Stopped by right before 5:30pm on a Friday and we were the only ones there. Not even 5 minutes after giving our order the parking lot fill up with cars and delivery pickups. We got the Friday special to share; 10 birria tacos for $35. They came out fast, cheesy, and the consome was just about perfect. It's hard to impress my husband so I was surprised when he made sure to tell the cook how great everything was. Thank you for a fantastic dinner! Don't get me wrong, the food IS good, but $3.50 for a street taco (Tuesday aside) is steep. There's also consistency problems. You can order the same thing every time, and every other time it will be different. Sometimes the onions are grilled, other times they just said "screw it" and include raw diced onion. Sometimes you get a grilled jalapeño included- sometimes you don't. I have experiences here where the meat was dry and not as good, but it's like a 25% chance. They've also shrunk the included salsa cups. You used to get a standard-sized cup of salsa with your order, but they downgraded to these little tiny cups that are like half a tbsp of salsa per order... extras must be paid for, of course. I know inflation is hitting us all, but that was just unnecessary. Overall I've stopped going here unless it's $2 Tuesday, that's about the only time it feels like fair value... and I have my own sauce at home. The whole point of this truck just seems to point you to their actual static restaurant, but one would hardly consider making the trip for the experience offered here. read more

Stumbled across this place because we were in the plaza. We had already eaten so we just had room for a drink. My husband and I ordered aguafrescas, pineapple and melon. The cashier asked us if we wanted the spicy rim and we couldn't resist. We had seen it on someone else's and we're already going to ask if she didn't. Both flavors were delicious and the rim made it more exciting to drink. I heard they ran out of some things and certain items cannot be taken to-go. Went to their new brick and mortar location for a work birthday lunch. The first visual impression was the very colorful, artistic, and beautiful decoration. After that, it got a little rocky. I will admit that I'm a snob when it comes to certain foods, Mexican is one of them. If I'm asking you for chicharron don't come at me with "we're out of pig skin." At least attempt to say it. It's not that difficult. The line was very long, there only appeared to be one server, and maybe two people in the kitchen. Which means the service slow. Either way, I ordered four different tacos; asada pollo, pastor, y chorizo, with an orchata for a drink. Three of my co-workers ordered the asada quesadilla. Not going to lie, the food was VERY good. The corn tortillas were not my favorite but the meats were on point. As we were ready to leave, one of my co-workers went to the restroom and mentioned a strong odor in the ladies room. I actually walked to the little hallway where the restrooms are and there was a strong odor coming out. I also smelled it in the men's room. This restaurant just opened around the corner from my office. I was looking forward to trying it. I had 2 Birria Red Tacos and a Chorizo Mulita. I was expecting an explosion of flavor. The tacos were ok but lacked flavor. The consomé that came to dip them in was good. The Mulita was also underwhelming. The mozzarella was the dominant flavor, and the corn tortillas were bogged down in grease. I expected the chorizo to bite back but it disappointed in flavor. I'm glad I tried them however they are surrounded by Mi Gordita Loca down the street and some other contenders that have them beat. Prices were a bit too much for the three items. The birria fries lacked seasoning. Also, the menu stated it would come with consomé on the side and it didn't, so the meat itself was kinda dry. The chips were chips, and the salsa came out piping hot. Like it made the chips soggy instantly, different approach, but the salsa was good. The green salsa the entrees are served with is spicy and bland. The watermelon agua fresca was the best thing I had. My husband had the strawberry agua fresca and it tasted like strawberry nesquick. Man where to even start. I can't recommend this place enough. As soon as you come in you can notice the wall of pictures for each menu item for those who may not know each cultural food. The people who take your order are always so patient and nice. If you ask them a question about any food in specific they'll answer enthusiastically to help. Also, I have never seen a restaurant bring out their food so quickly haha. I loved that part as well. It can get a bit toasty in there but it is not enough to complain. For the food, my usual order is the birria quesadilla, mexican hotdog, and carne asada fries. The birria quesadilla is packedd with cheese and beef which goes very well with the birria soup. SO much flavor in just one bite. The mexican hotdog has very nice flavors as well. Lastly, the carne asada fries is my favorite side dish. The meat, cheese, and white sauce on top of the fries is delicious. I tried to recreate these foods at home because I loved it so much. Overall, in my personal opinion, this is the best authentic place in Orlando 100%. Should definitely try it out! read more
