Rick and fam are very friendly. I happily drive an hour each way for their primers (and more) because I still save a good amount of money even after the trip. Their cash carts have solid bargains too. I try to stop by once a month to stock up! read more

Powder and primers are hard to come by since Covid . If anyone is going to have it you can bet Phillips will have it. I picked up some powder, primers, .45 bullets and some new brass. The prices are reasonable considering that ya you could save if you purchase online but after hazmat and other associated fees you end up paying close to the same read more

This place is awesome. They have lost if different powder choices that no other store has in the local area. They always have small rifle primers, and often have large and magnum primers. They carry ton of reloading equipment, and often have brass in 6.5 creedmoor and . 223. They carry Hornady bullets in stock as well. This is my go to spot in the area. read more

I came in today with questions about reloading . It was busy so I waited a little until it slowed down a bit. Rick was very helpful and answered all my questions. I walked out with a new reloading press and everything I needed to start reloading. Prices were fair . Very professional shop. Bought some ammo while I was there , best price I've found. Thank you Rick ! I'll be back ! read more

An excellent place for reloading supplies and ammo but you have to buy in quantity. Be sure to call before you come.

This is a great place which has knowledgeable staff and a great line of products and availability.

This place is the best. Great ownership. Never gouged during the shortage! Stand up business. Please support our local provider of 2A needs.

Phillips Wholesale Great place for reloading supplies, (while in stock) no price gouging. Honest prices while supplies last. read more

Bare bones, no frills unassuming shop in a industrial park. Good selection of relaoding supplies and equipment. Best all around pricing you can find in the area. I go for shotgun shells (sold by the case only). Selection can be hit or miss depending on what they can get in. Knowledeable, helpful staff. Only open 3 days a week, Thursdays, Fridays at Saturdays. Also, bring your cash - they accept credit cards but charge you for credit card fees for non-cash purchases. An example of pricing, Hoppe's Bore Snakes usually around $19.99 at Turner's or other gun shops was only $12 at Phillips. read more

Phillips Wholesale - Sporting Goods Near Me - Covina, California

There are only a few places in SGV that has all the components you need to reload. The owner and family are very knowledgable and willing to give you tons of advice. Prices are very fair and will have a selection larger than Bass Pro and Ammo Bros with a better price. Large selection of MEC reloaders and other stuff you need to get started or resupply. Best stuff..... used reloaders and also silver AA Winchester hulls (they don't make them anymore). Famous for: Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun reloading supplies read more

Tip for new shooters. They do not sell ready to go ammunition, but rather the components to make loaded cartridges. Pros: Laid back atmosphere OK selection of reloading supplies for making ammunition Prices look competitive Plenty of parking Cons: No AC, so it can get hot on a SoCal summer day During peak hours there could be a wait/line read more

Great customer service, good selection of brass and powder for reloading. If you can't find something they're sure to see if they can get it in for you too. read more

Nothing to add to all the positives mentioned in previous reviews of Phillips Wholesale - just reiteration and confirmation that this is the best place for reloading supplies in San Gabriel Valley if not in the County of Los Angeles in general. Rick is a nice dude who's very helpful in answering questions about reloading, which is an absolute plus considering safety with 'splody stuff put into not-cheap-to-expensive chambers and barrels you probably put a lot of time and resources into getting/building. The prices range from fair to excellent, and favor on the excellent side of the spectrum. I'm also a big fan of the "cash only" merchandise, 'cause you can score on some really good stuff for a great price. YMMV, and the selection changes regularly, but I was able to get new Lapua brass at 40% off normal retail price. It's also a great place to get good ammo cans of various sizes to store whatever you wanna store in them. If you cast your own bullets, you can buy scrap lead there. Also, that complaint about there being no A/C is plain silly. I've been there on several hot summer days and there were air circulating fans keeping the place relatively cool and well-ventilated. Some days are just too hot in general - that's Southern California for ya. But I'd rather be inside Phillips Wholesale than outside baking in the sun. read more

