It's been a miss the last couple times we visited. Previously the ground beef in the tacos was too salty to eat. This last time we went the chips tasted like spray oil and our service wasn't great. We had our card out ready to go and the waitress continued to wait on other tables and walk by us. Overall the quality of the food was disappointing. read more

Went in for lunch while in town for work, couldn't remember if I'd been here before. Friendly service. Salsas were good--house salsa is tomato-based, with a healthy amount of cumin and garlic, but not overpowering. Much better than the canned marinara-tasting salsas you get at some places. The tomatillo salsa you can get upon request was very tasty as well, and much spicier. I ordered the Pollo Playa (Arroz con Pollo) which is chicken breast over rice, covered in queso. It was good. The chicken was tender and fresh-tasting. Portion wasn't huge, but definitely sufficient. Corn tortillas I got with it were high quality too, and not dry. I have to say, this place pretty much hit all the marks, and compared to many of the small-town Mexican places I've been to, it was much better. 5 stars for sure. read more

We hardly ever have problems here. We love going here.. but this is the second time a server has tried stealing money from us. We always tip unless the service is bad. One lady tried taking $20 from us and we called her out on it and we let it go. Last night we went and the food and service was horrible. Everything tasted either burnt or stale. The waiter was talking to a customer for almost the whole time we were there so we didn't get the best service and when we asked for something she was extremely rude. We didn't tip. She took it upon herself to tip herself and stole money out of our account.. not to mention the owner is standing up for her. No wonder this place has been shut down multiple times. read more

They have reopened but their "Mexican" food is not worth an Ole' by any stretch of the imagination. It's literally just plain mediocre, not worth the money, not worth the trip and definitely not worth the experience. Bland and flavorless best describes the cuisine. Go to Chava's in Edwardsville instead . It's well worth the drive. The reincarnated version of this Highland excuse for Mexican food is pitiful. read more

Save your money, Taco Bell would be a better choice. Seriously! Ordered the Americana chicken taco dinner to go. On each of the three taco's there were three of four small cubes of tomatoes. The lettuce was extremely sparse. The rice and beans came in separate containers, which was good. The beans were filled half way. The rice, 70% filled. When I arrived home I called the restaurant to inform the manager to ask if providing limited sides on their tacos. He apologized and said it was due to a new cook who they are training. Training would imply that here is someone supervising and providing hands on coaching. However, I was offered to come back for free chips and salsa. No thanks. Keep your token offer. I won't be coming back. I don't understand how this establishment can get customers. Average quality, extremely poor quantity and a rip off for the price. read more

We have been on a month long Mexican food kick in an attempts to satiate my partners hunger for rice and beans. We have had a good time of it, until now. She called her food "the store brand white bread of Mexican food". The rice was tinged with tomato sauce, but flavorless. The beans were if a thin texture and flavorless, save for salt. The burrito was small with just enough sauce to color the top of the tortilla. The chicken in the burrito appeared to have been boiled or steamed. The burrito was flavorless except for salt. The salt had been generously applied to the chicken. The tortilla was tough, soggy and chewy. Served with pico de Gallo, the pico was flavorless. The tomatoes had lost texture and, were gummy. She said it was yesterday's pico. My Chimi was flavorless. There was just enough cheese on my Chimi so that it appeared to be wrapped in plastic. I had to cut it to be sure. The tortilla was tough and soggy. We are going to have to take a pass on any more dinners here. The customer service she interacted with was friendly and personable. But, if you are looking for a good Mexican fix, Fiesta Brava might leave you wanting. I don't like it when food makes my partner unhappy. She's not that picky. read more

A few friends and I went to Fiesta Brava on New Years Eve with high expectations. I'd heard good things. Unfortunately, it was average at best. A combination of three different servers took our drink and food orders. It came out fairly quickly. I got their cheese steak and it was good. However, my rice was hard and crunchy- mostly inedible. Also, our drinks were refilled once and we were never checked on again. The place across town, Don Ole, was much better when I went there. Unless you absolutely have to go to Fiesta, I'd drive across town and go to Don. read more

A friend and I went here for lunch and the service was slow, it took us 5 minutes just to get a menu and chips then it took 15 minutes just to get a water. The server was not very friendly. We ordered a pitcher of premium Margaritas and it tasted like straight sweet and sour and it looked light like Mountain Dew. When we mentioned it to the server all he said was "sorry". Then we cashed out and we had to tell them our change. Needless to say we will not be returning. Don ole is where it's at. read more

Awesome Tex-Mex food. Can't complain about the service. Food was delivered hot and fresh, the beer was ice cold, I left only wanting more. Dmitry was a good server, he had no problems getting my food out to me quickly. Was the food as good as "The Oasis" in Austin TX? Close, but that restaurant is in a league of it's own. Bottom line, if you want Tex-Mex but don't want IBS from the sodium loaded premade stuff at Taco Bell, help out a locally owned business and definitely come by with a date.
