Ah Fig- in a town filled with so many culinary wonders, I was happily impressed. For starters, the servers were fun, engaging, and super friendly. The pork belly appetizer with parsnip puree and pomegranate gastrique was awesome. I mean tender as all hell get in my pork belly, with a slightly crispy outer skin. Everything worked with this dish. The duck entree was cooked to a perfect med-rare, with October beans in a Sherry jus. Oh, and corn fritters! Those were amazing. The banana cake with banana brulé, peanut butter, chocolate, and honey roasted peanuts was also fantastic . like a deconstructed smoothie or something. Rich and satisfying. Price point? perfect. Totally worth the value. I'd go back in a heart beat. Might go back tomorrow, just to try their poached pears dessert. Great experience! read more

We made sat minute reservations at Fig during Thanksgiving weekend. It was a chilly night and Fig has a lovely cozy romantic setting. It's a small restaurant, but we had a lovely time. Our server was friendly and attentive. We started out and shared an order of the pork belly which was delish. For dinner we both had the Lemon Lime Risotto with Rock Shrimp. It was seasoned perfectly and the citrus kick set off the dish. We were both pleasantly surprised at the amount of shrimp included in the dish. We cleaned out plates. For dessert, we had the pots de creme. Very rich and chocolatey, but great to share to cap off a great meal. read more

Had a great dinner here Saturday night. Service was impeccable. The highlight was a starter that wasn't on the menu - Torchon of foie gras with a Riesling gelee. Amazing combination on toast points. Put this one on the menu! read more

Fig - Luxurious bite - Torchon of foie gras on Riesling gelee - French Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

This place is awesome! Superb service and food. Quaint seating out in the courtyard. My wife had the prime rib (which she generously shared with me). The demi glaze was perfect. I had the pork loin and savored each bite. Prices were fair for the quality. read more

I liked this place. Really nice, intimate ambiance. It's a pretty small place, so I would get reservations. Our server was very friendly, and even started us out with complimentary champagne. The pork belly appetizer and the winter greens salad were both very good. The pork was well cooked (not overdone) and the salad was simple, but very good. For the entrees, we had duck breast with an apple and brussels sprouts hash and the pork tenderloin with sweet potato and spiced prunes. Both meats were cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the accompanying sides were really interesting, adding a lot to the dishes. The pork tenderloin dish was both familiar and comforting but also unique and interesting. For dessert, we had cookies and milk, which are pretty unique on a dessert menu, and were really good! I wasn't greatly impressed with the wine list, but we found something that went pretty well with the meal. Overall, a good meal...we left satisfied. read more

Absolutely wonderful!!! The fries with truffle oil were amazing !! We had the Mac and cheese as a side, Bolognese and chicken with Brussels spouts !! Absolutely exceeded my expectations !! read more

Awesome food you won't go wrong . We started with the mussel appetizer, which my husband and I split. Then shared the bolognese pappardelle with crusty bread. . Would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

A very good option in the medium-priced range. Just a dozen or so tables inside, but our table for two was not cramped in the slightest. The Biltmore Village surroundings are nice and walkable. Balanced menu with a meat, poultry, or fish to tempt every taste. The medium-rare duck breast was tender and fatty. Cheese board appetizer is plenty for two. Service is attentive and experienced. Complete but not overwhelming wine list, focusing on California and French reds, with an emphasis on blends. This is the only place so far in Asheville where I've seen a Sauternes on the dessert wine list; but the portions were big enough that by dessert time I was too full to try it. I would have given Fig 5 stars, but nothing we tasted blew our minds away. Everything was very good, but not in that sublime range that makes you just go "wow." read more

Impeccable service. Mark made us feel like family and sent us a plate of pommes frites on the house (which was amazing). I ordered the pork tenderloin and a side of mac and cheese. The pork was simple, tender, and flavorful. Done right. A lot of these "fancy" mac and cheese dishes are flavorless and dry, but this was decadent and delicious. Generous wine pours. Overall great experience and great food. read more

YOU MUST ET HERE!!!!! You get to see the amazing Tate. Absolutely amazing and thank you so much Tate. So welcoming and sweet. Now on to the food... I had the steak with Brussel sprouts and the banana, all three are a must. my husband had the scallops, brussels sprouts, chocolate pots de creme, AMAZING!!!! You will be licking your lips. The space is small but you have to call and make a reservation or you could sit at the bar. Wine selection is great, food is amazing, the staff is super sweet and welcoming. Even if you have to wait you can clearly tell that everyone is busting their tail and trying to get everyone seated and serve as quickly as possible. I would absolutely come back here again and will recommend to anyone and everyone that I know is visiting Asheville Biltmore Village. read more

