    Variety pinchos

Perfect casual place to eat homemade spanish food . Excellent service , I highly recommend sitting at the bar if you feel like chatting with neighboors and sharing tips of to do things in town. Recommend the variety plate of pinchos and be open for red wine recommendations. Well deserved tips are cash only!

Very good lunch spot with "tapas" that are on the large side. We arrived at about 1PM on a Friday and the place was almost empty, yet all the tables were reserved, so we sat at the bar. Within 30-45 minutes, the place was packed - so if you want a table, go early or make reservations. The bar was very comfortable, though, with high stools and a good view of all the food coming out of the kitchen. My knowledge of Spanish is pretty rudimentary, so after puzzling over the Spanish menu for a couple minutes, I accepted the offer of an English menu. However, I can read just enough Spanish to realize that most of the "dishes of the day" aren't on the English menu. So - if you want to try what the locals are eating, break out your Spanish-to-English dictionary, amigos. I was feeling brave enough to order off the Spanish menu and chose the peppers stuffed with salmon. It was not exactly what I thought it would be - the dish was served cold, and the red peppers were stuffed with a creamy salmon mixture. I was expecting spicy green pimento peppers stuffed with hot salmon. Part of the adventure of navigating a foreign language, I guess. Not sure I'd order it again, but the dish was very attractive and fresh-tasting. My companion raved about the black risotto he ordered. The wine list is fantastic - I enjoyed a couple glasses of an Argentinian Malbec. I would definitely come back to Tancat with a Spanish-speaking friend.

This was my first trip to Bariloche. My husband's second trip. He is a native of Argentina so I am fortunate to have him to translate for me. This restaurant is a lovely restaurant. We had two servers Mike who is a native of New Hampshire, and Tatiana who is a native of Russia. I got the tenderloin with potatoes and mushrooms my husband got the trout. Both dishes were delicious and the price was very reasonable. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and a beautiful view. We received wonderful customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the that is traveling in the area. As a bonus there's a couple of native birds that come to feed at the restaurant near their patio and feed.

First time in Argentina and loving all the reviews of this place I decided to try it out. The menu was extensive. They also speak English. I sat at the bar as I was alone but this was also common with guests who doesn't have a reservation. Servings was quite a decent size. I ordered fried calamari. It was nice and crunchy and really tasty. I asked the waiter for some lemon wedges which was great they had that. They also have tapas style food which you can order if you're going with a large group. And they're very generous with their wine pouring. Right to the rim! It gets really busy with a mix of tourists and locals alike. I would suggest making a reservation to save waiting or missing out altogether. The staff was super friendly, the ambience was lively and the food smelt amazing. I wasn't able to try all the food but I would definitely go back here as the whole experience was amazing.

Went trusting yelp reviews, place didn't disappoint! They have an english menu, seating is very spanish and the bar is awesome. They have some great wines and the food is just amazing. I ordered the black risotto with octopus, squid and shrimp in it. It was delicious, really look me back to Spain. I ordered a glass of Malbec and it was really good too. The server was very prompt and understood english. Since I was alone, I ate at the bar, but the seating was pretty good too. Must visit if you are staying in Microcenter.

I really wanted to like this place. It is a nice little hole in the wall type restaurant and wine bar that seems like it would be amazing. The decor is very nice and has a very comfortable atmosphere. For being such a small place it is very packed with people. The calimari I ordered however was burnt and the potatoes were very bland. I don know it it was just an off night or not. The rest of the food here looks and smells great. I think I would give this place another try because it seems that my experience may be skewed. But for now I have to only give 2 stars.

Because we had the whole place to ourselves, our host spent a bit of time going over their extensive menu. After detailed and fun explanations, we opted for his recommendation of a "tortilla". Although he explained what it was to us, in my mind I'm still thinking of a Mexican style tortilla. Not even close! What we received was a piping hot omelette-ish dish. It was chopped potatoes cooked to a crisp on the outside and egg and chorizo on the inside. Reminded me of an egg skillet ! Because it was so big, we shared it between two of us. Biting into it, it was super crispy on the outside and the flavor of potatoes and eggs was perfect with the chorizo which was not overwhelming. It was so simple, but oh, so delicious!! We paired the tortilla with a bottle of local Malbec and it was heavenly! To be fair, every bottle of Malbec we've had in Argentina has been exquisite! This place is very easy to find, just off a main road and well worth a visit. It was a nicer restaurant with table cloths and nice place settings and thus, was priced accordingly.

Our preferences for seafood or veggies allowed our server to make recommendations that were amazing. The complimentary sourdough bread was devoured- it had been a long 24 hrs without much food - another story! The crab empanada was large enough to share and was AMAZINGLY yummy. No wonder it is one of the most ordered dishes. Hubby loved his anchovy crostini, the BBQ shrimp - delicious, and we shared the argula salad- also a winner. If you don't see anyone, try ringing the doorbell to the right. We stopped by on a Friday night without a reservation and the place was fully booked, but the restaurant was able to rustle up a couple extra stools and seat us at the back bar. We were then invited to sit at the main bar when enough places opened up. The staff really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. When they noticed us puzzling over the Spanish menus, they quickly rounded up some English translations. The cocktail menu, though, is in Spanish only, and Google translate wasn't much help. Noticing our distress, the bartender, who spoke excellent English, explained that the menu titles were Argentine slang words and happily explained the sense of the groupings. He then helped us pick some great unique cocktails based on what we told him we liked. All of the food was great. My favorite was the roasted tomato side, which also included broccoli and some kind of crunch topping. I wish all veggies tasted this good! The lamb empanadas offered a gourmet twist on a classic Argentine staple. The melted Camembert with grapefruit and tomatoes, while not my favorite, was refreshingly different. A word of warning: the "platitos", meaning little plates, aren't like the little tapas back home. Be careful not to over-order. I'd start with one platito and one side and go from there. Sit at the bar if you want to meet some of the locals!
