I discovered Fiddlesticks last Friday afternoon when meeting up with some friends for happy hour! Our plan of staying for a couple of drinks turned into a fun filled evening! We met at Fiddlesticks around 6:00 and were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the patio was! There was a nice breeze, the sun was perfectly positioned and the chairs were quite comfortable despite appearances) Myself and three other friends had a few of their "specialty cocktails" which were refreshing and tasty! I had the Big Ginger which I would highly recommend! After a couple of drinks we decided to stay and eat there since we were having such a pleasant time. We started with potato skins, which they actually make homemade at the restaurant! I found this a huge plus because I am a vegetarian so we could order some of them without bacon! I decided to try the Veggie Burger as the waitress recommended. She suggested I add Mushrooms and Swiss which I would DEFINITELY order again! I am very picky about veggie burgers and was pleasantly surprised with theirs! My friends ate the fiddlesticks burger a salad and the Cajun chicken sandwich, all of which they said were really good... word of advice try the curry sauce with the fries!! Amazing! After feeling very full and debating on whether or not we wanted to meet up with friends elsewhere we decided to have them join us! We ended up relocating inside around 11pm where we danced the rest of the night! I will definitely be back soon!!! read more

Management, of course, did nothing to help us out * A S S H O L E S D R I N K H E R E :: More on those Jersey Shore wannabees: This bar has an incredibly negative, anxious, adrenaline-filled energy, and I almost got in 5 fights on the way to the bathroom. Really. Fights. Not just posturing drunk morons - people actually threatening me for trying to make my way through the crowd. I've never been in a bar that was so uniformly populated by assholes. *F I R E ! ! ! There are crowded bars, and there are bars where they let in 25% more people than capacity. Literally a sardine can, which fueled the aggressive, frustrated crowd. This bar is a health/fire/public safety disaster waiting to happen. If you're looking to go somewhere and be an asshole with a lot of other assholes, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are approx 84,928 better bars in NYC. read more

The whole experience at Fiddlesticks was terrible. First, we were lied to by the staff when we arrived. We complained that the music was not coming through at our section of the bar. The DJ told us that the speakers were blown and there was nothing he could do about it. Afterwards, we talked to the manager and he claimed that the speakers were just shut off because the neighbors at the area of the bar complained about the noise. Since we planned ahead and called the staff to reserve the area, it was disappointing that they would not mention this fact. The service also was terrible as the wait staff did not come back with drinks and food in a timely manner, especially drinks. It was easier to actually get up and go to the bar (which was no easy trek) then to wait for the staff to come and ask you if you wanted another drink. The staff, right from the start also complained that it was a pain to have separate checks for multiple people (I thought the customer was always right - but apparently not at fiddlesticks). All in all it was terrible experience and a place I would never go to again and would never recommend. read more

Wow. Way to ruin a birthday! If you are looking for a place to have a celebration - this place is not for you! I reserved a space for my friend at the bar. It was a nice area- a platform by the DJ. Hm. How is it possible to be standing right by the DJ, and not HEAR any music? Oh. First we were told the speakers were blown out. THEN we were told that the neighbors upstairs complained. This would be good information to let party go-ers KNOW before attending. This greatly upset ALL of us! Next complaint: we were told that this area would be reserved for our party alone. We were told that there would be security/bouncers making sure that only friends would be on the platform. Can you explain to me why we had someone doing a KEG in our area at our tables? WE had to go let the bouncer know to kick them off. This was frustrating. The promised server who could get our drinks faster? Fail. She was so slow, and came once in awhile. It was so much quicker to get our own drinks. The bar is hot, stuffy, and the music.... oh, I wish I could comment, BUT i couldn't hear it! Not the place for a party! read more

Stumbled across this Irish gem in the heart of West Village last night. Such a cute homely feel. Great happy hour, $5 for basically anything at all!! In West Village! My boyfriend got the steak sandwich which he was thrilled with, almost to the point where I was like "Shut up already!" lol...but luckily I had my delicious falafel burger with sweet potato fries...let me tell you, the Irish know how to make falafel....amazing!!!Sweet potato fries were on point too, tasted sooo healthy! Service was great, the waitress was adorable and even convinced us to try two coktails before we left...which weren't in Happy Hour but they were so worth it! You HAVE to try the Cucumber Cooler and the Pineapple Captain Mojito. Will definitely be back, so much more I want to try. I'm an oldschool gal who like things that stand the test of time, and Fiddlesticks certainly has, classic food, classic drink and CLASSIC FUNNNN! read more

While conversing with colleagues over vodka Red Bulls, we lamented that there were not grates on the dance floor through which we could "relieve" ourselves. As I mentioned in another review, dance floor piss grates would allow men to cover their "piece" with a robe (perhaps a blanket in the winter?) and relieve themselves without having to use the establishment's crowded bathrooms. Implementing these theoretical floor whizz grates would do wonders for creating a more cordial environment. read more

I have been going into Fiddlesticks for a while now and I have always had a great time! I love the fact that there is so many nooks and crannies everywhere and interesting knickknack's from Ireland. I think the bartenders are very friendly and cute!! (I usually sit at the bar!) and I love the buffalo wings! It has a great pub feel to it, i think its a great mid week bar to hang in. Happy hour drinks are cheap and cheerful! What more could you ask for!!! read more

I used to like the place but it's really gone down hill. The last time I was there is going to be my very last because the service sucked. Way too crowded to have just one bartender. He also had tons of tude. NO THANKS. If you are like me and don't like crowds all that much then head down a couple of doors to the Greenwich Treehouse. Have been here for brunch several times, and it's a great deal. Food is good, 2 free drinks :) My main issue and reason for not giving it 5 stars was the waitress, she had a seriously BAD attitude. Had fun here for our late xmas party last night, Staff were pretty helpful, and the happy hour was a bonus. Food OK- your average irish pub fare, but no complaints. Burger was Good. Saw that they offered $10 brunch with 2 free drinks, and then happy hour all day Sunday - Sounds like a recession busting deal - I'll be back for sure! read more

Love this bar! Definitely the best burger in manhattan next to the spotted pig but doesn't cost $20! Lots of different nooks and crannies to hangout with friends and a huge outdoor seating area HH is until 8pm! Which is an added bonus to an already outstanding pub read more
