    ceviche clasico -meh

You are started off w homemade Chips and two dips: rocoto and ocopa. Both excellent and the chips too. Ceviche Classico - is good. I rated it 3.75/5. Perhaps the le he at the bottom as too salty and it needed more heat and definitely garlic. The portion was good. The fish quality itself was excellent. Shenzi tiradito - I think that's what it was called. This was a solid 10/5. I would get three plates and call it a day. The sauce is slightly spicy, w tiny bits of garlic and onion and it has a good tang w the perfect amount of salt. The fish here looks like the same of the ceviche however, it is from a certain part of the fish because it melted like butter. This also had small slices of scallops which were excellent. As per usual, I tipped the plate and scooped all that delicious juice. Mint ginger lemonade - meh. I know, that one is on me...who gets mint ginger lemonade? Well, I have had it in a few places already and there was a spot that made it perfectly. To the point that it inspired me to make some when I get home and also...I proclaimed this year to be the year of mint. I'm going to use mint on everything. ANticucho corazón - skip. Little half potatoes are dry...and the anticucho itself was overcooked and the marinade of the anticucho was weak. Here's the thing, if I can make it better than I can be disappointed. It's just la our intensive to make at home. Causa de pollo is roughly 8" x 3" x 2.5"H. It's really good. As you know cause should have a layer of mashed and dressed potato and ofcourse this does. Your only complain may be that this causa is too soft and there are no texture contrasts. That's on you, so be warned, I thought it was great. Who doesn't love a dish presented w mini hard boiled quail eggs? So cute. Nigiri Nikkei ...three pieces of little mountain rice topped w a butterflied shrimp. This is another dish I would pig out on. It was excellent. We were two people and it was recommended, we ordered plenty. Which was true and it also meant I didn't have a second stomach to try an entree. So I don't know what I missed there. In conclusssion....their Nikkei and raw fish/ seafood game is STRONG here. So opt on those....a few of those....because it's excellent in flavors and quality

He vuelto despues de 3 años, mantiene el alto nivel de comida fusion con ese toque peruano que tanto gusta. Los postres muy ricos pero muy grandes son para 2 o 3 personas facilmente.

We came to Argentina in January for a wedding but were more excited for all the different kind of food we would be eating. We went online and found this restaurant as one of the best and it definitely was! We had a reservation for 7 people and we got seated right away outside in a perfect spot. The service was incredible and the food was 10x better. Everything we ordered was delicious from the different types of ceviche to the shrimps and octopus. If you like Peruvian food or seafood fusion then you must try Le Mar and cal in advance for a reservation. Outside seating is amazing so I suggest asking to be seated outside. Make sure to get the drinks too!

Delicious food! We were 7 people and ordered many dishes to share, highly recommended. My favorites were the ceviches (especially the Nikkei), and the black rice. The tiraditos were also great. The only thing we didn't like was a big plate with fried seafood, it was kinda meh and nothing you couldn't get elsewhere, not worth it. Service was good except we asked 1000 times for the heater at the bar to be turned on and were ignored, and because it was chilly out, I got a fever the next day. Our table was next to the bar and they said people at the bar could complain about overheating. We were a big table so it was complicated to move.

This was the first restaurant we tried in Buenos Aires. It was completely empty when we arrived but it was packed when we left. If you don't plan on eating dinner early then I suggest getting a reservation. We had the mixed ceviche, a squid ink rice dish, and a fish dinner. Flavor wise everything was outstanding and so was the service. The ceviche was my favorite dish because I like strong vinegar bases. So if that isn't your thing do not get it. The rice dish was great but I wish it came in a smaller size. The waitress said it was for two people, but you could feed a family of 4 with it. Also the rice was slightly undercooked. I would definitely come back but on a super empty stomach because the portions are not small!

One of our favorite spots in San Francisco. Yet the Buenos Aires experience was ok in terms of service. Food was great though.

Place is not bad at all, it's a good one but... drinks (eg. pisco sour), a very disgusting one. Food is overpriced.

About a 20 min Uber ride from our Airbnb apartment, it also allowed us a glimpse into Palmero. We made online reservations through their WhatsApp number. Quickly seated around 7.30pm before the crowd started to arrive. Fortunately, our server spoke English too. The fried seafood appetizer was a large tasty portion of shrimp and calamari. The server provided additional red sauce when requested. My pisco sour was very good although a bit too much whipped whites on the top. Recommend to request on the rocks next time. The table next to us, ordered a salad which was very large, probably an appetizer for 4! Service was very polite and not too slow. I enjoyed the fresh river fish for my entree. We skipped dessert as we had been eating at too many bakeries every morning for breakfast! Palermo in that area around 9pm or so was not very exciting. Other restaurants and lots of food delivery bicycle riders hanging about.... It would be nice to return with more of a plan to explore the area. Easy to request a ride back to Recoleta and catch some sights along the way!

