The food here was fantastic! Set across the street from Recoleta Cemetery, at Recoleta Mall, you'll find this delicious restaurant. Originally, we had not planned to eat here, but a torrential downpour came out of nowhere left us stranded and hungry in the vicinity of the mall, and this seemed like a good place. Even though Quotidiano is in the mall, the entrance from inside the mall is closed, so you have to enter through the street entrance. Now, to characterize Quotidiano would be to say it's part bakery, part Italian and all deliciousness! The pasta was freshly made and serve a perfect al dente. We tried the Puttanesca Tagliatelle and fried ravioli- all of which was great! I was also having a bit of a sweet tooth moment and ordered a banana shake, which was the BEST BANANA SHAKE of my entire life! The atmosphere is great, it was busy and the smalls in the air were intoxicating- you know you're in for a treat when the air in the restaurant is fragrant and in a way is a glimpse into the meal itself. The service was a little inattentive at times, but given that there was a massive rainstorm going on, and the power flickered on and off a few times; I'd assume there was other stuff going on behind the scenes. No biggie. We needed to ride out the storm anyway, so no worries about that. It was also fun to look at other diners plates and appreciate all the beautiful and tasty dishes they were eating. They charge a reasonable cubiertos price about 2.000 for a group of two. I had their quiche with spinach and egg and was surprised by the texture of the crust. It was more soft and doughy than I expected. Most quiche crust is a short crust pastry and tends to be crumbly, and this crust was decidedly not that. It felt like I was eating bread. I didn't mind, personally. It was very filling and I ended up taking half of it home. The lettuce it came with was fresh. They provide you fresh olive oil and salt. Like most dishes I've had in Argentina, I find that I need to add salt or black pepper to enhance the existing flavors. Unfortunately, there was no black pepper provided at this restaurant. The pasta was supposed to be a ziti with a mushroom sauce but as you can tell from the pictures - this was not ziti. We came last night looking for a place to eat pasta after having meat all day the previous day and this pearl of a place popped up in our search so we decided to try it. When we arrived, there were people waiting outside for a table, which is usually a good sign if people are willing to wait a while for a table. So we decided to do the same and wait. I'm glad we did because the food was excellent. Once you are seated you get nice warm bread wrapped like a gift, which I opened excitingly because I was starving. As an appetizer we ordered the eggplant parmigiana which we shared three adults and came with a little salad on the plate. It was delicious. For my children we ordered the tagliolini with a white sauce, which they devoured (both showed me thumbs up when I asked them how it was), so kid approved. My father and I ordered a new dish on the menu which was the ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese topped with a truffle sauce and mushrooms. We both really enjoyed it. My only criticism is it could have had a bit more truffle oil but still very delicious. My wife ordered the telephone cord pasta with a tomato sauce, ricotta and pesto. Another great dish. As far as desserts we ordered the Sicilian Cannoli and the black and white chocolate mousse. We ate them so fast didn't get to take a picture. The other great thing about this place is they make great cocktails. My father ordered a Negroni and my wife and I ordered the Cynar Julip. Delicious!!! The service was exceptional. Our server took great care of us and you can tell she wanted us to have a great experience. All the staff work together as a team. There is a nice flow. Once you get your pasta dish, using hand signals you immediately have someone offering fresh grated parmigiana cheese. Anything you needed anyone of the staff members were happy to help. As far as the ambiance, is very nicely decorated with a mixture of elegance but fun and not uptight at all with messages written on some walls. Heard the Italian food in Argentina was really good so we knew we had to try it! My sister and I happened upon this place and we're so glad we stopped in for dinner. The gnocchi was so pillowy and soft. There's nowhere in the States that has gnocchi like this, and I worked at a family owned restaurant in New Jersey. The burrata was absolutely delicious. The service was great and everyone was friendly. Funny story, there was a leaf bug walking along camouflaged in the salad but thankfully the manager was near by and he was able to bring us a new one. Honestly, after eating so much meat for 3 days, I needed something that did not have meat. Enter Quotidiano. A pasta place in BA that seems to be super popular with everyone. It is because most Argentines have Italian ancestry. Many Italians live in Argentina so the Italian culture is huge here. Tons of people were here during happy hour and almost impossible to get outside seating (COVID times). We got seated inside unfortunately but that's ok. The inside is a bit crowded for me in my opinion so I was wary and tried to eat quickly. Don't assume that everyone speaks English in BA so really try to learn a good amount of Spanish if you are traveling to Argentina. Our pastas were great and also ordered some cocktails which were great as well. We paid using our American credit card which is not a problem in BA restaurants. This seems to be a good spot for drinks so highly recommend their outside patio for HH. read more

