    Mother's Day Brunch Menu
    Chris H.

We had a great Mother's Day Brunch at Figulina last Sunday. The food, drinks and service were great. I got the Scotch Egg which I haven't had in years. It was fried perfectly and it was atop a small pickled salad. It was delicious. We split a bunch of appetizers such as the Avocado Smash and two orders of the scones. All were really good. My son and I got BLT's. The bacon was crisp and the sandwich bread was awesome. My wife got the Paccieri as did her sister. Both said the pasta was homemade and fresh. I can't remember the pasta dishes my mother in law and brother in law ordered but both said their food was spot on. The ambiance was really nice too and they have outdoor seating.

The food was exceptional, the service was good, although sluggish, and the ambiance was exceptional. We will surely be back.

Fig is a favorite we particularly like to come on Sunday for brunch when sometimes they have live music on the patio a eclectic playlist that's fun and servers with great skills They serve a sprouted bread that's wonderful as is or toasted, which is the only thing they actually don't make on site Our table is full with plates and sides and plenty to take home afterwards so a real epicurean approach to Sunday brunch

A very well balanced Italian restaurant with some eclectic flavors and great food. They offer plenty of seating both indoors and out. The dishes ordered were a sweet potato with popcorn and a honey glaze. A rigatoni with bread crumbs and mushroom. A pear dish with a sweet glaze. The flavor choices were truly amazing and the dishes offered would ignite the palate with sweet and savory flavors. Loved this restaurant!

My husband, FIL and I came here on a Tuesday night for dinner. We were able to make a reservation a few hours beforehand which was really nice. We were seated immediately and our waiter was very nice. He made sure to keep refilling our water whenever we were running low which was great. My husband ordered the cappellacci, I ordered the squid ink Tajarin, and my FIL ordered the spaghetti. My husband and I absolutely enjoyed the cappellacci the most. I loved the texture of the pasta and the sauce was delicious. It was definitely our favorite. I liked my squid ink tajarin but wished there was more sauce to it. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and definitely a great place to come for a date night. I also liked that the tables were spaced apart so we weren't sitting close to the people next to us. I'll definitely keep this place in mind for a nice dinner!

Figulina is wonderful!  This is quite an Italian restaurant with a twist and a cool vibe. I came with my boss and other coworkers for our holiday dinner, and it was fantastic. The menu offers a variety of options of pasta dishes with a twist. I went for the Dopio Ravioli (collard green pesto, celeriac béchamel, ham broth and pecorino sardo). To drink l, I had a cocktail with mezcal. My team members also had the ravioli and other plates I can't remember. Everything was delicious!  The service was superb with professional and helpful attitudes. Common spaces were clean and comfortable and the restaurant was located in a central area easy to access and with a few street spaces and couple of paid parking lots nearby. Overall, it's a fantastic restaurant for a special occasion or if you simply like pasta with a delicious fusion. 100% recommended.

UPDATE: I've visited Figulina a couple of times since the initial visit I reviewed and each time, I still have enjoyed my meals. Last year included a very good Mafaldine Carbonara with country ham (those that know me know I love me some real true carbonara). This most recent time, I went with friends and we enjoyed a lot of selections for our meal. We started off with marinated olives and focaccia bread that we got extra virgin olive oil to enjoy with it. Both were nice starters, fresh and excellent. Sharing the tuna carpaccio next, we were pleasantly surprised by the taste on this one as each component gave a light and refreshing finish. For my main course I went with the Chicken Milanese served with a complementing vin jaune sauce. Combined with the Parisian gnocchi, lion's mane, and baby frisée, it made for a delicious meal. Of note, the chicken stayed very crispy while not being over done. I'd definitely get this one again, although I would like to try the Cacio e Pepe Tonnarelli pasta selection as well on another visit. There was a bit of activity in the pasta making area but not a lot, I had hoped my friends could see a lot more in action. Our server was attentive and informative but one observation is that our main meal choices did take a bit longer than anticipated (but definitely worth the wait). I continue to think that Figulina deserves all five stars and hope that future visits yield the same!

Mmm pasta. What else do you really need to know?? Actually- correction to my earlier statement- mmm homemade rotating seasonal menu of pasta that also include some very tasty and refreshing drinks (alcohol and N.A.) ...need I say more?? Everything we ordered was phenomenal but the star of the show was a seasonal strawberry jam pasta. The perfect sweet/savory combo. My one complaint is that I wish the portions were slightly bigger- classic American, I know. Pro tip: make a reservation! The restaurant is small (but very cute) and I believe there is some outdoor seating but that is obviously weather dependent.

The new menu launch at figulina is amazing!! The restaurant truly feels complete now with addition from their new fryer and grill. The service was impeccable, everyone was so friendly and accommodating and made sure we had the best experience. Mocktails were delicious as well. The steak was perfectly cooked, the chicken was huge and flavorful. The squid ink pasta surprised me, it was so clean tasty but still delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was the perfect ending. It was a romantic vibe in their at night as they changed up the lighting and added more art. Perfect for a date night or dinner with friends.

This place was on our list for a few months as I really wanted to eat a bangin' pasta, finally since we were close by we decided to go. For a Tuesday night it was full and bustling. The decor was simple, elegant loved the whole vibe and feel of the place. We were in a rush to get home and hadn't made reservations but the team was so accommodating and nice! Service was quick, friendly and lovely ! We just got the two pastas - Triangoli and Busiate. Triangoli was amazing! Loved the flavors, protein was cooked to perfection. I was very disappointed with the Busiate as it sounded good on paper but didn't translate well! There were a few more options that sounded interesting that I should have tried instead!

