Ok so first of all - YES. Surprisingly delicious food. I wish they had white rice instead of just the mexican rice. The rice and beans was a miss for me. But I got carne asada and its some of the best Ive ever had. What i loved the most is how affordable it was. Service was a little slow. We had to ask for our server plenty of times just get an ounce of attention. The margaritas were inconsistent- first one was good, second one was great. The ambiance was eh, there were lots of flies and it was noisy but pretty standard for this kind of restaurant. Bottom line, food was good and I'd come back. read more

This is a typical Mexican restaurant: great food with a lively and busy atmosphere. The food here is consistently good, and the service is friendly and fast. I particularly enjoyed the thoughtfulness that went into the holiday drink menu; my margarita was better than what you usually find at places like this. I tried my friend's apple pie margarita, which sounded horrible, but it was surprisingly tasty and upscale-looking for such a casual place. While walking around Mt. Dora Fiesta Grande had an outside sign that advertised 2 for 1 margaritas, so we decided to stop in. Our group consisted of 4 people and we all sat at the bar and ordered the margaritas. The staff also gave us some a order of chips and salsa, and there were signs at the bar letting you know the first set of chips and salsa are free but if you want more you will be charged. Some of the margaritas were strawberry flavored, mango flavored, and frozen. The margaritas were just ok, they really lacked flavor. When we were getting our bill we noticed that it didn't reflect the 2 for 1 advertising that they had outside. Once we brought this to the bartenders attention he advised us that each drink we ordered was considered a double but no one advised us of that while ordering. We told the bartender that was misleading and he shrugged it off and walked away. Needless to say I will not be returning. read more

Fiesta Grande is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Mount Dora. Located in the fun and friendly downtown, Fiesta staff will get you started with complimentary chips and salsa. They have a full bar and offer outdoor seats and have a ton of tables inside, so wait times are usually short. The dining room is ready for a party, and the margaritas are perfection. It was my first time visiting this location. And it did not disappoint. I had the chicken flautas and they were cooked perfectly crispy and flavorful. The food is very fresh here and comes out hot. The service is great and quick. We also loved the house Margarita - it is a big drink and you can also take it to go to enjoy while you walk around downtown Mount Dora. My boyfriend enjoyed his burrito! The salsa and chips were great to start while you wait for your food. I wanted to wait until we had a few visits before reviewing. Tonight we came in for our 3rd Taco Tuesday in a row. I guess that is a good sign that we had 2 great visits! Unfortunately, tonight's visit was completely opposite of what we expected. Our first two visits were also on Taco Tuesday so we felt we knew what to expect...Busy, but no wait for seating, prompt service, well-timed food. This is an experienced restaurant and they seemed to have a well-oiled machine until tonight. We arrived shortly before 7pm and were seated outside right away. Our server (who may have been the manager?) came by a few minutes later and got our drink order. Returned with our drinks shortly after and took the order of the table next to us and then ours. We then started to wait....and wait...the table next to us whose order was taken at the same time received their food. We figured ok ours should be out soon after...we waited some more...our server from last Tuesday came by and offered us refills on our drinks...then our server came by and let us know our food would be out soon....after another 10 mins passed and no further sign of our server I went to the hostess to ask to speak to a manager. My partner and I ordered 3 street tacos, 1 crunchy taco and a tamale. Nothing complicated or unexpected on Taco Tuesday. But for some reason everyone on the patio received their food but us. After speaking with the hostess our server arrived back at our table to apologize but still no food. We were offered excuses that the kitchen was very busy (again, the table next to us who ordered at the same time and had made to order entrees {fajitas} as compared to a tamale that I know isn't being prepared as each order comes in...had received and FINISHED their meal as we were given excuses) which I would understand or at least be a bit more understanding if that was communicated to us at any point in our 45 minute wait. But it wasn't. And so we asked to pay for our sodas and leave. Our server/manager offered to get us our food, but at that point our appetite was gone due to the frustration. So that's the bad news. The good news is that based off our first 2 experiences we will at some point come back and give it another try. Everything we've eaten has been tasty and service has* been good too, so I have to believe this was a one off, but it was really a let down tonight. I left my phone at home tonight but there wasn't any food to take photos of...but I will share pics from our last meals. read more

