    Seafood pasta for two

Having steak the night before we decided to try Italian for a change of pace while in Buenas Aires. Marcelo's is located on the canal in Buenas Aires with lots of other restaurants to choose from while you walk along the pavement. The restaurant was somewhat hard to find since everyone else had diners relaxing on the outside patio. Marcelo's had the outside closed and the easiest way to get to there front door was go through Starbucks and circle back. Strike one! We arrived a little late so I surprised and a little concerned that that we were their first customers. Hmmmmm! Strike two! The wait staff was a bit stuffy and definitely old school. All male waiters! Maybe strike three but wait. The small margarita pizza we ordered as an appetizer was delicious and the seafood fish for two was actually enough for three. Plus they really didn't skimp on the shrimp. More than a dozen good sized shrimp!! Can be made with regular or green pasta. And! It tasted home made. The risotto and beef dish we ordered was also for three and like before there was enough for three. In fact we took the leftovers back to the hotel and had it for lunch the next day. Excellent food! Worth the stuffy attitude and hard to find location. When we rolled out. two and half hours later the place was almost full. If there was more time I'd definitely ho back and highly recommend!

Some of the best Italian food I've had!! We ended up here after a long day of drinking and needed some top notch Italian to soak the booze up. This was a recommendation from my Aunt who lives in BA. Memories of that night include two amazing dishes: - Parmigiana risotto - Cheesy, creamy, the perfect al dente texture. It was well covered with fresh arugula. Not only did this hit the spot in the restaurant - the portion was HUGE and this was polished off over the next two days. - Pesto Gnocchi - This was a non menu item that was requested. The best gnocchi my boyfriend said he ever had. The pesto was so incredibly fresh, and the gnocchi perfectly cooked. This monster portion only lasted one more night. Great ambiance, amazing views of the waterfront in Puerto Madero. Can't wait to come back

The hotel recommended Amici Miei. We walked to the other end of the little plaza and located this cute little Italian restaurant on the second floor with some balconies over looking the plaza with tables. The location is spectacular. Very quaint, old school feel inside an old building. The balconies are small but hold table for 4. On a nice day like when we went (it was about 85 degrees F) was nice to look outside onto the plaza and people watch. As we ordered food, the quality of the dishes were top notch. Everything was fresh and tasted superb. The flavours were rich, not salty, not over/under cooked. All the dished that came out were nice and hot and tasted amazing. The bread served was fresh, crunchy outside, soft inside with butter and some red wine. This place if you didn't know you were sitting in Buenos Aires, you'd think you were in Italy! Service was great, very prompt and nice. As with any Argentine or foreign restaurant, you have to ask for your bill if you want to leave, otherwise they just let you be. Overall, I do believe this place is truly 5 star rating, food, quality, taste, ambiance and service. You won't be disappointed if you go here and the price point is very good for the food, amount and quality.

I arrived right when they opened at 8 and was the only one there until a few people trickled in around 8:30 or so. By the time I left at 9:15, more people were arriving. I'd expect by 10, it would be packed. Before my meal arrived, they brought out a basket of garlic bread, focaccia and breadsticks with a garbanzo bean spread. I also ordered a cold Patagonia cerveza while I waited for my main course. I had green Papardelle pasta with mushrooms, bacon and cherry tomatoes in a light olive oil type sauce. It was very enjoyable as compared to a heavy cream sauce. The only thing missing was some parmesan cheese, which was provided before my meal arrived. Unlike most every other dinner I've had in BA, I left feeling satisfied, not like I was about to burst! The service was stellar and very friendly. Definitely check this place out if you happen to be in San Telmo.

Situated in the Recoleta neighborhood, it's known for its house-made pastas. And, ultimately, yes, I was grown up enough to eat there, although, since I'm not a wine drinker, I felt I was missing out on the total experience. The decor of the restaurant is very elegant with lots of wood. We dined on the second level and were treated to an excellent view of the diners below. Being as there weren't many non-alcoholic drink options I had water. This is one area of opportunity. I would've loved to have something like a fruity cocktail to complement my dish. As an appetizer, we had the Corn Polenta with Prawns. It was an interesting dish with tender prawns and a seafood broth poured over the polenta. Very good. For my entree, I had a very rich pasta dish called Tagliatelle with Creamy Spinach and Ham. This was a delicious dish- let me tell you, the standout was the ham which was very mild and not heavily salted. That dish was a 5/5! For dessert I chose the Panna Cotta, it was a little too sweet for my liking. We also passed on the complementary Limoncello at the end. Overall, I really enjoyed our visit to Sottovoce, the main dish was spectacular, but the other elements bookending the main were a little less than spectacular. Nonetheless, I would definitely return for the Tagliatelle, but next time try a different appetizer and dessert.
