I have been here twice. The first time we had good service and good food. Had chips salsa and guac right off the bat. not charged for it. my second visit here was well... pathetic. THe waiter needed a better understanding of English... Charged us for the guacamole which we weren't for our first visit. I don't know if this was a mistake or not.. Then when i paid in cash never gave me my change .. assuming it was his tip Which i had to retrieve.... POOR SERVICE. and the fajitas were well... im sure taco bell has better. This restaurant needs to train their servers better. There are better Mexican restaurants that is worth the drive. NOT WORTH THE MONEY read more

Very friendly staff and accommodated our party of 9 rather quickly. The reason I rated this restaurant 3 stars is because of a few things. 1st off the bathroom situation is inadequate. The line for the 2 single unisex bathrooms went out through the restaurant. Not to mention it was a little uncomfortable watching people who had to pee dance around right next to my table. Some of our food was good...some was average...and then there was my fish tacos! The amount of fish (which was not much) on the tacos was sinful!! How someone could put that little amount of fish on a taco and think it was appropriate should be fired! Wonderful food. Service was great. My family had the chicken quesadilla, beef tacos, and burritos. The chips and salsa was hot and fresh. The bathrooms could use some cleaning but we went at a very busy time. We will definitely be returning next year when we come to view Christmas lights in mount Dora. Quick shout out to Fiesta Grande in Mt Dora. Last night, due to the Light Up Mt Dora festivities, was INSANE. There were so many people out, and this jam-packed restaurant ran like a top. Given our vantage point the bar, beautiful food flew out of the kitchen, we never saw anything but teamwork from the staff, and it was impressive. Our chicken tacos were delicious and came out perfectly. Bueno! This is not the first time I've enjoyed their food, but every time I've eaten there the food was prepared perfectly. The shrimp a la diabla, the veggie fajitas and the green enchiladas are all winners, and their chips and salsa are fresh and very good. 2 for 1 drink specials, generally quick seating, and separated dining areas keep the noise down so you can converse. read more

Second time trying this restaurant. Each time, the food was very tasty. Their warm chips and salsa starts you off craving for a great Mexican dish. I had a combination. Full of flavor! Truly authentic and plentiful. My combo came with one hefty burrito, one tasty crunchy beef taco, one over-loaded with cheese enchilada and one plumped chalupa! Needless to say - I was full! In fact, now I'm full thinking about how full I was! Mount Dora is a great place to relax and can be a romantic place to unwind, with a great plus having this restaurant in walking distance makes it an even better place to stay. Heard about this place from a friend that raved about it - he mostly raved about the Margaritas, not the food. Tried a simple meal, burrito, enchilada and nachos. I noticed the plate was hot, the meal was ice cold. Here's a hint, if the plate is piping hot and the food is not, the meal has PROBABLY BEEN MICROWAVED! The food was bland, pretty much tasteless. The Coca Cola was the best part of the meal. The food lacked seasoning and had no resemblance to Mexican cuisine. The service left a lot to be desired, no cola refill was offered by the server. I come here a lot, the lunch prices are a steal! and dinner prices are reasonable for that area. For some cheap really good fajita and margarita come 4-7 and you wont be disappointed. I like it for the friendly staff, and the food is always consistent. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is laid-back-sit out on the porch on a nice day or evening and sip margaritas! Update: the last time we were there and ordered our favorite-Brochetta (?) a dish with meat, pineapple, bacon and cheese and tortillas to make your own-it was greasy and the bacon was all fat. I'm giving it 2 starts because of the alcohol prices. The food however is terrible. My wife ordered a chicken quesadilla that had more onion in it than chicken! Also the onion was raw. I had fish tacos that tasted like they were a couple days past fresh and been under a heat lamp for a few hours. Also the service was subpar, we requested a table outside and said we would wait. The hostess however said they were all reserved and proceeded to seat us in the busiest part of the restaurant. Not a very pleasant experience. Go for the drinks, do not order the food. read more

The menu is typical Mexican. I had the Fajitas Brocheta, which was both unique and tasty. The combo version has strips of both steak and chicken, bacon, green pepper, onion, pineapple and mushroom, covered in a light layer of (real) melted cheese, sizzling on a hot iron plate, with warm tortillas. My wife's chicken enchiladas were nothing special, and she called out the refried beans as tasteless. Service (on a Saturday night) was very slow. read more

Located in Mt. Dora, a few steps off of the main historic downtown square. Friend enjoyed a grilled chicken salad, which was presented like a cobb salad. She really enjoyed the quality and spices used for the chicken and ordered some quac on the side which she was very happy with. I enjoyed noshing on some chips and salsa- the salsa had great flavor, some nice zing and the chips were house made and tasty. Would definitely come back in to enjoy some other menu items. This is a solid spot for some Mexican food. They offer chips, salsa, and cheese dip right off the bat, and deliver great service after that. They have an outdoor patio which is dog friendly, and a Grande amount of seating inside. The ambiance is near perfect. Now, I'm not saying that the food has to be so spicy that you leave the place burping fire and farting lava, but come on it's Mexican. Kick me in the ass a little bit already. I especially think the "Hot and Spicy Burrito" should be, you know, hot and spicy. Just a thought. Arlette is a great server - quick, efficient and non-obtrusive. The food is still good, especially the fiesta nachos, but the chipotle wings were overly crisp this time. I think they're best when you request all drummies. No reservations accepted on weekends, but 2 can be seated quickly, even with the omnipresent festivals downtown. Margaritas are huge and pretty strong - just tell them not too sweet or just get their skinny (made with maestro). choriqueso is something I wouldn't order again. fresh salsa and guac. a solid tex mex experience. read more

