Amazing authentic Italian restaurant located in Buenos Aires! I discovered this place after asking…read moreour hotel where a good place to go eat dinner was within walking distance. The hotel recommended Amici Miei. We walked to the other end of the little plaza and located this cute little Italian restaurant on the second floor with some balconies over looking the plaza with tables. The location is spectacular. Very quaint, old school feel inside an old building. The balconies are small but hold table for 4. On a nice day like when we went (it was about 85 degrees F) was nice to look outside onto the plaza and people watch. As we ordered food, the quality of the dishes were top notch. Everything was fresh and tasted superb. The flavours were rich, not salty, not over/under cooked. All the dished that came out were nice and hot and tasted amazing. The bread served was fresh, crunchy outside, soft inside with butter and some red wine. This place if you didn't know you were sitting in Buenos Aires, you'd think you were in Italy! Service was great, very prompt and nice. As with any Argentine or foreign restaurant, you have to ask for your bill if you want to leave, otherwise they just let you be. Overall, I do believe this place is truly 5 star rating, food, quality, taste, ambiance and service. You won't be disappointed if you go here and the price point is very good for the food, amount and quality.

I was in the mood for some Italian food and this place was very close to where I was staying. It's…read morealmost directly across from Plaza Dorego. I arrived right when they opened at 8 and was the only one there until a few people trickled in around 8:30 or so. By the time I left at 9:15, more people were arriving. I'd expect by 10, it would be packed. Before my meal arrived, they brought out a basket of garlic bread, focaccia and breadsticks with a garbanzo bean spread. I also ordered a cold Patagonia cerveza while I waited for my main course. I had green Papardelle pasta with mushrooms, bacon and cherry tomatoes in a light olive oil type sauce. It was very enjoyable as compared to a heavy cream sauce. The only thing missing was some parmesan cheese, which was provided before my meal arrived. Unlike most every other dinner I've had in BA, I left feeling satisfied, not like I was about to burst! The service was stellar and very friendly. Definitely check this place out if you happen to be in San Telmo.

On Wednesday evening, April 8th, my wife and I decided to stop by for dessert and some wine. It…read morewas 10:05 pm and the place was nearly empty. We have been there many times and especially like a certain desert and thought that would be a nice way to end our evening. Much to our astonishment ( and considerable chagrin! ) the officious people at the door wouldn't let us in unless we committed to ordering a full meal! It is beyond understanding why a restaurant with perhaps six people in it, on what was clearly a slow night, would turn away paying customers. Fortunately for us we managed to salvage our evening at Cafe Dorrego just a couple of blocks away - great desserts, pleasant and friendly staff, and a beautiful window seat for people watching. We spent close to 60 thousand pesos for wine and desert that night and it was worth it. C S W doesn't need the income or guests it appears. Anyway I'm done with this place!

We had the burrata (which was amazing), manicotti, and a pork dish. The burrata had confi tomatoes which made it just a little better than regular burrata, highly recommend. The pasta dish I had was quite good but it was also huge so I couldn't eat it all. For some reason our waitress told us the portions were small, they are not and we were stuffed! The pork was not my favorite but my husband enjoyed it. Everything was around $42 or so usd total.
