Fiddlesticks has been a staple for me during covid. They are following all of the protocols and I feel very safe when I'm there. The drinks here are all amazing and so creative! You can have an interesting drink no matter what type of alcohol you like. The espresso martini is one of my favorites but also love the heart beet (if I want to feel "healthy" while drinking). The holiday drinks were soooooo good! Loved the Santa's coffee and their Irish coffee is also amazing. read more

Really cool bar! I was told it was a bit of a dive but I thought it was cozy. They have some really cool outdoor seating. They're set up to resemble log cabins that can seat 2-4 people at picnic style tables. They all have decor inside like pictures on the walls and animal sculptures to make it extra welcoming plus lighting and heaters. The inside of the bar itself has some mixed level seating with a combination of picnic tables, high tops, and regular tables. There are two bars - once closer to the open space that doubles as a dance floor and a smaller one that services the tables near there. They had a few drinks that were advertised on a small sign board above the bar and they were pretty tasty sounding including a blackberry whisky sour. I will say that the drink I had wasn't super strong but that was perfectly tasty for me and not super expensive either. read more

Hopping pub in the West Village. Incredibly active and happening little pub. Plenty of draft, wine & mixed drink options to be had here. Bar is shaped kind of like a peninsula, and service was pretty good. A Guinness draft was $8 - little pricey, even for New York. This place has a full menu including appetizers like wings and nachos. They had what appeared to be a back room which you could have private parties in. They had door staff checking IDs, even ours. Heavy college presence so not your place if you don't want to deal with that kind of raucous party and shenanigans. read more

This place was SUPER busy on a Friday night. It was super popular. I didn't arrive until around 10pm (they were closing at 11pm). The vibe was amazing, and we got super lucky with a table for 2 when another group decided to merge onto one table instead. There was a massive waiting list just to even sit down for a drink or two. I ended up getting a few beers with jalapeño poppers. I would say it was all good, but the atmosphere was amazing and definitely one of the top places to be and hang out in the West village. Lots of beautiful people here, yours truly included! Service was friendly, and they definitely communicate well with each other when I ordered another round of drinks with a different waiter. Not sure how this place would work if we had to remain outdoors. Hopefully a bunch of portable/outdoor heaters can be installed easily. read more

One lucky Tuesday Fiddlesticks made such a good first impression I came here twice in the same day. Visit #1: Aprox 4:30PM. Met a friend for an outdoor seating afternoon snack and chat. We shared the Mac & Cheese and had a few beers. Mac and Cheese was amazing - definitely a contender for top 5 best mac and cheeses I've had in NY. One of those baked dishes that comes in a betty crocker type ceramic dish. The waitress can hardly hold it it's so hot, and the cheese is bubbling on top. You try to wait until it cools off but every bite you take is so cheesy, creamy, perfect, and wonderful you don't care your mouth is burning. And this continues, until the dish is cashed - somehow it stays hot, scalding hot forever. Yum. There is a pretty good happy hour offering $4 beers but you can't get it if you eat/sit outside. Visit #2: Aprox 8:30PM. Came back later that evening with another friend for drinks, it was a little chilly so we voted for inside. Thick wood all around, fairly lively bar crowd, cozy dark corners away from TVs - plenty of beers on tap to choose from. I tried a ginger cocktail, it was way too sweet and there wasn't nearly enough whiskey for my taste. Stopped in yesterday afternoon in-between West Village events - I was famished and ordered my standby, the Mac (photos attached.) I ate about 1/2 and was so full I had them bag up the cajun chicken sandwich I also ordered - what was I thinking? There was noooo way I could have eaten all that food - but it did heat up nicely in the oven this morning, and made for a spicy breakfast. read more

This review is solely about the service. Don't go here!!!! bouncers were so rude and make up rules for whoever they want. But the worst is the skinny white male bartender that cursed us out for adding a drink to a card and asking about Apple Pay. Fiddlesticks has not only elevated its cocktail menu, but their kind and helpful staff as well...as a seasoned New Yorker, I've been to fiddlesticks a few times before the pandemic but the past couple of months I've noticed a clear improvement. Specifically Monica and the other blonde Irish girl have always made me feel so welcomed and accounted for. I always appreciate outgoing and attractive staff and fiddlesticks delivers every time. I feel like I'm sitting at New York fashion week every time I walk in. I actually really respect their business model because there's no better way to sell your merch than to have hot staff wearing them. Every time I walk in, I crave a branded item even more. Special shout out to their espresso martinis--Dante is so beat now compared to theirs. Not sure who the DJ is after 9 pm but he is also doing a phenomenal job. In my experience going here, the bartenders are super friendly and nice. It's definitely a plus, but the crowd can be pretty obnoxious. If you come during off hours and sit at the little bench by the window you are golden. It's definitely the best place to sit if you are with a group of friends. The drinks are a little pricy for what you get but at least they didn't water them down like a lot of places do. Biggest appeal about this place is the service though. Firstly - Check in on Yelp for a free shot!!! I love this place. On arguably the absolute cutest street in NYC. Sitting outside makes for amazing people watching. I've been here a bunch of times, usually just for happy hour or drinks on the outdoor patio, but last night I got the Fiddlesticks Salad and it was REALLY good. For $11 you get a massive salad with avocados, feta, tomatoes, and a bunch of other stuff thrown in. **Maybe get dressing on the side if you like yours lightly dressed, however, they are pretty generous with the dressing. Sometimes service is better than others. Waitstaff is usually good and you always have someone watching your table to make sure you're all doing ok. They put out sunscreen SPF 50 on the patio when its sunny out for customers to use so they don't get burnt - how cute and thoughtful is that?! read more