Lo mejor del mundo! Wow! What a GREAT way to kick off this weekend, with a lunch visit to Fiesta Grande in Mount Dora. This attractive, welcoming, and CLEAN restaurant surely has a well-deserved reputation among the Lake County foodies who can't go a week without chips, salsa, or enchiladas. I was immediately greeted and seated and was quickly munching on delicious chips and maybe the best salsa I've had all year. Love the musica, btw! Definitely okay with how the rhythm was gonna get me (lol)! Maybe the star attraction of my visit was the new Lunch Menu - child, $9.99 and including a soft drink! What?!? We've all seen how prices are only going up when dining out - this is a crazy good deal. Look at the pic and see how much food you get for ten bucks. Bummed to find out the nice patio is NOT dog friendly. I guess someone's dog bit someone and the restaurant was sued and that ruined it for the rest of us. Too bad because Mt. The drinks and the service were the highlights. I ordered a black diamond margarita (it's not black or red) and Long Island iced teas. Great drinks, made well (a happy hour would be a nice plus, but I didn't see one); and the servers were all very kind. I went for lunch and came back around dinner time for drinks. What a major disappointment! Our first stop as we began our Mt. Dora trip, was this Mexican restaurant. Our server was great. But those smiles and fast meals don't outweigh the really bad food. I asked for NO beans. I don't eat them. Out comes a plate of beans that I didn't touch. I DID get two scrawny tacos that were worse than Taco Bell. Wife reports her chicken tacos were tasteless and may have been overcooked. The rice had no flavoring. Her beans also had no taste. I read nice reviews on Yelp and had such high expectations! Oh...and this is important: The prices reflect the tourist area ridiculousness. $13 for 2 tacos !! $6.50 per taco, with rice and, Ugg, beans. Never again. read more

I had the shrimp quesadilla, and while the ingredients were all there for an excellent experience, the quesadilla was extremely salty. I mean it had my tastebuds curling up like a salted slug it was so salty. By the time I realized it, I was almost 1/3 of the way through the meal, so I didn't mention it to my waiter. His vibe was such that I'm sure he would have taken my issue to someone, but I didn't feel like prolonging my stay there. I may give it another try, but the cooks should know that shrimp are already salty, and they should be seasoned carefully for this reason. read more

My Teens & I come to visit my mom from S. FL. They always pick Fiesta Grande after she took us there the 1st time. There is indoor & outdoor seating. The Employee's are always super pleasant. We usually come on Saturday at lunch time and are seated right away. Chips are always fresh and their salsa is yummy. I always ask for their spicy sauce to blend into the salsa. Margarita on the rocks with Patrón is always amazing!! They offer multiple margarita flavors. The food is delicious and ingriedents fresh. None of us have ever been disappointed with the food. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent dining experience at this establishment. I found it unacceptable that a charge of $1.50 was levied for a small cup of salsa, a practice I have never encountered at any other Mexican restaurant. This, coupled with extremely slow service, bland tasting tacos featuring stale and rubbery steak, and the necessity of repeatedly requesting basic amenities like ice, constitutes an unsatisfactory experience. The overall impression was of a business prioritizing profit maximization through nickel-and-diming customers rather than providing quality food and service. This restaurant is your typical tourist trap. Based on these factors, I rate my experience as a D and will not be returning. I do not recommend this restaurant unless you don't mind being ripped off. Fiesta Grande offers mediocre Mexican food in a rather humble setting and OK service. There is nothing overly terrible here, but the reality is that there is nothing really special or great about here either. I am a huge fan of Mexican food and embrace a mantra that life is way too short to accept dining at mediocre Mexican restaurants. Mexican food can be such a wonderful cuisine, beautifully complex, yet simplistic. Don't settle for mediocre when seeking out a Mexican restaurant. The restaurant is located in beautiful downtown Mount Dora. We had to walk a few blocks due to the parking issues. There were so many people visiting the area which made parking a challenge. Our server was super nice. The food meh. I will say the cheese dip was really delicious. I ordered the cheese enchiladas which for $15.75 there were two tiny cheese enchiladas buried under the lettuce. Also, I don't think they really take the pandemic seriously as people were sitting so close together. I did not see one server use the hand sanitizing machine they had posted.
