First visit today. Chicken very tender & fresh, just like I make it at home. Fries were crispy but not hard, not greasy & nasty like Canes. The waffle was good too. Mild seasoning was similar to Takis & good also. My real review is for ownership. I had a concern about some young customers being ignorant regarding other young customers. I needed to leave but it made me feel obligated to stay. Explained the issue him & he acknowledged properly & was attentive. Anyway, I had the Tex-Ville Sandwich (Electrical Fire) and a side of Mac & Cheese (Just a Burn). Tip: Don't modify your order to have the coleslaw on the side. Don't nix the pickles. What's wrong with you? It is best to consume with all the ingredients together. It is a flavor party and you can't have a party if some are left outside. The coleslaw will temper the heat and make for a more enjoyable experience. Also, mix your Mac & Cheese to distribute the heat. It is presented with the spice dashed in the center. Dallas has a lot of Halal hot chicken spots scattered across the metroplex, they range from amazing flavors (Rickys) to dull flavors (Hot Chicks) and everything in between. Fiery Hot Chicken brings in both the great taste and great marketing of the two more well known halal hot chicken places in DFW. What I really liked about this place was the milkshakes, they had a few to choose from but the Butterscotch milkshake really caught my attention. Aside from that, the restaurant was decorated very well, I felt a very Nashville vibe, from the discs plastered all over the walls to the photos placed everywhere. But when I entered the restaurant, I didn't see anyone wearing their masks. There was one employee that had a mask on but it was covering below his chin, none of the customers except me and my friends had masks on so that was a little worrisome for me. It was pretty packed inside too so if you are someone who takes the pandemic seriously, I would double mask up or order carry out to limit any type of exposure. For a Saturday evening this place was packed with people standing at the door waiting to order but people were shuffling out pretty quickly so people were able to dine in if they wanted to. As far as the customer service goes, the staff was very friendly, making sure that all of our orders were good and doing table checks when they could just to ask the customers about their experience. I really liked that, it showed that they cared about the customers and it was nice to chat with them. Overall Experience: 9/10 Taste: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Presentation: 10/10 Decor: 10/10 Here's what was ordered: Fiery Nashville Sandwich: 10/10; $12 I really enjoyed this sandwich, the brioche bun soaked up the juices from the slaw and made the experience quite delicious. I ordered the "electrical fire" spice level and it was the perfect amount of heat for me. There was even a nice spread of seasoning on the fries too. I was surprised by how spicy the fries were but the sauce that came with the order cooled me down. I was also a big fan of the sauce, it was sweet and didn't make me thirsty like the Ricky's or Raising Canes sauce. Overall I really enjoyed the sandwich combo. Tex-Ville Sandwich: 9/10; $12 I was excited to try the Tex-Ville because I LOVE texas toast, there's nothing better than a garlicky buttered piece of hot toast slathered with coleslaw and fresh hot chicken. But I felt like there wasn't any garlic butter on the bread. It was more of a sandwich with white bread instead of a brioche bun. I do believe that the sandwich would have been amazing if it was slathered with garlic butter and I hope that it happens the next time I visit. Fiery Mac & Cheese: 9/10; $12 As for the Fiery Mac & Cheese, I was genuinely excited to try this. I have seen Mac and Cheese as a side at most hot chicken spots but never an actual meal where the chicken is mixed with the Mac and Cheese. I definitely give creativity points here. The crispness of the chicken and cheesiness of the macaroni made this entree worth the $12. I would just suggest making it a little more cheesier, maybe using pepper jack and cheddar cheese to heighten the flavors. Butterscotch Shake: 9/10; $6 When I saw this on the menu, I was curious to try it. As for drinks, the other spots just serve sodas or alcoholic beverages. But shakes are new and should be welcomed, I chose the butterscotch shake out of the chocolate and taro flavors because it reminded me of butterbeer from the Harry Potter series. When I tried the shake I noticed the nice drizzle of butterscotch on the side of the cup and when I took a sip I noticed small pieces of crushed up butterscotch candy and graham cracker crust. It was incredible, the shake was thick and creamy, the crushed candy and graham crackers were an added plus. The shake was perfect alongside the spicy chicken as it doused the flames in my mouth. But I do have two things to say about the shake: first, the straw wasn't wide enough to drink through, meaning I really had to put a lot of energy into drinking it. I suggest buying larger straws so people aren't putting in so much effort to enjoy their shake. The second thing is that the shake was very rich and sweet, I was only able to drink about 1/4 of it before tapping out. I do like how I was given a bottle of water with my shake, but perhaps the shake's recipe could be altered to where it isn't so sweet. Other than that, I really liked the creativity of the recipe and the flavors that came from the butterscotch shake. Conclusion: I really liked the food at Fiery Hot Chicken. I think this place is the true rival to Ricky's, leaving Hot Chicks dead last on the list of places to try Zabiha Nashville Chicken. You can't argue with their authentic Nashville flavor - their spices and seasoning are simple yet effective hot chicken goodness that exemplify the "less is more" theory. And that classic flavor absolutely hits the spot. I've tried the chicken quarter, sandwich, tenders, and fries here. All are par excellence, with tenders being my favorite. Interesting little place. So far, it is the closest I've found to the real thing, but it's not going to generate a line out the door like you'll find in Nashville. Definitely better than Helen's in Lewisville, and I have not yet tried Rickys. I'm looking for chicken that compares to Prince's or Hattie Bs and while this gets in the general area, it's not quite there. Very strange location for this type of food, I can only assume they'll move if they are successful. There are 6 tables indoors so you can eat in if you'd like, but right now it's mostly a takeout establishment. Interior was cute and clean, and they serve Maine Root sodas in the fountain. These are the sodas Torchy's used to serve before they became sell outs. You can choose between chicken on the bone, tenders, sandwiches, etc. there are plenty of heat levels offered for everything. This is a heat that builds so don't assume the first bite is how it's going to be. I got Hot and definitely felt the heat. For reference, I'm a hot at hooters but medium at pluckers kind of girl. So i should probably drop the heat down to medium next time if I want to finish my meal without 3 drink refills :). Fries are great, tenders are served over bread to soak up the extra spice, just like in Nashville. I found the sauce served with the chicken very unusual and not all that complimentary. It was a little confusing. It was an orange sauce with heat to it, but some kind of creamy base, maybe Mayo. My chicken tenders were a touch on the dry side so there's a little room for improvement there. Fries are crinkle and were fine. You can get them with or without spice if you have a young kid or unadventurous person with you. The cole slaw was decent and not overly sweet. It's likely that I'll return again, but I will probably check out the other place mentioned before I return. This is probably a 3.5 place but I rounded up since it's the closest I've found, and I've been looking! Disappointing because I assumed the chicken would be the star of the show at a hot chicken spot. I've tried it twice now just to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke but I can now confirm that this place is definitely very meh. The chicken is the problem, which you can imagine is a big issue for a hot chicken place. I have not had the thigh/leg combo so exclude that from this review, but the sandwich and the birds nest chicken are so overcooked and dry. And not just that but they have a very strange, stringy texture that is honestly just off-putting. It makes me wonder how good the quality of the chicken to start off with is. I think they could benefit from using a brine if they aren't, and maybe cooking the chicken to a lower temp. The fries are fine. The bun is okay, but on both occasions it wasn't very soft and had an almost stale texture to them. Sucks because I really wanted to like this place with it being so much closer to me than all the other halal hot chicken spots. Maybe I'll try it again in a few months to see if they've improved.
