Been working nearby for a few years and I only just last week made it in. I'd slap myself because I had a good experience. Been here twice. The first time was take out. Enjoyed it enough, that the second time (see pics) I ate there. I walked over from work but parking in the area is tight. It's on the corner where Noshinoya is so if you know the lot, then you know it'll be challenging. I don't know what the street restrictions are or if you can park in other plazas and just walk over - something you'll have to figure out for you. Walked in (2nd time) and was immediately seated. Lots of students seemed to waltz in while we were there (coworkers). Service was ok. Order taken. Order delivered. Follow up with refills and closed with the bill. Looked like it was just one person for the FOH. Didn't need to ask for much except to go boxes. One of my coworkers ordered too much food. Good was good. A few of the skewers were slightly overcooked. But not to the point that I felt like sending it back. You can tell from the pics. The ribs. The chicken wings. The rest were good and I'd order them again. The ribs and wings only if they're not dry and well well done. Check out the prices - reasonable too. Upbeat music playing in the place. Not so loud we all couldn't hear one another. Didn't look around to see if a large party can be accommodated so call ahead. This is easily our most favorite hot pot restaurant! We drive here almost every week coming from Woodland Hills and it's worth every minute in traffic. The sauces are also pretty limited here and they serve it to you instead of it being self served. However, the alcohol is pretty cheap here. Boiling Point is better, but this is pretty solid, especially for the area around USC! The portion is relatively large and there's a decent amount of broth. I got the Golden Broth Beef Hot Pot and if you can tolerate a bit of spice, the flavoring is well-balanced between spicy and salty without being overpowering in one way or another. Service can be REALLY slow and sometimes you have to chase down servers. Lured in by the hot pot sign, we drove into the small shopping center. If it weren't for the pictures outside of the entrance, we would not have guessed Fig's Corner served hot pot. From the outside, it gives off the vibe of an arcade, the name "Fig's Corner Bar & Grill" makes it seem more like a lounge or bar. Once inside it sticks with the lounge vibe with very comfy seating. The walls are adorned with an eclectic mix of figures and portraits. We were at a weird time between lunch and an early dinner but there were at least 2 or 3 other groups dining. We were immediately greeted and had plenty of options for seating. Menu is concise and easy to order from, drinks on one side while food and apps are on the flip side. The brown sugar boba was delicious, though at 50% sweetness level it was still very sweet. I would try 25% next time. It was much cheaper than I expected as it was $4. We also had a pitcher of ice water which stayed chilled and refreshing. Glad we did not have to keep asking for refills. I had the pepper pork appetizer which was like popcorn chicken but pork and had a side of Malay chili flakes. We ordered the Beef Tomato Hot Pot and Golden Soup Hot Pot. Tomato soup was very tasty! I can't pinpoint the flavor of the Golden Soup but it was delicious. I liked the variety of toppings in the hotpot and I wanted to try the spicy Malay hotpot but opted for the simpler flavor to start out with. The hot pot comes out in personal sets with a small burner rather than the stove at each table. The dipping sauces were a real highlight honestly but made in house so won't be able to have it at home unless I figure out the recipe. Pretty dope new Chinese spot next to USC. The personal hot pots are very comparable to Boiling Point, definitely better in some aspects. The ingredients taste a lot more fresh, and the soup is a lot less oily. The amount of meat they give is a little less, but they try to make up for it by giving more of everything else. The SICHUAN MALA HOTPOT has a really clean but flavorful Sichuan flavor. It's definitely on the spicier side, but super bomb. Also tried the SIGNATURE BEEF HOTPOT in non spicy, and the soup is way better than Boiling Point's (it's got a more authentic, cleaner flavor). read more

I'm super excited a hotpot place opened right by USC! My friends and I came on a Thursday night when it wasn't too packed, so we didn't have to wait to be seated. I really liked the decorations and ambiance of this place! It definitely feels modern and I like their unique style. To order, they give you a piece of paper to fill in. I got the signature beef and my friend got their kimchi pork. With the additional rice and noodles they give, it's actually a pretty big portion. I thought their soup was really flavorful and wasn't overpowering in any way. I also really enjoyed the balance of meat and vegetables. There were bits of "seafood" like fish balls and imitation crab, so it was mix with the beef. All of their hotspots are about $16.99, which isn't bad all. I'll be coming back, especially when I'm craving something warm on a cold or rainy day! There's a parking lot available but sometimes it's full or the spaces are pretty tight. I can eat Hot Pot all year round! Fig's Corner is the newest place to go to get your hot pot fix. What I love about this place is the interior, the music, their appetizers, and of course their hot pot! Both broths we got were really flavorful and I love the various appetizers they had. It's definitely worth trying at least 3-4 different dishes since we loved them all. The fried intestines and the pork hock were the best! Fig's Corner is a fantastic addition to the USC area. I never like making the drive out to Boiling Point in 626, but Fig's Corner is a very substitutable alternative. Their hotpot and skewers hit the spot, especially during LA's crazy rainy weather this year. The restaurant is a great place to go with friends, even if you have a bigger group. It feels very open and well lit, so it's a fun place to hang out over good food. They offer a variety of broths with different types of toppings. I got the Sichuan Mala Hotpot and loved the ingredients it came with! They were also very generous with the quantity; I think I got 3 quail eggs, but the meat was kind of on the smaller side. The broth is super flavorful and not too spicy at all. My friends got the Signature Beef Hotpot, Pickle Cabbage Lamb Hotpot, and Kimchi Pork Belly Hotpot. They were all delicious and unique, so I think it'd be fun if you went with a group and got to try their different offerings. The prices are a little pricier, but the serving portions are large enough to make up for it--you could easily split a hotpot with a friend. However, the skewers are overpriced for sure in my opinion. Service-wise, the employees are all attentive and quick. They speak both English and Chinese. It's also located in a parking lot (perfect to grab Pot of Cha after!), but the spots are kind of squished and get filled--it may be easier to find street parking nearby behind the lot. Went to Fig's Corner Last night and it was a great experience. Very good prices for good food! We ordered the Signature Beef Hotpot (Spicy) for about 17 dollars. It came with: Angus Beef, Beef meatball, Tempura, Firm tofu, Crab stick, Quail egg, Fried tofu, Spam, Tomato, Fish tofu, Shimeji Mushroom, Bean Curd, Corn, Zucchini, Fungus, Napa cabbage, Vermicelli, Scallion, Cilantro. We were able to remove anything we did not want and could add more for an additional price. While I prefer to cook my own hot pot/choose the exact mix/match I want, it was still great. The meat was great quality and I really liked the broth it came in!! We also ordered the cheesy corn. I think they use packaged grated cheese because we did not get the cheese pull that is normally expected. This order fed 2 people! The service was fast and it was not too busy inside. Note: You have to go up to the front to pay for your meal-- the check isn't brought out to the table. They really stack the toppings inside the hot pot and you can ask for more broth if you run out. The pot comes with complimentary vermicelli noodles and rice and sauce to dip your toppings. Get the Golden Beef Broth for a more creamy broth. The place didn't have any wait but it gets a little crowded on the weekends. The service wasn't the greatest because the workers didn't pay attention when I was trying to get help or request for something.
