Dylan explained that there were several good options in different brands and offered to assist. He was so nice and helpful that we agreed to see what's available. Long story short, Dylan took the time to show us several different brands and types, then worked with us on size, width, styles and colors. We inquired about the availability of Velcro as opposed to standard laces. In response he showed us a special shoe lace that quickly secures a sneaker with minimal effort. Dick's has such a wide ranging selection of sneakers which had previously discouraged us from taking time to sort through all of the many options. If not for Dylan's friendly and professional assistance this would likely have been just another fast pass through the department. We very much appreciated his assistance without a hard sell or feeling any pressure to make a final decision or immediate purchase. We purchased New Balance sneakers, Lock Laces and a tee shirt. She told me that she was not aware of this promotion and that I "demanded" a discount from her. I immediately asked for a refund and she processed it with a smug smile on her face. I told her that I never raised my voice to her and I never demanded a discount. She had no respect for the company and when I told her that I plan to for a formal complaint, she said "go ahead, they (Columbia) will never do anything". So she is basically an incompetent peeson. When I asked for her name, she will never give it. She did not wear her name tag on purpose so she cannot be identified. In terms of corporate, she violates dress code, does not know here promos, has a listening problem, and disrespectful especially when she called me old. I am old but this shows me who she truly is that you would blatantly discriminate old people. Her coworkers Giselle and Alex's had to be on her side and i get it, but a great piece of advice, this person is not worth supporting. She will only drag you down.

This review is directed at ownership and management…read more I frequent Turner's for fishing gear and have consistently had positive experiences with the older gentleman in that department. He's knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and genuinely helpful. He represents what a specialty retailer should be. I've spent 1000's on firearms and ammunition over the years. Unfortunately, this visit was the opposite. I came in looking for M&P Shield 9mm magazines. Only one in stock -- not a problem. I figured I'd grab some ammo while I was there. As I stood in front of the ammo section trying to read the boxes, two employees directly in front of me made zero effort to acknowledge me. Not a "Can I help you?" Not even eye contact. Instead, they were occupied repeatedly racking the slide on a pistol and discussing how it was "blemished." The way it was being handled made it feel less like product inspection and more like someone building a case for why it should be discounted. I can't say for certain that the larger employee was intentionally trying to create or exaggerate wear to justify purchasing it himself -- but if that wasn't the case, the optics were spectacularly poor. What really stood out was the conversation. They were openly speaking negatively about other customers -- people who sounded like regulars -- directly in front of me. It takes a certain level of tone-deaf confidence to mock customers while another one is standing three feet away. I finally asked if they might have additional magazines in the back. The larger employee ignored me initially. When he did respond, it was with, "Are you talking to me? I'm doing paperwork," as though customer interaction was an unreasonable interruption. This was moments after he demonstrated that he was fully capable of multitasking slide manipulation and social commentary. I briefly considered asking for a manager, but decided it wasn't worth engaging further. If basic awareness and professionalism are optional on the floor, that's a leadership issue, not just an employee one. I left disappointed -- not because inventory was limited, but because the standard of service was. Specialty stores survive on expertise and professionalism. When that slips, you're just a warehouse with attitude. I hope management takes this seriously. There are strong employees at this location. Unfortunately, consistency appears to be selective.

Nico gave us about 2 hours of undivided attention in helping us find the equipment and really took the time to make sure everything was perfect for us including the comfort, design, and value of the equipment. My boyfriend and I both left the store with our own new pair of fitted boots, fully set up skis, poles, helmets, and a bunch of helpful tips. We could definitely tell that he loves what he does and puts a lot of care into his work. Apparently he's experienced in both skiing and snowboarding, so it truly felt like he knew what he was talking about. We'll definitely come back in the future for some more equipment and apparel if we're ever looking for more snow gear.
