beef and a cheese empanada. Both were tasty. Wish they came with some dipping sauce, but I know that is not customary.