Here, the menu is focused on just freshwater fish. Among ten appetizers and nine main courses, all are freshwater fish, with the exception of one vegetarian and one meat dish in each category. As of our visit, the freshwater fish on offer were pacú, dorado, boga, and surubí. Three of us went for delicious deep-fried surubí empanadas! And served with hot sauce on the side on request. 45 pesos apiece. You get little complimentary ramekins of pickled white butter beans, and they were so good, we ordered up a full appetizer order of them. A bit steep at 180 pesos for the small sized bowl that we got - for that price, this bowl ought to be full! Stick with the free ones. A good ceviche - the flavors were all there, though surprisingly, given the fish choices, the one they use for the ceviche is the boga, which has a kind of chewy texture to it naturally. I think we all would have liked it more if made with surubí, a classic of littoral cuisine up along the Paraná river. It did need a little more heat, even with the requested "make it picante" - so we added some of the hot sauce from the empanadas. 350 pesos. Two of our number ordered up the grilled pacú, our waiter swiftly returned to let us know that the only pacú in house were huge, and the kitchen recommended just one order of a big fillet to share. Good choice, and they gave us a price discounted to somewhere between one and two orders. Perfectly cooked, rich, and served with a choice of sides - french fries, mashed potato, grilled vegetables; plus rice. 370 pesos regularly, we got the double version for 600. Our waiter highly recommended his personal favorite, the grilled dorado with leek cream sauce. Excellent! Even with the grilled head staring at us. But that turned out to be a plus, because of course, there's that delicate cheek meat that's so good... 450 pesos One of the group, of course, had to be contrary, and ordered the ribeye steak. Cooked just the way he ordered it. The accompaniments a little odd - a sort of fruity wine sauce, and a very bizarre mix of mashed potatoes and smoked eggplant that didn't work texturally or flavorwise. 370 pesos The one other disappointment, the "grilled vegetables" which turned out to be just a few strips of grilled vegetables laid atop a bowl of undressed arugula. If that's what you're offering, let us know that, because that's not a "side of grilled vegetables", at least not in our book. They were tasty, just too few of them, and the salad was like an afterthought. All in all, love the space, great service, it's a delight to have a place for freshwater fish in town again. And, for the most part, great food. For all the above food, plus three rounds of fresh brewed iced tea, and tip, we spent 2400 pesos, 600 apiece.

A distinguished and very fine seafood restaurant in Palermo Hollywood…read more Expensive. That is your problem. Not theirs. Reservations only. Don't count on talking your way in at the door. This is true even if the restaurant will be 2/3 empty all night. This is because, more than any other restaurant I have encountered ... The house is absolutely positively averse to food waste. They want to know EXACTLY how many people are coming every night. They buy just enough food To serve exactly X dishes to customers - a number known in advance, And throw away exactly Y dishes - the dishes that customers did not order. They know exactly what X and Y will be every night. When my wife and I were the first people in the restaurant, And we both ordered Salmon with Miso - we found there was just one copy of that dish that would be served that night. My wife got the one copy. From both a business standpoint and the point of view of managing quality in the kitchen, this policy makes total sense. Other restaurants don't do this or don't have to do it ... But I see what Chipper is trying to accomplish. * * * Everything we had at Chipper was utterly superlative. My wife's one dish of Salmon with Miso was dramatically good. However, I got a house staple ... The pasta with seafood sauce. This is a dish for which they are known, So they make a lot of this one. The seafood pasta would easily justify the reputation of the establishment. It is an utterly satisfying wonderful dish. The only other place I have had seafood pasta this good Was in an Argentine diaspora restaurant in Leme in Rio de Janeiro. I have thought about that dish for years. Chipper's stands in fine company with that legendary Rio de Janeiro bowl of pasta. * * * Desserts may be wonderful at Chipper. But keep in mind, Chipper is a few doors away from Alchemy. Alchemy is one of the finest if not the finest ice cream shops in Buenos Aires. Never never never never never never turn down a chance to get ice cream at Alchemy. So we did the morally right thing. But for appetizers and main courses, You are not going to beat Chipper if you like fish. Yeah, you have to make administrative arrangements to get into the place. But you have to make administrative arrangements to fly to Buenos Aires in the first place. * * * Both sets of complex administrative arrangements are worth it.

They have a particularly nice clam chowder, very easy to recommend. In fact, i recommend it. Try sitting on the patio in winter with a bowl of their soup. So worth it. Only real downside i can see is the price; it's not a cheap place to eat. I think it's worth the price, but i'm accustomed to paying San Francisco prices.