A new spot, just opened up, serving pretty much all day long, lunch and dinner focused on Italian food - particularly pastas - in fact, they're calling it a "pasta bar". The "they" behind this light, airy space are the owners who are also behind Sottovoce, El Burladero, Fervor, and Sexto - some of my favorite spots in town for different cuisines. Not surprisingly, it's well run, very professional, and very attentive. Well, mistakes do happen. I was with a friend, one of the owners of a favorite pizzeria here, and we wanted to try the piadinas - we ordered up the prosciutto version and got the cured salmon version. Decided to go for it, and it was quite good, though I still want to go back and try the other, though 200 pesos is a little pricey for what amounts to an individual sized pizza. A couple of pastas (180 pesos apiece) - agnolotti stuffed with chicken and herbs and tossed in a simple but absolutely delicious butter, cheese, and herb sauce; and tortelloni filled with veal, in a rich, satisfying "piemontese" sauce with hazelnuts. Some of the best pastas I've eaten in BA - honestly, even better than their own at Sottovoce! They make gelato "in the moment" - it's sort of a soft serve version, but far more satisfying than, say, Dairy Queen. We split a cup of the mixed chocolate and vanillas. Quotidiano is also open at breakfast time. It's not so Italian at that point (neither is their weekend brunch menu), but bang on delicious - a simple breakfast with coffee or a pot of tea, four slices of housemade bread, each different (one of the best ryes I've had since moving to Argentina), accompanied by cream cheese and two different housemade marmalades. You must go here! Everything about this place is great! Would definitely recommend any of their pastas. Be aware they will charge you for water and butter, but most places will do the same in BA. They have several servers who speak English and they are happy to explain the menu to you. Their prices seem a little on the higher end but the food makes it worth it. After being presented with the pasta menu in the late afternoon, we ordered a bottle of wine and expected a leisurely late lunch only to be advised after the wine was opened that no pasta would be served at this time of day - only sandwiches and hamburgers. Okay. We ordered a sandwich and a hamburger. Two wait staff stood opposite the table and stared at us (not just for a few minutes) while we ate. Very strange as two retired Canadians we are not known for stealing the cutlery. Then the children arrived and took over the space. While the restaurant cannot manage or be accountable for its patrons, the noise and general disruption was intense. When the manager who had walked by us at least a dozen times asked about our meal we said we were disappointed that there was no pasta in a pasta bar. He shrugged and left us waiting a very long time for our bill. Cab't believe that Quotdiano is part of the same restaurant family as Fervor where we enjoyed a magnificent lunch. Four of us dined here yesterday evening. Our first time, but J&P have been here several times. There was a 20 minute wait, unfortunately, because they don't take reservations. Once inside, we received good service, although it's impossible to know which person is your server. Someone new appears every time. Personally, I prefer the relationship that develops between patron and server at the table, as well as the conversation. We started with the burrata, which was nice. Enough for everyone to have a few bites of their 1/4 of the cheese. I ordered the Plata Del Dia (today's special), but soon J&P were describing how tasty the pasta are and regret came over me. Within 2 minutes a new server appeared and apologized that they had run out of the Plata Del Dia. Eureka!! So I order the pasta with fruitti di mare (seafood). It was splendid, although rather sparse on actual seafood; perhaps 30-35 grams. C had the Quinoa con vegelates asados (quinoa with grilled veges) and enjoyed it. J had the agnolotti de pollo , very good, and P had Tortelloni. Everyone was quite satisfied. Delicious! That's how I would describe Quotidiano! For a delicious dinner at an affordable price, this is the place to be. I ordered the pasta with pancetta and egg and the flavor was fantastic. I also tried my friend's pasta which was a marinara pasta with olives and it was bursting with flavor for such a simple pasta. The servers were very attentive and even asked the chef to accommodate my friend's request for a vegan dish. Needless to say, we all enjoyed the experience. I would suggest to arrive a bit earlier than the usual dinner hour in Buenos Aires as the place gets full very fast. We could see a long line of people forming while we were having dinner. I wouldn't want to stand in line hungry masked by the incredible aroma in the restaurant. But then again, if I had to, it would definitely be worth it! The wine selection is pricier than most, but if you are looking for alcohol free options, the ginger juice was plenty enough for 2-3 people and was incredibly refreshing.
