This is a 4.5 rating. By far the best Mexican food in Bozeman. The prices are fair, the portions are huge and the food has flavor (what a concept). Not the best ambience but, I'd rather the food taste great than sit in a fancy chair. Tamales are good, enchiladas are good, tacos...not so much! I also want to edit this to add....if you're comparing this to REAL mexican food, it's definitely not a 4.5...maybe a 3 but even a lot of places in So. Cal would get the same review. This place is the real deal...for Bozeman mexican cuisine. I migrated here from Phoenix, and I've tried other mexican restaurants in town, which bring shame upon themselves in comparison. I do realize this is Montana and diversity isn't our forte, but you can't be a real mexican restaurant if you have no MEXICANS working there...just sayin! I can't tell you how impressed I was to find this little gem in the middle of Montana! I ordered the chicken Flautas (served with beans & rice, shredded lettuce, tomatos, guac. and sour cream). These are not the thin, over- fried taquitos I expected. These flautas were fully stuffed with well seasoned chicken in two large, beautifully cooked tortillas. The refried beans and rice were so authentic in flavor and the portion size was impressive for the price. I also ordered one beef tamale on the side. The Masa! Oh that masa was SO delicious and again the meat was perfectly seasoned. I can't wait to go back again.... oh and the Margaritas are seriously well made! read more

Had lunch at this gem and loved what they had to offer. The decor is really authentic and it is probably one of the most authentic mexican restaurants I have eaten at while living in Montana. They have a really good menu with a wide variety of options and they give you chips and salsa while you have to wait for your food to come out. We went through probably at least three rounds of chips and salsa with no complaints or ever being denied more which was awesome. It was fast for a mexican place and wasn't crowded around lunch. We didn't have a ton of time so it was nice that it was close and that they also were fast about taking the orders and delivering the food to our table. They were quick to box anything up and get us our check so we could get out of their in a reasonable amount of time which is most people want for their lunch. read more

Pretty good, if basic, Sonoran style food. Chicken mole is decent, if not on a par with the best I've had. Chile Colorado is quite good as is the chile verde. Good salsa, average chips. I'm from California, both southern and central, and have had a lot of Mexican food. This is pretty good, and by far the best in Bozeman. Bonus, when I went there for lunch today, the vast majority of customers were Mexicans which probably says something about the food. Service is good and the food is great, as are the prices. I have been waiting to be comfortable enough to go out to eat with my family for some time now. I'm sure glad that we were able to go on Sunday. The service was a little slow at first after we were seated. That's ok because the food made up for it. Everything was spot on! We started with the queso and I have no regrets on that decision. Hands down the best I have had in years. My daughter and I shared the chicken fajitas and they were really tasty and with a lot to take home for leftovers. My other three kids ordered the kids chicken quesadilla, chicken enchiladas and the ground beef burrito. The kids portions were huge and wonderful to have for leftovers. My husband ordered a combo that consisted of a taco, rellano and tostada. He enjoyed his meal. As for the margaritas they were so refreshing and hit the spot. They were not heavy and syrupy like other ones I have tried at different restaurants. Let's just say that it's safe to say they will be seeing us a lot. We have only been in Bozeman for a little over a year and searching for a wonderful Mexican Restaurant that has yummy authentic food. Everything I tried was bland and piled high with cheese. Salsa isn't good nor are the refried beans.

The Food is pretty decent, but pricing is a little high. You get a large portion but the chicken carnitas was mainly peppers and onions not much meat. Also we asked to substitute red sauce for white cheese sauce and they added $13.00 to our bill and didn't tell us until we got the bill. So at the end of it they attempted to charge us $25.00 for cheese dip! read more

Must be a local chain. We chose this one over Belgrade as it had better reviews. Ordered the Big Sky Margarita. Decent flavor (may have been better but I asked for no salt and it came with salt). We ordered the queso app. It was rich and thick unlike some other places we've been where it seems watered down. Salsa is decent. Way more food than you can eat. A bit pricey from what I am used to back home, but it's a tourist town....I ordered the enchiladas. Cheese and beef were my favorite. Chicken just ok. read more

This was a fantastic meal! It was the best Chalupa I have ever had. Not drowned in sauce. Pablano chilies were great. Salsa was not to hot with great flavor. Really just fabulous. Great service, I had the carne asada plate. I asked for extra tortillas, they brought them for me. I asked for roasted jalapeños, they brought them for me. Server asked if I wanted the spicy red sauce and of course I did. It's HOT!!! I love hot food but this made me sit up a little straighter. The only complaint I could make here is the bar. If you were looking for bland Mexican food, this is your place. After reading all the awesome reviews, we stopped on our way through our cross-country travels. We were really disappointed. We are vegetarian and usually you can find anything on a Mexican restaurant menu. However, the options were very limited and when we did get our food, it wasn't good. We were driving thru Bozeman & saw the 4-star Yelp rating & decided to check it out. Very disappointing. It's a sub-par tex-mex style place where everything is covered by rivers of orange cheese & everything tastes the same. We were hungry, though and ate as much as we could. Unfortunately it gave my wife & I extreme stomach distress & we ended up having to get a hotel in Bozeman so we could be near un el baño. I've got an iron stomach & the last time this happened was 15 years ago. I recommend just saying "no" to this place. read more
