Figaro's is a great place if you want to indulge in one of those sandwiches that's so sinful you chastise yourself for the next 24 hours for being such a glutton, which in the case of most of their sandwiches means having more than one bite. I do not eat here often - maybe just 4 or 5 times in my 7 years of working in the FiDi - but my ex-girlfriend used to work around the corner and would give me belly-bursting verbal recounts of her weekly lunch experience after coming back from Figaros. That being said, the food here is absolutely delicious. They do not go light on size and load up every sandwich I've tried with heaping portions of meat and fillings. You can expect high quality from pretty much everything, although my favorites I remember trying are the Al Capone (Steak 'n cheese with pepperoni, peppers, onion & sliced hot peppers) and Sonny Corleone (Grilled marinated chicken, roasted red peppers, pepperoni, chipotle mayonnaise and mozzarella cheese) - I'm a sucker for pepperoni added to any other meat. The worst thing about this place, as others mention, is the very slow moving line. Do not come here between 12-1:30 if you have business to attend to in the near future and expect a quick in-and-out lunch. While the line is slow, the service is very friendly. The woman who I believe owns the place is exceptionally happy and nice and has consistently been this way every time I've gone in - not something that's easy to do. read more

This place lives up to the hype. Long line, but definitely worth the wait, moves pretty quick.

We had ordered some sandwiches for some employees. We had asked for an assortment and were supplied with a great mix. They were super quick and the food as always was great. If you want a good sandwich or need something for a party or work function, this is the place to go. read more

Unbelievable food! You can't beat the fast paced friendliness of the staff and the amazing cuisine. Great for all food options around breakfast and lunch. They do caterings too! Try the tuna, the salad, or whitey bulgar sandwich. My favorite! read more

My favorite Boston sub shop! The line can get a little long but it moves pretty quickly and it is absolutely worth the wait. Ive tried quiet a few different things on the menu but the two timer is easily my go to choice - steak & cheese, onions, hots and chipotle mayo pressed together on a panini press...yum! They also have a white board of rotating specials, the porchetta (I probably spelt that wrong) is their take on the Cuban sandwich and it's amazing. I promise, whatever you decide on, you will not be disappointed. Also, if you pay cash you get a free brownie or blondie and they donate a portion of cash sales to St. Jude so it's a win, win situation. read more

They make a mean sandwich. Pay cash and get a free brownie (while they last)!

Best Iced Coffee in Boston! Even Starbucks doesn't use coffee ice cubes in their drinks! It was a much needed treat on this sweltering day.

Figaro's has the best Buffalo chicken wrap on the planet! The owner Rosie is awesome too- she doesn't skimp on the portions and treats everyone like family. My go-to spot on Thursdays. I highly recommend. read more

Figaro's - The best buffalo chicken wrap on the planet - the Whitey Bulger. - Delis Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Very good sandwiches, using fresh bread. Not for the calorie-conscious, as they are very generous with cheese and some of the sandwiches use olive oil as a dressing. However, you can always ask them to customize your sandwich. Very friendly staff. Very busy during lunch hours, so I strongly recommend coming either before noon or after 1pm. read more

Overpriced!! I paid $9 for a chicken pesto sandwich that was fine, but the pesto was more parsley than basil and it took forever for them to make it. I went in around 11 so it wasn't even the lunch rush and it took like 15 mins to even get to the counter. The focaccia was really good, but my sandwich was kind of burnt :( Overall if say it's fine but kind of expensive. read more

I've had lunch from here a handful of times now since I started working down the street. I've had the Mayflower wrap (delicious - they go heavy on the cranberry FYI), the Laguna wrap, and Tuscan Vegetable on ciabatta (kind of greasy with all the cheese but very tasty and it's nice that they have vegetarian options). All of them were great. I see a lot of salads going out their door, too, but have yet to try one. The place is always busy so I try to sneak in by 11:30 am to avoid the lunch rush. Everyone that works there is really nice - pretty sure they are all family. They prefer that you pay cash so they can donate a portion to charity, but they do accept cards. read more

The Sonny is to DIE for! Chicken, pepperoni, cheese, spicy rice, chipotle mayo, ugh! Love that wrap so much. Wish I could have one every day. Technically could since I work down the street from this place haha. Shop gets insanely packed around 12-12:30 but if you go around 11:30 you're good. The owner is really nice and he always has free samples of blondies and brownies at the register. He gave me a free blondie once when I waited way too long for a sandwich. This isn't really a downside but for $10 here you just get a wrap which isn't always super huge v.s a fully packed sub, chips and drink from Al's (around the corner) for $8.50. You get more for your buck at Al's but...this is definitely a special place and worth it. read more

Coming from Chicagoland area we got 2 awesome meatball sandwiches, Reg and Uncle Paulie both were unbelievable. Service was great.

