Got the lumpia shanghai, so good and freshly made! Def love Manila grille!

Manila Grill never misses. I always get the lumpia Shanghai and it's seriously so good every time -- crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Definitely one of my favorite comfort food spots whenever I'm craving Filipino food. Friendly service too!

Anytime we have a family dinner or I need to bring a delicious side dish to a gathering, I'm always headed to Manila Grille to order a pan filled with phenomenal lumpia. It's my family's go to place for Filipino food and all things deliciousness. Their lumpia is so fresh, crunchy, and tasty and their sweet and sour dipping sauce just makes it even more amazing. Their crew is so friendly and fast and always recognize me when I come in. I love that!!! You can eat in their quaint little dining room or take it to go!! Either way, you'll be back for more!! Thanks Manila Grille.

This is the best Filipino food I've ever had. I try to go when I am in the area. The staff is friendly Highly recommend.

Holy cow! Central OC - the heart of Orange County - offers some exciting places to eat. Manila Grille, flaws notwithstanding, offers excitement too. Located in a no man's land behind Knott's Berry Farm, MG sits removed from great food centers of the area. The cholesterol clogged artery of Korean spots along Beach Blvd, north of the 91, are a way's away; as are the good, bad, and ugly of Vietnamese venues in Little Saigon. Manila Grille stands as a lone islet on Knott Ave. The tables are stuffed with Filipinos (a good sign). Blacks and Mexicans occasionally place takeout orders (another good sign). From the steam table I selected a two item combo, which comes with rice. Someone overcooked the rice. Mushy and nasty. Alack, the problems continued beyond the rice. The entre Items were barely warm. I got a sisig and chicken curry on my combo. In both I detected the horrifying sight of bagged frozen vegetables. You find few things more unpleasant than bagged frozen vegetable. They prepare the sisig with pork belly and they add too much vinegar. No matter how hard you concentrate on it, you won't be able to detect much pork flavor. They cooked perfectly the chicken in the curry, but didn't bother adding much flavor to the curry. Two chode like longaniza are priced at $5, and they're the best thing I ate at Manila Grille. I don't think they make them in house, but I'm willing to keep an open mind. In any event, I liked them - their sweet and salty porkiness - large chunks of well cooked fat and skin in the mix are nice to chew on. The casing gives a satisfying snap. I didn't get any lumpia, nor did I get the pork adobo. Those two might be the best things they sell. Maybe I could have ordered better. But they certainly could have made better rice, better sisig, and better curry. At the very least, hot sisig and hot curry.

Only a few small pcs ....yikes

Ask the Community - Manila Grille

HELLO. I placed an order for pickup yesterday for today (Tuesday) and I'm seeing the restaurant is closed???? What is going on?

Manila Grille is always closed on Tuesdays! Check your pickup date on your receipt...

    Is this a new location?

HI Bee, No this is not a new location. Manila Grille has been in this same location, here in Buena Park, CA for almost 20 years.

Do you still have tupig on the menu?

Hi No we do not, we had a third party manufacturer and they closed in 2020 and we were never able to find a replacement.

    Is this a buffet place?

    No it is not .

    Offer curbside pickup?

Yes. They have the business number on a big sign up front to call and order curbside

Average space in the sense it's rectangular & like any mom/pop hole in the wall. You step in, tables to your right going all the way back, & left front side has cash register, sweets display, & water dispenser while the rest of the left was the kitchen. Menu was straightforward but could benefit from having a description in case you're not familiar (like my BF). * Service: the reason I'm docking by 1 star. The lady was nice, but not very attentive, & it wasn't like it was busy. We needed to ask or follow up on 2-3 things. My BF was eyeing some dessert when we were first ordering but she didn't try to sell it to us ‍ * Food: surprisingly good as it was both our first time there. He got the adobo bowl & the chicken was tender/juicy & pretty much fell off the bone. I got the tocino plate & the meat was flavorful with just the right amount of garlic in the rice. We also got one chicken skewer & one pork skewer, which was a bit smaller than I'm used to but the smoky flavor & tenderness was spot on. My only issue was the portion compared to the price. * Final Thoughts: mom/pop Filipino food that is great on flavor but leaves something to be desired with customer service. Would recommend & will return again for the food. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10
