Came here from Pittsburgh after my husband and I saw the lights at Oglebay. I had high expectations as I am Italian and love small family owned restaurants and this place did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in the hostess greeted us very friendly and accommodating. Our server was fantastic. Food came out in a timely manner. I was a little bit leery of ordering the filet as I have dined in many fine dining steakhouses back in the Burgh but this lived up to it! Steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly medium rare! If I ever find myself back in town I'll be sure to stop again. read more

Very quant place. Definitely Italian. We had two different meals. Mine was angel hair pasta with 4 large shrimp and 5 mussels. Very tasty and plenty. That with a salad and bread made for a happy girl. My husband tried the veal pasta and said it was tender and tasty. We'd come back. You could tell it is a family restaurant. read more

The hubby and I drove into town from Cleveland for a "holiday experience". it wasn't as exciting as we had thought it would be but we decided to grab dinner before we left town. Yelp led me to Figaretti's and it is the best thing I've ever done in West Virginia! A cheesy smile spread across my face as soon as I came in. The atmosphere was warm and familiar and reminded me of somewhere. The staff was pleasant and we were seated right away, even though the restaurant was packed. We sat near the bar and the patrons all seemed like they knew each other in a neighborly way. It wasn't quiet, but it was comfortable and made the place seem even more friendly. Then the food came. Oh wow. The bread and dipping oil was amazing. The calamari, which came out super fast, was perfect. A huge portion and well presented. Salad was a great plate too. Love that house dressing! I got chicken Parmesan and husband loved his shrimp with Asiago cheese and pasta. The red sauce wasn't my favorite (a little too smooth and oregano-y?) but it was still very good. My meal was plentiful and prepared perfectly. Our server, Nichole P, was amazing. She had a lot of tables but stopped to check on us every time she passed. She was friendly, efficient, and never let our drinks empty. Best server I've had anywhere in a long time. For all this, our bill was less than $60 and I think that's a great value at a high-class Family Italian place. On our road trip to PA for basketball, we decided to stop here for our team dinner. Not only was the food great, the service was amazing! We had waters, salad, and bread waiting at the tables for all 20 of us. The food was brought out quick, and we had multiple people checking in on us throughout the meal. Well for my birthday luncheon I chose this Italian Restaurant. I researched reviews on Yelp and this local favorite. They have been making sauce since 1948. I was very excited to try them out. Found the small location by using GERTRUDE our GPS. There is a second small parking lot across the side street. Located just off I-70, very easy access. They seated us immediately at front booth. I was dining with my hubby Tony who immediately ordered a Budweiser. Noel, my daughter went with Sweet Tea and her boyfriend, Adam went with water. It was tap water and tasted ugh!! I went with unsweet tea with lemon and lime, I could taste that ugh tap water. I ordered the 4 meatballs in marinara sauce with peppers and onions, Noel went with Chicken Parmesan with alfredo noodles, Tony ordered spaghetti with meatballs, and Adam went with Mushroom Bisque Soup. They brought bread with our drinks, pretty good not to die for but Good. Buttertoo cold and hard to spread. OMG! The sauce was so disappointing. The marinara smelled like Campbell's Tomato Soup with tomato paste NOT VERY GOOD!! I was very disappointing to me. The people were great and the food, well, it's sort of great and bad. You can't beat their veal or meatballs. however, I ordered the tortellini with Alfredo sauce and the sauce looked like Elmers glue only thicker. The past veal dishes on the other hand have always been great. The only thing I can suggest is that you know what you are getting and don't be afraid to send something back if it looks like it was last weeks Alfredo sauce. read more

Great amazing service! Food was classic. The crab ravioli was really tasty and the vodka sauce came highly recommended by the waitress who was a hoot. My partner had the pork chops which were some of the most delicious chops I've ever tasted. They were tender and juicy and cooked perfectly. The calamari appetizer was surprisingly crispy and piping hot. The decor was classic old school Italian like a movie set, dark and small, loud and chaos. It was great! read more

Figaretti's is just always good ! This is a small, cozy spot. The service is always good and the food is great. Prices are very reasonable and most of the staff has been there for quite a few years. My husband frequents Figaretti's whenever he is in town for business. Fortunately for me, I was able to come with him this time. First off, our waitress was amazing, accommodating, and her outgoing personality added to our dining experience. She recommended the tortellini with vodka sauce as well as the lemon cake, and both were delicious! My husband ordered the rigatoni with spicy meat sauce, and he said that was going to be his new go-to dish when he visits again. This is truly a family owned business because the senior owner goes around to each table to say hi and to make sure everything is going smoothly with your meal. His son also assist with running the restaurant and the grandson works in the kitchen. This place is definitely a must stop if you are in town or passing through! read more

We got a lunch take out order there a few days ago and the food was terrible. They got our order wrong, I ordered meat sauce on my angel hair pasta and when I got it, I said where's the beef? There was none, and in fact there was hardly any sauce on it. You'd be better off getting a jar of Ragu and putting it on your own spaghetti. You could save yourself some money and it would actually have some taste! It was a terrible, terrible, terrible dining experience! Do yourself a favor and don't go there and eat!!!!! read more