This place is so good. I work in the area and it's a nice change from all the local chains that you quickly get sick of day after day. I have yet to try any of their everyday items because the specials always pull me in, and they change daily. I've tried 4 or 5 of them and I like them all. Favorites probably the whitey and the barbecue chicken with spicy rice, yum!! It's usually busy in here but they move quick and while it's a small shop I have never had an issue with seating, I think most people grab and go. Music is bumping in there everyday, people are nice, food is good, what else do you need? read more

Best sandwich shop in town! Every time I come here I order a different sandwich. Every time it knocks my socks off. Great job Rosie and team! read more

The variety of meats and toppings can be outdone in other places, but the PEOPLE are great. They speak Italian to the teens who come in from roaming Downtown Crossing and Chinatown, and, as a member of a new start-up venture in the neighborhood, they gave us all kinds of "welcome to the neighborhood" gifts and goodies. NO guarantees they'll do that for you, but everyone should have a place where the staff knows what to make you when you say, "My regular, please". read more

My new favorite breakfast & coffee shop! I tried Figaros only a few days ago when my company moved our office to a location around the corner from Figaro's. I normally frequent Dunkin' because it's cheap, reliable, and normally conveniently-located on every street block. I went in to get coffee and began to swoon when I saw "The Ultimate," a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, bacon/sausage, and A FREAKIN' HASHBROWN for $4 (if you want it on a bagel, $3 for English Muffin). Needless to say, I ordered it. The Ultimate rocked my world. Filling but not overwhelming, with real eggs (cooked how you like them), crispy bacon, and a flavorful hashbrown on an Everything bagel. Then, I got an iced coffee. These guys care about your iced coffee experience. They care enough to make coffee ice cubes, so your drink doesn't get watered down as the ice melts. Although I'm not a coffee snob, I tip my hat to them for making the extra effort to keep your coffee cold and, well, coffee, not watered-down coffee-substitute. Now, I need to try their lunch. I'm sure I won't be disappointed. read more

This place is the bees knees. Delicious sandwiches, friendly staff, I go here as often as I can.

It's so good that I can go to Figaro's all week. All the sandwiches are great especially the daily special menu (Whitey wrap is the best).

I am from Chicago and I know good food.... this place is amazing. If you're in town, try this place out and get the Sonny Corleone.

The Best Buffalo Chicken Wrap around. They only sell it on Thursdays and the line gets insanely long but it's worth the wait. Also once you get in the door there are usually samples of their brownies on the counter. One of the best lunch places around. read more

Beyond good subs. If you pay with cash you get either a free desert or bag of chips. I always get the mozzarella, basil and prosciutto sub...fantastic. Get there early as there will most certainly be a line. Some seating but expect to be near the line of people if you go at lunch time. read more

Best buff chic I have found in the city. Also chicken pesto is high on the list

First time there had no idea what to get. The lady at the counter said the Sonny was the most popular. It did not disappoint, it was delicious and the portion size was massive. Food coma commencing in 3, 2, 1 read more

When i go to buy a sandwich while at work I want something that there is no way it will resemble the normal cold cut sandwich I normally bring. This pleace delievers. Nothing standard about their creations, good quality ingriedents as well. This place also buys greats bread for their sandwiches but is known for not ordering enough bread and lose a lot of customers because of it so don't show up late or they will have run out. read more

In a neighborhood with a lot of lunch options, this is as good as any for sandwiches. Their daily specials always add some variety to the menu and the occasional customer-submitted-suggestion sandwich contest is worth testing out for some (mostly) fun new menu items. It isn't cheap and there is usually a long wait if you get there much later than noon on the dot, but the line out the door tells you it's worth your time. read more

I love this place for a great Italian sub. It's a little holes in the wall tucked away near South Station, and is one of the best places in Boston! My favorite is the Al Capone. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to any request. read more