Run don't walk. This place had the most perfect vibe for a quiet yet subtly upbeat dinner with my in-laws. To start with the food, which is why you're here, delicious does not do it enough justice. Among the three of us, we managed to go with three starters: grilled asparagus, market lettuce, House focaccia bread, and the most interesting Tuna dish I've ever had. I assume they adjust their menu frequently, so I hope when you're reading this I have not sold you on this Heaven when it has left us. But seriously I've had a lot of tuna dishes and in combination with being a huge Gin fan, this was ultimately one of the most memorable starters I've ever had. So yummy and the Negroni flavor really stands out. I know what you're probably thinking. Why would you have grilled asparagus as a starter? But listen with the mushrooms and the cream base it sat in, it was too flavorful to be your classic 'side dish'. It needed It's own moment. My husband finished his Paccheri faster than I could snap a picture, but he practically licked the plate. My man dish was the Mafaldine with lump crab - and seriously to die for. The pasta was cooked al dente and the flavor of the crab was complemented well with the crunchy saltine drizzled on top. We also had the seared scallops and I would say this is a lighter dish. So if you're super hungry treat that as an adjunct. Really liked the blushing cucumber cocktail! Our waitress was very familiar with and was so nice in showing us around the menu. Figulīna has mastered the chill yet vibrant energy a restaurant aims for. Pay for parking was available. Right next to the restaurant and Street parking is also an option. One of the best restaurants I would recommend visiting in Raleigh.

Absolutely incredible. My husband and I agreed that this was one of the top 3 Italian spots we've ever been to, and we LOVE high quality Italian food. Pasta is made in house and you can tell. Only slight downside is that it's tapas style so the plates are smaller than most Italian places but that was fine with us. We're not from Raleigh but if we ever come back, we'd 100% plan to come here again.

The pasta was fantastic. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The only downside of the night was that the food took forever to come out. So just be ready for that. Very cool atmosphere as well.

The Food The menu leans comfort food with a modern edge, and it's done really well across the board. We started with a Caesar salad with dill pickle dressing, which sounds like it shouldn't work but absolutely does. Bright, fresh, and just different enough to be interesting without trying too hard. The beet salad was also excellent, clean flavors and well balanced. Then came the pimento cheese with fried crackers. This might have been the sleeper hit. The crackers are dangerously good. Simple idea, executed perfectly, and hard to stop eating. For mains, the fried chicken was solid but didn't stand out the same way the starters did. The short rib pot pie, on the other hand, was exactly what you want from a dish like that. Rich, flaky, and deeply comforting. We opted for a reservation at the bar, and we enjoyed excellent service from Brittany and Kylie. Our starter of roasted beets had an incredible blend of buttermilk blue cheese with white balsamic thyme, pickled pumpkin, and Marcona almonds. So yummy. Then my husband and I shared the Ricotta Gnocchi that we agree is the BEST gnocchi we have ever had the privilege of eating. So light in spite of a duck bolognese being the sauce. Fried rosemary sparked my home chef mind for future meals! We also shared the Brussels sprout upon Brittany's recommendation. One of the most unique preparations on Brussels sprouts ever with oyster mushrooms and a sherry cream sauce. We typically pass on dessert, but the description of their Pear Tart Tatin coupled with Kylie's verbal description hooked us and we were thrilled to enjoy every bite of the hazelnut praline ice cream that is part of this beautiful dessert.

Certainly a far departure from the typical thin, overly salty chip found at most restaurants and grocery stores. Excellent guac with a little pico and lime wedge on the side. I ordered the Baja bowl with shredded adobo chicken. The bowl had green rice, black beans, a whole lot of kale, tomatillo sauce, pickled red onions, crema, and cilantro. It needed a little more, so I added in some of the guac, a few chips I crumbled in my hands for some crunch, and some fresh lime juice. There are two small unisex bathrooms, both of which have to be locked. There can't be more than one person in there at the same time, so plan accordingly. The patio blurs the boundary between inside and out, inviting breezes, laughter, and the occasional curious passerby to join the scene. Inside, it's a playful clash of textures and tones--lush greenery tumbling from shelves, vibrant colors dancing against natural wood, and polished metals winking from every corner. It's the kind of place where a cocktail feels brighter, conversations linger longer, and even the sunlight seems to stay for just one more round. From the moment you step in, the welcome feels less like service and more like being let in on a good secret. The staff greet you with easy smiles and a kind of genuine curiosity--like they're actually glad you chose this spot, today. There's no script, no stiffness--just a natural warmth that settles in as quickly as the sunlight. Behind the bar, the bartenders move with quiet confidence and a touch of showmanship. They know their craft, but they don't flaunt it--they share it. Ask for a classic, and it arrives perfectly balanced; ask for something new, and they'll read your mood like a seasoned mind-reader. The deviled eggs arrive perfectly plump, sunshine-yellow centers whipped into a silky, indulgent cloud and topped generously with the red peppers that bring just the right whisper of fresh garden drama, they're rich without being heavy, playful without trying too hard--the kind of bite that makes you pause mid-conversation, raise an eyebrow, and make you want to slowly work through the next one. They only come in odd numbers, sharing isn't caring on these. The BBQ hot honey pork ribs show up like they own the place--sticky, glistening, and just a little bit dangerous. The meat barely clings to the bone, surrendering at the slightest nudge, impossibly tender yet somehow still juicy, with those caramelized, crispy edges that feel like the best kind of rebellion. Sweet heat from the honey lingers just long enough to keep you coming back, fingers unapologetically messy and completely worth it. And then there's the mac & cheese--rich, velvety, and indulgent in a way that feels almost mischievous. Each spoonful stretches and melts like it's putting on a show, wrapping you in buttery comfort while quietly stealing the spotlight. Together, it's a plate that doesn't ask for your attention--it demands it, and you'll be more than happy to oblige. Cheers!
