As others stated you only come here for the food. The atmosphere is only average actually below average attached to a Mexican Tienda. Next loud Spanish Music from a Jukebox, which could had been set at a lower volume. The service was good and the food was authentic Mexican which was good. Prices were fair. From the outside you would definitely not think it was a restaurant. In fact, it's attached to a Mexican grocery store. There are bars on the windows. Dining room is small - probably seats 25 tops. There is a CD jukebox. We were the only gringos there, and it was 80% capacity. Server was very nice. The sweet tea was fruity. Maybe peach or orange? I didn't care for it. The menu was in Spanish and authentic. It was a bit nerve-wracking to be honest. Loud Spanish music and voices and a long grocery store line. Chips were legitimate gone made. They were ok. Some were undercooked and soggy. Salsa was nothing special. They didn't give much of either, but offered more. Silverware was in a paper sleeve. Only a fork. I ordered chilliquilles with green sauce from the breakfast menu. No egg and added chicken. They were delicious! The refried beans were excellent too. Rice had a few veggies sprinkled in, like green beans, peas, corn & carrots. It was so-so. Paying was the most annoying part. We had to wait in line behind grocery shoppers to pay. Like 15-minutes. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Lake County. There is a great variety and everything is really fresh. The staff is friendly and the prices are great. I have yet to be disappointed. Since moving her from Austin I've always been in the lookout for a decent Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant like back home. This place nails it with a much better selection than Ive seen in years. True to form; Some of the best, most authentic eats can be found in these little mom and pop hole in the wall operations. Nothing fancy about this place at all; Uber casual decently clean. I had a burrito which was pretty good. My friends ordered the Menudo Soup and they loved it. They bragged about it being the best they have ever had. I paid the bill so my only concern was that they gave one of my friend's a bowl of tortillas which she didn't order nor did she eat and was served and charged for them. Just driving through, when we stopped at this unassuming Mexican spot. Has a little market attached to it as well. Sat down at a booth, the server was very nice & attentive. We went there for our anniversary dinner. The server brought out our food and started to walk away. We didn't even have silverware. I had to stop her and ask for some. We did not like the food at all. Tasted really bad. My husband asked for the check and she finally came back to give us the check after 15 minutes. She asked if we wanted a box and we said NO because we did not like it at all. She didn't even say sorry can I get you something else or anything. I would not recommend this place at all. We left this place and had to go somewhere else to eat and spend more money on our dinner. Should of known it would of been bad when it is Saturday night and was not packed at all. Again I eat here almost on a daily basis since I pass here on my way to work. Have never had their fahitas but everything else Ive had. Lately my fave is the red enchiladas with chicken they are somewhat spicy but with lots of flavor they usually come with lots of cheese and some sour cream on top. My boyfriend and I decided to go there the first time, assuming that it would be a great little place close to home but I was extremely disappointed. The waitress came over to us about 30 seconds after we sat down to ask what we wanted, we gave our drink order and tried to order the Queso for an appetizer, she told us they were out. We tried to order another appetizer and they were out, finally found out what they actually had and it was guacamole which was just OK, nothing that I would ever order again but not terrible. Their chips are thick fried tortillas, so when eating them I felt like I was chewing on rocks. I ordered beef enchiladas which includes a side of rice, beans and salad. The rice was flavorless and dry, the beans were so runny that it seemed like soup, the salad was just so disgusting I didn't touch it and the enchiladas had barely any filling, it was basically all tortilla. They also gave me enchiladas with green sauce instead of the red that I ordered. We tried to order fried ice cream for desert but surprise surprise they were out of that too! On top of all of this our waitress was just rude. Prices are way too high for a place like this, we paid $35 total for our meal. Never again. read more

Sadly disappointed. I pass by this place often so decided to give it a shot after reading a few good reviews, even though the place never seems busy. I ordered fajitas to go. The server recommended the "mix" or "combo" to which i agreed. The service was polite and the food was prepared fast. I paid for my to-go order for a total of $12.99 + tax!!! for lunch!!! Given the location and appearance I was shocked. But figured maybe the food is just that good. Its NOT. First bite, one word....salt. Lots of salt. My girl friend puts salt on pizza and even she thought the food was extremely salty. One more word...Tough. The combo or "mix" includes steak, chicken, and two shrimp. Yes TWO shrimps. Even the shrimp were tough, dry and chewy. The chicken was literally jerky. No over exaggeration. The steak full of grizzle and fat. Rice and beans were ok but no pico de gallo, just a small portion of lettuce, sliced onions, tomatoes, and honestly beautiful slices of avacado(my favorite part of the dish). Portion size was adequate but not worth $13 even if the food were good. I can not recommend this place. read more