Decent location for the Downtown / Leather District crowd. The sandwiches are good, and decently sized. I'm told they have a sandwich called the Whitey Bulger (classy) on Thursdays that is really good. The problem unfortunately is they have difficulty having enough food in stock. I went in the last two days (before 2pm) and they were out of bread. Two consecutive days. Seeing my surprise when informed of this, the woman behind the counter quipped that I should have "come in earlier". I recommend they order more bread. I can't remember having that problem at Al's South Street. The food is usually impressive, presuming they have it. Not particularly willing to make the walk - particularly as the weather starts getting colder - in the hopes I'll be able to order a sandwich, I can't see a scenario where I'd be returning. [Updated from 2-Starts to 4-Stars, 9/3/15] So I was let in on the secret - place your order in advance, over the phone. The "Whitey Bulger" - though not life-changing as some others might attest - is a very good rollup sandwich. From the sound of it, it is a special that's available ONLY on Thursdays, and as stated above, they'll run out of stuff if you don't plan ahead. It is worth trying. In addition to a solid sandwich, my increasing stars is also largely because of Rosie, who is incredibly friendly, and will take the extra steps to make you feel welcomed and happy with your order. A lot can be forgiven when you're interacting with genuinely pleasant staff, or in Rosie's case, owner. They're still relatively new, and despite a couple workable hiccups, are doing a lot of things really well. Try it out. read more

Figaro's - Delis Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

I love this place. The staff is friendly and knows what they're doing! I recommend the specials, especially on Tuesday, Taco Burrito!

Unfortunately this was not the Figaro's I was expecting after all the television hype! The Specialty Sandwich of the Day, a $9.00 Apple Rosemary Chicken Salad on Ciabatta was so bland, lacking any hint of celery and seasonings as advertised. Second complaint is about the lack of Food Prep Hygiene I saw throughout the establishment. As I was waiting for my order a huge tray of fresh baked brownies was being cut up and put on display by, I believe John, who was not wearing gloves, while he was ringing up orders, handling money and credit cards, wiping sweat from his brow and scratching his face. (luckily I did not order any brownies). Bon Appetit to your next bout of salmonella poisoning!! read more

If you're like me and you love a sandwich that really highlights the meat, you'll love this place. The line is long during lunch but the wait is more than bearable. All their sandwiches are a great portion and you even get free chips or a drink when playing with cash. With free samples of their brownies and lovely music, this is a perfect lunch spot if you're eating in our taking out. Also, if you're wondering, just by sitting there and listening to orders being called out, I'd say their most popular sub is probably the rickshaw. read more

I work in the financial district and love buffalo chicken. One day, I searched yelp for "Buffalo Chicken" and yelp lead me to Figaro's on a Thursday for the Whitey. Holy Cow! One of the best sandwiches/lunch I have ever had. While I love bacon, I try to save a bit on the calories and ask for them to make one custom for me to skip the bacon. The entire staff is very friendly and they all seem very passionate about the food that they make. read more

Figaro's is bar none the best deli in all of Boston. The freshness and quality of the ingredients are perfect, the staff is wonderful and welcoming and their specials are out of this world! I am lucky enough to live close by and am in Figaro's three times a week minimum. I do go out an try other places, but Figaro's always draws me back because it's simply the best. Now, to address some of the critiques in some of the other reviews - Cost: Yes, you can find some cheaper sandwiches around town, and you will get exactly what you pay for. If you are a foodie, you will immediately notice the difference in the quality of ingredients at Figaro's vs. an average deli around town. The quality makes it well worth the extra dollar or so. Bread: You can't get much fresher! I have been there for breakfast on many mornings and seen the fresh baked bread delivered from the bakery and also watched them make their own foccacia bread day after day. Staff: They will absolutely make you feel special and at home, but use a little common sense in terms of your expectations when you walk in. If you come in for a delicious breakfast (when they are far less crowded) you are much more likely to have a nice chat with them. If you come at 12:30 in the heart of the lunch rush, do you really expect them to kick back and shoot the breeze? They are always nice, but have to be pretty quick when there is a long line all the way out the door. The bit about girls being overlooked for boys is ridiculous and sounds like that reviewer's own issue. I'm a girl and always feel beyond welcome every time I go. To sum up, if you want to delicious food for breakfast or lunch that is fresh, imaginative and of the highest possible quality in a warm, familial atmosphere, look no farther than Figaro's! read more

Place was small but decent.. Bought a goodfella sub there (italian) tasted like it was dipped in vinegar .. Also at a price of $8.25 which for some reason came out to be$9.60 at the register it was not worth it..
