We've been here before over a year ago and loved even about it! Delicious and unexpected. One of those places you tell everyone you see about. This time when we went we were disappointed that they were closed. We had looked forward to experiencing it again. This is the second time we've come as a couple around our anniversary just to enjoy the entire area. My wife brings her sister for the Jane Austen Festival; so she gets to enjoy it more. As you can imagine, it was frustrating for us. But that's not their fault; business owners do need days off & we should've checked out the places hours before going. I was super excited to go try this place for the first time. I Ordered the Big Wu when it opened and took it to go and it was incredibly salty!! Like incredibly. I was disappointed and tried to take all of the salt off but I couldn't get it all off no matter what. I tore off the crepe that was affected and that was all I could do. Came here last night and the crepes were soooo good! The fruit was fresh and the crepes were hot! I got the Nutella banana and strawberry crepe and I wish there was some more fruit in it but It was the end of the day so it was to be expected. I am so happy this spot is still going strong! Over the years, they have added to their menu and have gotten a bigger space. The staff are always helpful and the food continues to be delicious! Try the Crème brûlée and have them add strawberries. It will cost around $15. The custard is delicious but you need the strawberries to add texture and flavor. We stopped here after walking around mount Dora and looking for food sources and this grabbed our interest . Claire was not there but our crepe maker was pleasant and took our order for two large crepes and one desert crepe for a party of four adults.. it did not take long to have her produce our main meal crepes of turkey, cheese and pesto and it was delectable and just the right size for two for a mid afternoon snack meal and the cheese cake strawberry dessert crepe split among four of us hit the spot well. read more

What a wonderful local gem! This place is inside the Mount Dora marketplace which is kind of a gathering of multiple food businesses at the corner of 4th and Donnelly. So here's what they do, they make crepes. All kinds of crepes. Savory, sweet, and then they seem to do a lot of seasonal specials based on local fruits. Finally tried it and wow! These are fantastic. What a unique treat that you don't find everywhere. The owners and the staff are so incredibly nice and the food is delicious. It might be a bit hard to find, so I recommend entering through the side door and going up the ramp to get inside. I got the "something good" and I loved it. The cheesecake filling wasn't too sweet and there was a good amount of it. They were a bit light with the strawberry syrup though. I also had to wait for about 15 minutes because 2 people were ahead of me, so I wouldn't expect to wait too long if you go. There's also a nice seating area around the corner to eat. read more

Claire's is one of our family's go-to spots in downtown Mount Dora: *Location is PRIME, right on our way to whatever other shopping etc we're doing, *they've got a good amount of both sweet and savory crepes, so whether we're doing brunch or snack or dessert or easy supper, there's something everyone can be happy with, from my picky 6-year old to my "I need protein" husband *the staff are always very friendly, and super quick! I don't know anywhere else in town where our whole family can have a healthy, scratch-made hot meal in front of us within (usually) about 15 minutes. *They're reasonably-priced! The crepes are like $10-$12 apiece and very substantial. I usually get one to share with one of my kids, actually. We stopped in during Light Up Mount Dora last night, and were amazed that the team still seemed happy and energized, and they were able to get all of our crepes to us really quickly, considering the crowd! It was the right amount of sweetness and not too sweet. The service was good, and you may have to wait a little bit to order if the places it busy. It's inside the market area of Mount Dora in the back of the building and is very small inside but they have a bunch of great options to choose from. read more

I'm pretty accommodating and bringing my discretionary purse from out of town to spend on tasty, authentic ethnic food. We strolled around and through the maze of start-up shared space shops on Donnelly St seeking the promise of a real French style crepe. However, our Claire's Creperie experience was a downer. The crepes we ordered were merely aspirational. These "crepes" were paper thin, cold and worth nowhere near what we paid for them. We took two bites and chucked them in the trash. I would be ashamed to serve food like this to anyone. This is not a restaurant but more like a food truck sized kitchen operation with one small table directly in the middle of the foot traffic area with no doors and blaring music. The service was unsmilingly rendered and ambiance is non-existent. You have been warned! read more

If you're debating if its worth it the answer is YES! I got the Nutella crepe with strawberries and bananas and I loved it! I also got the scrambler with ham and it was ok, not my favorite but I'm also much more into sweets than I am into salty foods. They didn't have much seating outside but lucky for me there wasn't that many people there so I was able to find a table. So it may be difficult during the weekend but during the week you should have no trouble finding somewhere to sit. The area is also super cute, perfect for a nice stroll. Went to Claire's for lunch today and had a great meal. My Monte Cristo crepe was one of the best I've ever eaten, love the raspberry glaze on top. The place is super cute and in such a fun location, it's inside a little marketplace with other restaurants. I only wish there was more seating. My party was able to get a table, but I worry that at a busier time we may not have. Regardless, the crepes were delicious, service not bad, and decor was cute. The only piece of feedback I have is that the Crepe Brulee was a bit overpowering. It's rolled into a cone unlike a typical crepe with creme brulee filling in the middle, and I almost wish it was just made as a regular crepe as it was messy to eat and had too much filling in my opinion.