They are out of everything these days, like everybody else, but normally good selection, nice owner, a good place to shop for reloading supplies. read more

Rick, the owner and main worker, is an easy-going, knowledgeable guy and will answer all your questions. I get my copper plated Xtreme bullets there, which come out cheaper than getting them online from Xtreme themselves, since he buys in bulk and passes some of that savings on to his customers. He has the essentials to get started reloading too: presses, dies, tumblers, manuals, scales, etc. And he'll order whatever you want. He's quoted me very competitive prices too, so I wouldn't hesitate to order from him -- as I have once already. I was looking for a tumbler and bought one he recommended. I'm pleased with the purchase. I've yet to find any place that has primers, powder, or bullets (just the projectiles) cheaper than Rick does. And he has them sooner than anyone else when things are hard to find. You almost want to keep this place a secret, which I suspect explains why so few people have rated it, but it deserves its 5-star rating from me. read more

Just a great place to go for reloading supplies. They have great website to check before hand if they had the inventory at the beginning of the day. Prices are extremely competitive and Rick is extremely helpful when I've asked him a question. Get there early if the stock is limited! read more

The only store in the area focused on handloading / reloading. Great source for primers, powder and projectiles. A lot of shotgun components too. Every once in a while they have used dies and other gear. Their prices are fair, and it's way easier then dealing with hazmat shipping or gun show crowds. Rick knows his stuff, is on the level, and doesn't price gouge when stock gets low. I always check in if I am in the area on the weekend. read more

What you need they have if not they could get it. Good place for experience & novice reloaders

This is a shop for ammunition reloading supplies and some gun parts. I've never been to the store, but a number of my friends have gone there. This guy often has what nobody else does. Note that the shop keeps very restrictive hours and does not have a website. Hours of operation are: Thursday, Friday, Saturday only, from 9am to 6pm. read more

Love going to this place. Rick the owner is very knowledgable and helpful. I drive all the way from Anaheim just to buy reloading supplies.

If you hand load, this is the place. They didn't join in the price gouging when supplies ran short like a few of the more well known stores did. They gentleman behind the counter was helpful and provided great advice. While a couple retailers lost me as a customer when they ran up their prices, this business continued to be fair and provide outstanding service. read more

I have been a regular customer of Phillips Wholesale for over 7 years even though I live an hour away. Rick always has what I'm looking for and in this day of shortages he is the only place to get some items. I stopped in yesterday and was able to pick up 1000 Xtreme .356 115gr RN for less then I was able to at Xtreme's factory in Carson City. Add to that a brick of CCI 500's, that most places say are unattainable, for $20 less then the stores that have them. Yes, Rick does have shortages the same as any other place during this time, but Rick will tell you exactly when the shipment you need will come in along with what ever else is coming with it. This is the best reloading shop in all of SoCal, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. read more

This place is outstanding! I got into reloading about half a year ago and found this place was somewhat close to my home. I've only been here a few times and I always find what I need. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable too if you're looking for something in particular or needs tips on certain load configurations. I recommend this place for anyone that is into reloading their own rounds. read more

I just got interested in reloading my own bullets and been searching around, from online shops to local shops. The good thing about online shopping is you get it deliver to your door but the downside to it if it involves anything from powder and primers there is an added fee of hazardous material which is not worth it if buying small amount. That lead me to Phillips. Great little store with everything you need to reload your own bullets to other firearm accessories. read more

I am a reloader and this place is by far the best secret for guys like me. Like other reviewers have said, there's nothing fancy inside, it's almost like a well organized garage sale, BUT the friendly staff probably has exactly what you're looking for. Prices are the best in Orange County and LA. They are always willing to help you and even the customers are fun and informative. Needless to say, my wife even likes coming! I've been a customer for over 7 years and always have had a great experience here. Two thumbs up! read more
