Just moved to O'Fallon this summer and we have been looking for a New Mexican restaurant nearby home. A friend recommended Mexico Tipico, Overall great experience and we will come back again. I will say the service was a bit lacking but food and prices were great! I didn't got without anything it was just very hands off. I got the salsa verde with chicken instead of with pork or beef. The salsa verde was good but in my opinion not spicy enough! The boyfriend and friend got tacos and both were great! One had the beef tacos with pineapple and the other had tacos with mango and avocado. read more

As someone who has grown up in this small town, living in Lebanon has always meant scarce options for good local eateries. It is my sincere wish that this restaurant remains a staple for the community. The food is consistently excellent (the best Mexican food in a 20 mile radius in my opinion), the staff has always been kind and attentive, and I have never had a long wait time here. They also offer drive-thru pick up for phone in orders, which is my favorite for convenience. The Margaritas are also strong and delicious. Occasionally this probably leads to Patrons being louder than they may realize, but that's to be expected in most places that serve alcohol in my opinion. If you haven't eaten here before, I'd highly recommend it! read more

I was very impressed with my "pollo a la parilla." The chicken, rice and beans along with salad satisfied this tourist from GA, who lived in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood located in NE GA & knows good Mexican food. This restaurant served the food quickly and the food was fresh and tasty. Glad I took the off beaten path from the interstate to enjoy the break from the road with a warm Mexican traditional dish that satisfied. Highly recommend! read more

They have amazing tacos. I ride my scooter on warm days with other seniors to enjoy their wonderful tacos and a cold margarita.

I absolutely love this Mexican restaurant! I can't tell you how many times I've been here but I've never been disappointed. Always great service and excellent food. It's worth the drive over every time even though there are plenty of good Mexican restaurants closer to the house. Some of my favorites the California burrito and the El Jalisco Special. I've also had their enchiladas, nachos and other entrees and have never been disappointed. Service is always exceptional and ready to help you pick from their extensive menu or refill your chips and salsa or your beverage. I always look forward to going to get some Mexican food from here and recommend you make this your "go-to"'for great eats! read more

If you are traveling along this route and are wanting Mexican cuisine, I highly recommend stopping at Tipico! Every time I need to head down south to visit my brother this is the only Mexican stop along the way that is worth pausing your trip to grab some grub! Three chorizo street tacos and a side a rice and sit at the bar side if you want to watch some sports. Last time I was there in January the staff was great at changing the TV so I could watch my college hoops team play while I ate. Definitely my favourite mexican restaurant around! Great selection of food, margaritas are 10/10, never had a problem/slow service so far and food is immaculate. Price is reasonable too considering how big the portions are on some dishes. Gets pretty (sometimes very) packed on Fri-Sun though which is a good sign that they have good food but also can be a while on the wait to get a table. Every other day is good though. read more

Stopped in here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered shrimp tacos and all the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I also ordered a tamale on the side and though it wasn't like any other tamale I'd had, it was quite good! Oh, and that Raspberry Margarita? THAT was awesome! It's ok. Like it's namesake, a typical Mexican joint in small town America. Stopped in while in town for business. Got worried when the house salsa tasted like marinara with some cilantro added in. Asked for some spicier salsa, and got some, but it too was obviously canned & bland. The Chile Verde looked great, tastewise, however, it was just ok. Tasted like pork in tomatillo sauce, but lacked any depth of chile flavor you get in good chile verde recipes. Service was very friendly. I'll start with the awesome Margaritas and even better drink deals during the week. Some days you can get drinks for under $3 for a 16oz! The food is delicious and serving is very generous. Prepare yo have left overs, or leave a pants size larger...but in a good way. The food is not greasy and the all very fresh. This was my first visit to Mexico Tipico. I went during lunch and they were very busy which is a good sign. I called my order ahead to go, so my wait time was minimal. The fajitas and sides were very good and the service was fine. My only issue was that it seemed like the quantity was kind of small, even though I ordered the dinner fajitas. It could be they are giving a little less good instead of raising the menu prices, which is understandable at this time. I will definitely stop in the next time I am in the area. read more

I need to sample a few more items before I write a thorough review, but so far the food was good, but not great. Prices are OK. I prefer Lafanda's in Edwardsville for this price range. I also think their menu is just too big. Cut down on the menu, offer less choices but do the things you do top notch. read more

The food was pretty good and the price was alright. The chips and salsa were excellent, but overall the meal just did not compare favorably with other Mexican restaurants I have frequented in the southwestern United States. There was hardly anyone there for lunch and whatever background music might have been playing was not loud enough to drown out the gossip of a pair of relatives in the next row of booths over from me.
