I don't know what the deal is with filipino food, but its honestly not as best as your own mom's cooking. I just think that different chains have their own unique way of cooking the food, but because we expect it to taste so much better than we're used to, we're severely disappointed. However, I have to say, for being a white washed flipino, even their bbq needed more flavoring and taste. It honestly was a big clump of pepper, that wasn't even moist. Their rice was hardening and their lechon kiwali, which I love and know I will die younger, was not appetizing. Even if there were heat lamps and steam from below, it still was cold. We've been ordering Filipino food from this branch for a long time. They have great selections and the food is really yummy! I personally love the Sisig and the Lechon Kawali. The staff are super friendly and attend to you immediately. I have very good experience at this branch and at Lakewood. The staff wear masks and gloves and the place has social distancing. Found this place when I was searching for pinoy food while I was on jury duty. I had the 2-item combo of kare-kare and BBQ pork skewers...delicious and big portions. There's very limited seating inside. I had a massive craving for fried banana eggroll (turon) after seeing the pic posted here on yelp. Unfortunately, that day's batch of turon wasn't impressive...not enough sticky sweet goodness on the outside and it had flavor of used cooking oil. Came back the next day and had laing (taro leaves cooked in coconut milk) and grilled pork belly....both yum! The turon was delightful this time around. The server asked the owner if they can make some more and she said no since breakfast is finished. So I got 4 orders of 2 item combo for each came out to about $12 each!! So I was paying for my orders when a Filipino guy comes up and orders the breakfast meal I wanted longanisa, tocino and bangus and 3 fried eggs and they quickly make it for him. I asked why I couldn't order that they said they are out of it. I felt so discriminated and disgusted by this place. I will never ever come back to this horrible place and be insulted so rudely because I am not Filipino and do not speak Tagalog. They don't serve garlic rice only steamed rice. The food is not that great not real authentic Filipino food. I should have went to Jollibee instead. Don't even try asking for a receipt. Judging by all the reviews here I can tell which ones were reviewed by Filipino people. If you're Filipino come here if you are not Filipino do not come here. Authentic Filipino food. Been coming here ever since I was younger. I love ordering their sisig; the salty oily taste reminds me of what my lola used to cook. Definitely try The barbecue pork and/or beef stick they are to die for; I always got super excited when my mother bought those meat sticks, as well as always wanting seconds and thirds. Their isn't that many Filipino restaurants/fast food places that I like besides Jolibee, so this place is gold. If you want authentic, tasty Filipino food, I highly suggest coming here. I stumbled on this place through yelp and I am glad I did. I come here for my Filipino fix when I need to grab lunch. It's conveniently located a block away from work. The food is authentic and tasty. It may not be exactly like mom's but it sure is good enough for me since I don't get Filipino food often. Just a week ago my coworker ordered some food for our holiday potluck. The pancit, lumpia and sisig were all very good. The sisig is one of the best I've tasted. Was coming into town for a hair appointment and was craving Filipino food, this was located right across from the salon I go to. And the food was AMAZINGGGG! The lechon was moist yet crispy and goes well with the Mang Tomas sauce. The portions are large so you can get even more than one meal out of a combo plate. When I was leaving, I asked for napkins, about 10 to 15 paper plates and forks. The lady had the SOUR LOOK AGAIN...Like she had to go to the bathroom...gave me about 4 napkins and said, "I'm sorry sir, but we don't give plates out for catered items." I was appalled... I love this place! They are always GUARANTEED to have BBQ, which is amazingly delicious. They open early for breakfast for yummy garlic rice with fried egg and choice of meat (longanesa, tosino). My only complaint is they only serve sinigang once a week :( read more

I went with my bf and we both were excited. We are Mexican but have been exposed to Filipino food from various Filipino friends of ours. The worker helping us was very friendly but wasn't telling us the right thing. When I asked for what things were he just said pork, pork, beef, ect. I sampled a pork dish and when someone else asked what it was he then said it was pork and pork liver right as I was chewing. Then I just selected the beef with peanut sauce since it was safe. Eating it was just wrong. It turned out to be beef intestines and a lot of fat. I only ate the rice which smelled like nasty meat. This place doesn't even deserve one star. When I was picking at my food an old man walked in with a big pig in a carton. The whole pig was exposed and he left it in the seat behind my bf. Then one of the workers walked up to it and started sawing its head off right behind him in full and clear view of me. This place is super small so it was just gross. This did not help my feelings for this place at all. Not to mention that when we left there was only a piece of thin white paper covering like half the pig (still on the table might I add). It's not like I'm bashing in Filipino food, but I don't like eating menudo or lengua or tripa from my culture so it would be nice to know what I was eating. Came from my kids swimming class by Los Al and decided to drop by this place and have lunch. My daughter got excited since it was her first time to come to this place. It was my 2nd time since a friend of ours recommended this place and said food was good. We ordered 1 combo, got a bunch of extra stuff like dried mangoes and chicharon and to-go ulam. While we were in the middle of eating our lunch and I was feeding the kids, the lady that served us when I ordered was done serving other customers. She started talking about how some orders 1 combo only and uses a lot of utensils like spoons and forks. She claims that each utensil cost like 10cents. And also voiced out loud saying she hopes they would clean up their table when they're done. As I was feeding my kids, I was thinking that she seems to be talking about us since my daughter was eating by herself and of course, being a 6year old, she would have crumbs falling over the table. And since I was feeding them, I took 3spoons and 2 forks! It won't be a coincidence for me and for her talking crap like that. I couldn't swallow the food I was trying to finish up. I stood up and told my kids to clean up their mess and went to the counter and gave them $20 to pay the utensils we used up. They claimed they were talking about those customers eating by the tables outside and that they had customers that morning that got a lot of utensils with only 1 combo ordered. So here's the deal! As the owner or being employees in a place like this, are you suppose to be talking about issues like this in front of customers eating or buying something in your store? How much does a plastic spoon, fork or knife cost? Napkins, how much does a pack cost? I always buy boxes of it in Costco since we always hosts parties at home, it doesn't cost that much. I could even donate boxes to them..! I left my $20 to them and this guy ran after me to our car to give it back. Haha! So drama. $20 is just a very little amount compared to how much me and my husband earns per hour.