Brunch today was absolutely fantastic. The food was so delicious and the drinks were exactly what was needed for this rainy sunday. Server was very attentive and food came out extremely fast. Will continue to support this amazing gem in Biltmore. read more

Sadly I saw that everyone posted reviews about seafood but the damn place only had one seafood dish! And it was a salmon! So beware, this place is a bistro so the menu changes very often! Thus if you want something you didn't think you came here for, you are at the right place! Good luck sucker! read more

Fig - Wtf? - French Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

Ate a light lunch here before we toured the Biltmore Mansion. We ordered the radish and butter appetizer and got the duck confit salad and smoked trout salad as entrees. Everything was amazing and delicious. I highly recommend this local place while in Asheville. read more

A friend & I had went for a pedicure nearby and stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. Several open tables but we were asked if we had a reservation and we said no. We were seated at a tiny table (with 2 four top tables open next to us through the whole meal) and I ordered Mac-n-cheese and my friend had the bolognese. It was fantastic and wonderful service. I'd say that the only downside is that my friend and I started to "catch up" and talking for awhile so they asked us to leave so they could vacate the table because they had "a lot of reservations coming in". First time that has ever, ever happened to me. Clearly you need a reservation and have patience finding parking. Food and service was fantastic though. read more

Very overpriced, service was pretty rough. I got the duck, and the portion was very small and just soaked in vinegar. They didn't wash the chard either, so it just coats your teeth in wax. Definitely not going back there ever. read more

What a gem! Read the reviews on Yelp and thought this would be a nice spot for lunch ( they aren't serving dinner due to lack of staffing). Excellent food prepared and presented lovingly. Everyone enjoyed their food and the pot a creme for dessert was amazing! Definitely recommend and will return! read more

Wow what a great cafe/bistro! The food was fantastic and our waitress was great. My only feedback is to ask your staff not to smoke right outside the kitchen because the smell wafts into the outdoor seating area. This was unpleasant and made it difficult to fully enjoy our meal. read more

Beautiful restaurant in a warm & inviting space. Can get crowded quickly though, so make a reservation if you want to ensure a table. Thoughtfully prepared entrees. read more

What a great spot. We were touring the Biltmore Village and saw Fig. I had heard of it, but wasn't sure if we could get in. We luckily got there before the Sunday crowd and enjoyed an amazing brunch. We started with the doughnuts, OMG, light and fresh. I ordered the daily quiche, roasted garlic and chirizo, and my Mom enjoyed the crispy poached eggs and truffle risotta. All was wonderful. However, I have to say the homemade strawberry jam, that came with my toast, was AMAZING! A great spot that I hope all will enjoy! read more

AWESOME Vegan place. Had the Hot and Sour soup which was very delicate yet spicy. The grilled Ceasar was super good too, with amazing croutons and a great dressing. Entree was great too, can't remember exactly what it was, but I remember the crispy mushroom 'bacon'. It was wonderful. Great atmosphere and great service. Not cheap, but well worth the price. read more

Nice ambiance and very quaint. Food was excellent and the service was good. I would definitely come back. It's worth the money and time!

One of, if not, the best restaurant in Asheville. My wife & I enjoy all the great places from Curate to Hole donuts & everything in between. That said every time we grab lunch at Fig we're delighted... from soups to entrees to desert... the place is simply terrific. We highly recommend Fig! read more

Beautiful evening, outdoor seating and a great dining experience. The salads, mussels, and truffle fries we got were prepared to perfection and so delicious. The service was five star across the board! read more

The mussels were great, in a tasty broth that you should use to soak your bread in. The place is a bit small, we arrived on a Saturday evening and it was not too busy, no wait. The staff was friendly and attentive. The portions are large, we split a dinner and did not leave hungry. read more

Simple, but clearly well-thought out French menu. Authentic use of sauces across six different meats and seafood. Great vegetables (I even ate black-eyed peas) Even great deserts with authentic French inqedients. Location is a bit odd - in the bottom floor of a condo and retail bldg. Just walking distance from the Grand Bohemian and close to the Biltmore. Off the beaten path but well worth it! read more