I read in other reviews that this place gets crowded on the weekends, but early in the night or on weeknights, this place has plenty of room to spread out. They have a pool table in the back too, which is a plus. The food was shockingly good for a random pub. We ordered the spinach dip and sweet potato fries, and I would eat both of them again in a heartbeat. The dip was warm and creamy, and fries were perfectly crispy--just what we needed on a cold, winter night. I was impressed, and I'd like to think that the other items on the menu are just as good. This was a surprise find. Stumble upon this place after the original place we wanted to try was closed for private event. We called the place as we were walking there, and the host was so nice that she reserved a nice corner for 8 for us. Came here on a Wednesday after work with some friends. The employees were really great, and a member of our party used to work here so they gave us a HEFTY discount which was really nice of them. We sat in a pretty secluded corner which would have been easy to forget about or miss as a server but our waitress was always coming back to check on us and was very attentive. The food was SO good. I got the shepherds pie and a side of fries (I love potatoes, okay?) to split with my boyfriend. So so good, I could've eaten an entire other one and then some. I also liked that the happy hour deals go until 8PM. So many places only go till about 7/730 and by the time I get out of work and get to the bar it's pretty much over so this was nice. I've been to Fiddlesticks several times, mostly to drink, but have also had a meal or two there. 1st DRINKS nothing special, this is about an average bar in that way, with moderately priced drinks.. The grilled chicken salad was big, it tasted good and it actually filled me up, so I'd definitely say it was good and one of the better ones I've had at a bar! :D (I think it was a 'lil more pricey though) AMBIANCE looks and feels like a standard Irish bar, except it has a lot more space, lots of areas to walk and/or sit. I've only been here Thursdays thru Fridays, and there's always a good crowd. I'd say a mostly avg crowd with more than a few hot ones mixed in ;). Def a place you could come with your boys or have a girl's night out and have a good night out, without having to go to a club. BATHROOM Well, the men's room at least, is a miss. Pleasant dimly lit pub that served as a good venue for a Friday late afternoon alumni happy hour. Free house shot with Yelp checkin. A bunch of us took full advantage of this in each downing a tequila shot. Guinness was a mere $5 during happy hour (12-8, Fridays included!) and bumped up to a more typical but still reasonable $7 thereafter. There is a somewhat large area elevated a foot or so above the rest of the bar and enclosed by a waist-level wooden railing that played host to a few dozen people for this particular gathering. Having to go upstairs to use the facilities was a bit of a hassle but having the intimacy of a slightly secluded space was quite nice. Noise level was tolerable for this type of setting. There is also a pool table that a handful of people were having a good time around. A few TV's were scattered about the bar playing the sports selections of the evening (in this case, the MLB World Series). All in all, not a bad venue for a medium to large sized gathering, particularly if taking advantage of the Monday through Friday happy hour. read more

The service was EXTREMELY SLOW- expect to wait 20 min to order drinks, another 20 to get them, another 20 to order food, another 20 to get food, and another 20 for the check. Not a huge deal though since I understand it was busy. The main problem to me was the drinks. The cocktails are $15 each, which isn't insane at all for nyc, but they are WEAK. I have extremely low alcohol tolerance (2 shots worth gets me pretty drunk). I had two cocktails, and I felt NOTHING, and my friend was the same. We asked the waitress, and she said each drink has two shots worth of alcohol- there's simply no way this is true! She even offered us a shot on the house, and even that did not taste strong? In total, we ordered 4 cocktails, one app, two burgers, and left sober having our $140. Lastly, there are no Covid precautions if that is of concern to you. It is so cramped that people next to me couldn't pull out their chairs without hitting mine. Also, I do not recommend the falafel burger, but it was one of the only veg entree options.