I had the veal piccotta and it was a tender asci thought it should be. I had to use a steak knife to cut it! My other problem was they charged me a fee for using my credit card. I understand the need for this, but I saw no signs, nor did anyone tell me about this policy. read more

Nicole the waitress was awesome and the food was excellent. We got the zucchini app and it was fantastic. My wife ordered the chicken parm and I decided on the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Both top notch and we had to take the rest with us as it was a good size portion. We didn't have a reservation but was still able to be seated in just over 20 minutes. All in all it was a great dining experience and would recommend to anyone looking for authentic Italian food with a family style feel. read more

I'm really torn here. On one hand, I guess I had super high expectations for an establishment right off of I-70. On the other, I've had their sauce multiple times because I buy jars of it, and it's delicious. That coupled with a rave review from an actual human, I suppose I'm justified in being mildly disappointed. - Almost no parking. Had to drive onto a side street to find parking, which is fine, but it's right on a busy road off of the highway. Could be pretty sketchy. - Interior could use an update. The booth we were seated in was leaning about 30 degrees to my left. I felt like I was eating on a sinking ship. - My gnocchi was amazing. It's clear that someone learned how to make them the real, true, old school way. My SO's pasta, however, was a little overdone and soft. We both liked the wedding soup. - Everyone was very nice, and considering they were packed by 6 on a Friday night, they ran it like a well oiled machine. - Almost no waiting area. If they put a couple chairs outside for people to wait, that would make everything MUCH better. It's extremely cramped in there. - And finally, to my dessert photo. Like, WTAF? I got a boatload of gnocchi, which I'll exist off of for the next two days, but I only got a spoonful of tiramisu? It looks like she picked it out of the tray with her hands (I'm sure she didn't, she was very nice), and all I got to take home with me was a baseball sized amount? TO SHARE??? Ok, Fig's. You make a good sauce, you make an excellent gnocchi, but it's not worth driving an hour and ten minutes to get to you when I can go to the strip to DiAnoia's and get the same or better quality in literally half the time. read more

Good food, but scarily fast. We had a reservation for Saturday at 5pm that we arrived at 4:55 for. We were immediately seated and greeted by our server. The restaurant was busy but not packed yet. We ordered drinks, food, and a dessert and had everything in under an hour. We literally got our entree 15 minutes after being seated. I mean, I love good service but one wonders how fast things should take. We didn't really get to dig into our entree salad before getting our meal. But once 6pm rolled around, we were finishing our drinks and were told that the next reservation was coming in in 3 minutes. We just left after that. Overall, okay food but felt rushed. read more

I randomly looked up restaurants in Wheeling to see or I could stop on my way home got a nine hour trip on the highway... this place came up with good reviews so we said we'd give it a try Wow!!!!!! Went there last night absolutely horrible, watery sauce, veal parm was fatty thick and hard to cut my husband had chicken piccata that was a deep fried piece of chicken (never saw it prepared like that) and fettuccini that was floating in tons of butter and I mean floating, just a horrible meal! I started with a drink the Godfather so smooth and perfect on a warm day. I had veal parm my wife veal piccata both were good. Figaretti's was a great find! The establishment is just a few miles down the road from the Highlands if you want to escape the tourist traps/ chain restaurants near all the shopping. My husband and i went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and unfortunately do not offer the lunch menu on the weekends. I did not want a dinner entree at 1pm so I asked if the lunch menu was available. The server gave me the lunch menu with absolutely no hesitation which I really appreciated! I ended up getting the lunch size grilled chicken salad and it was delicious! I got the lunch portion and it was still huge and I needed a togo box. The house dressing was so good!! I asked for a lid for my dressing so I could take it home with me, and the server even filled it up for me! The service was really great all around! My husband got the stuffed rigatoni and it was a big portion as well. It was basically ravioli in a different shape, but still good. We both got the Brie and mushroom soup. He loved it but I was a little disappointed. It tastes just like cream of mushroom soup. Wasn't really expecting that.... but that doesn't change my opinion of Figaretti's at all. Grew up in Wheeling and had "distant"memories of this place. Had an opportunity to visit Wheeling this week and of all Wheeling Institutions - this one was on my list to visit. Staff were friendly; restaurant clean and very straight forward. Menu choices distinctly IWheeling-Italian (that's not at all a bad thing, as a world travel local flavor is appreciated.) Let's start with the appetizer - Sausage stuffed peppers. Oh, my, God! Amazing! Flood of memories came back and flavors danced - clearly home made everything. Amazing flavor, not too spicy - great start! Next we had the Lasagna. This is a highly debated dish in any Italian family - ricotta, meat, what's the right balance? Given the amazing sausage - they lean her more to the sweet sausage tastes - and wow did it amaze again. Full bar rounds out the perfection. Attentive staff who are there when you need them and disappear to allow your conversations to continue. We were never left waiting or wanting. All around; this place is perfection in many ways.