We ate there just after they had renovated during the pandemic. The dishes were fabulous! The owner was there and we had a delightful conversation with her. The dessert selection was fantastic - we enjoyed several of them. I've recommended this establishment to everyone who tells me that they are visiting Asheville. I'm looking forward to eating there again when I return next month. read more

Dinner on Valentine's evening was a very pleasant experience. Not rushed due huge crowds like many places on this the second most busy night of the year for most restaurants. Pommes Frites were very nicely seasoned. Mains, Salmon, Risotto(with added shrimp) and the Bolognese were all very good. We will return. read more

Fig - French Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

Very nice place for lunch! Service was friendly and the atmosphere was quaint. Truffle fries were good but I've had better (couldn't really taste the truffle oil). Pan seared salmon was nice but was a little bland. Grilled chicken was dry and could have used more sauce but the rice with fava beans and charred cauliflower were nice. If going back with definitely order the Reuben which was probably the best tasting. read more

The bread was really good. No, really. Seems like we need to add more. Nice olive oil with that bread. read more

We visited Biltmore Estate for the weekend and I specifically wanted to go to Fig on one of the nights and I certainly was not disappointed. The wife and I both loved our entrees. I had the duck with beluga lentil and sauteed cabbage. The wife had the steak. The portions were generous compared to other similar places that I've been to. our entrees were so big that we didn't have much space for dessert. The only negative (ie. might not really be considered a negative for others) that I might add is the limited amount of appetizer options. We don't eat pork/ham; so we were limited on the appetizer option. All in all, Fig is an excellent local restaurant in Asheville. We would love to recommend this to our friends or whoever is visiting Asheville. read more

Fig - Duck with cabbage and jus - French Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

Asheville, N. C. is a long way down I-81 from Baltimore. The downtown and surrounding areas are dotted with art and good places to eat. While the Beaufort House Inn B&B took great care of us for breakfast, we were on our own for lunch and dinner. They did provide us with a list of local favorites. Fig got a good review,so we headed there one night. Asheville could use more street signs and the streets sometimes change names, but nothing is very far away. Fig is in an office/shop complex. Like a smaller version of Cross Keys. We saw the sign from the street and found the entrance to the courtyard. Five or six tables outside and maybe close to the same inside. We sat outside in the cool Summer evening. Fig is one of those places where you put a fork or spoonful in your mouth and then let the flavors unwind before chewing and swallowing. Fig has their own twist for french fries and our new friend at the net table shared a few with us. I seldom see sweetbreads on a menu and they were not on the online menu. They had them and I was hooked. They were nicely prepared, delicate and tasty. Bette had the Salmon with melted leeks, fingerling potato home fries, oyster mushrooms, pinot noir jus. We shared one dessert; Panna Cotta. It was described as lemon and goat cheese panna cotta, raspeberry-thai chili sorbet, fig balsamic reduction. A lot of words there, but the combination was sublime. If you're a foodie, you will enjoy Fig. read more

After reading several Yelp reviews I have to say our party of eight were disappointed ! I had the PEI Mussels which were nice and the Tuna salad appetizer which was also ok. A few of our party had the Risotto which I sampled and was overalls citrus and the rock shrimp added nothing to the dish. On the positive side the Salmon and chicken breast dishes were VERY good. Wine list was limited and slightly over market price. read more

Amazing food, quality ingredients. Very nice and helpful hosts. Also good safety practices in place.

Yuuuummm! I can't have milk or heavy cream type things, so I ordered the bolognese without cream. It was great! I had my first hot toddy, my husband had the tomato cream soup with a salad and we got the wine pear dessert with the soft cheese on the side. Everything was delicious! Sun was our bartender and server. He was super friendly and attentive. Our food came out really fast! It was such a good end to a rough day. We had been trapped in standstill traffic for 2.5hrs in Biltmore before we made it to this adorable and cozy restaurant. So glad we came here today! read more

I found this wonderful bistro on Yelp when planning my trip to Asheville. So glad I booked a reservation! The atmosphere, food and wait staff are amazing. Came to dinner after checking into our hotel and we didn't know what to expect, but I must say, food was incredible and staff absolutely amazing! We decided to brave the 39 degree temperature, dress warmly, and try the heated outdoor seating. We were not disappointed! I ended up taking my coat off. It's limited seating in their cute little courtyard but they do take reservations. As others have pointed out, this is some of the best food in Asheville!