This place has the very best chile rellenos EVER. Trust me, I have tried them everywhere and these are the best! The servers are always friendly, albeit a little slow sometimes and the fajitas are good too! Tucked along a side street in picturesque downtown Mt. Dora is an authentic taste of Mexico - otherwise known as the Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill. Residing in what was once an Irish pub, the Fiesta Grande boasts both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a decent sized bar. My husband and I have dined here on many occasions, most recently being July 4th. This time around I had the #18, a tasty combination of a chile relleno, chalupa and rice. All were delicious, particularly the chile relleno which was covered in a sauce that has a slightly sweet note to it. My husband had the #1 which was a combination of a taco, chalupa, burrito and enchilada. Again, all the items were very good and he particularly liked the cheese that was used. (Usually, he doesn't care for the cheese that tops Mexican dishes.) HELPFUL HINT: If you order a combo that includes a taco, eat the taco first while it is still crispy. Otherwise, it turns into a soggy mess. I learned this the hard way! The service here has always been professional and attentive. Our drinks and salsa/chips bowls were refilled without our even asking. All in all, if you ever find yourself in Mt. Dora and craving something a bit exotic, consider stopping by the Fiesta Grande. read more

This little Mexican place is a bit off the main path, on a side street of Mount Dora. First impressions were okay...nicely laid out and decorated...But, there were only two other parties in the place and they were going to seat five of us at a little table for four. Typical Mex place you get chips and salsa...not the best I've had, but not the worst....just kind of okay. Menu seemed a bit pricy for what you get, but Mount Dora is a tourist area...Food was okay...just very typical non-Mexican Mexican, if you know what I mean. This is a cool little Mexican restaurant in the heart of Mt Dora. The decor is awesome, in my opinion, with sugar-skull art all over the place. It has a bright, open feeling to it, with a bar at one end, and lots of restaurant seating spread across 2 rooms. The obligatory chips and salsa are some of the best I have had from all the Mexican restaurants I have dined at. We went through several baskets of chips, and several bowls of salsa! Prices are a little higher than at some I have experienced. We were here for a late-night snack, after viewing Christmas lights, and watching the boat parade, so the place was packed! Service was quick and pleasant, though I overheard some conversation between employees that told me their tempers were wearing thin. The cervezas were nice and cold, and my wife & I had the beef nachos. Definitely NOT what we were expecting! Usually, I get a plate of a bunch of chips with beef, cheese, peppers, etc. poured over them. Instead, these were individual chips, laid out purposefully in a circle around the plate, with lots of queso and beef on each chip, and the lettuce/peppers in the middle of the circle. Portion size was less than I expected for $8, but it was delicious. Most meals on the menu priced in the teens. Our server was again prompt with bringing our check, and ringing us out. Overall, I would visit again, and would recommend this place, if you're visiting the area and have a hankerin' for some Mexican! read more

I love this place, especially sitting on the patio. I always get the steak fajitas and a strawberry margarita on the rocks. If you go for lunch, all of their lunch specials are exactly the same size as dinner entrees but for about half the price. Happy hour for drinks is everyday which is 2 for the price of 1 (although they don't bring out 2 drinks over the course of the meal, they give you 1 HUGE margarita mug instead). read more

Fish tacos were fantastic and big chunks of fish. 2 for 1 margaritas were delicious. My wife and I sat in the deck during the afternoon. Funny to see all these people bundled up and shivering while I'm in shorts and T-shirt. Guess my thick Wisconsin blood keeps me warmer. Wait staff was awesome, kind and courteous and always spot on with service. My wife had the enchiladas and my parents had chimichangas. All were great and very flavorful. We are vegans and searched for options in the area. When I saw the soy chicken fajitas, I knew we had to try it. Monse was so nice and helpful and even let us know there was vegan cheese. The food was AMAZING, and we happened to be there for 2-4-1 margaritas too. If we lived closer we would be here multiple times a week. We went to this restaurant for a birthday lunch on a Sunday and I'd have to say we had great timing because it filled up fast with the church crowd. I was not impressed with the house margarita ($5). It tasted like lemonade. For $6-8 you can get premium tequila which would probably taste better. I usually know its not good if it's in a beer mug lol On to the good stuff- the food! The guys ordered spicy salsa & guacamole. Both were very yummy & home made! I ordered Combo D, which after having chips I couldn't finish it! It was chicken enchilada, beef taco & burrito.
