Peter was very knowledgeable and helpful with my FFL transfer. I would recommend and support my local businesses.

Peter helped with sending my slide to the dealer and getting it back. Thank you very much. Good and honest people.

Was looking into taking my FSC test and found this little gem. Pete was extremely knowledgeable about the industry and products he has; he found and recommended the best firearm for me and walk me through different guns and even gave me a bunch of tips. Very professional and high emphasis on safety! read more

Great customer service. I had a jammed pistol, they fixed it for cheap and it was done in a couple hours. Can't ask for more. I highly recommend. read more

This is the FFL everyone is looking for. Peter and James are very good and kind people. They are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do which helped me a lot. This place is very efficient which means you don't have to wait a long line to get served. I've been to this place multiple times, never waited over 10 minute to get served. I saw everyone gives good reviews about this place. It is that good. Highly recommended! read more

My visit to Peter's shop was warranted by a seized muzzle and my normal LGS being burdened with an overflow of work. This shop wasn't the closest nor the biggest in selection and size but the interaction was way more personal than what I could've anticipated with my previous experiences elsewhere. He gave me valuable insight into what modifications were worthwhile relative to what I wanted my build to do and explained to me what should be done without pushing any extraneous services. I'll likely be visiting Peter's shop for any future work on my gear. Also- Mark was pretty cool on the phone. I'll be building my first AR-15 from scratch in hopes I won't be in any need of Peter's services but I sure wouldn't mind stopping by and chatting. read more

Peter is an outstanding example of what it means to be a customer oriented small business. I've had zero issues working with him for my gunsmithing needs and he's very down to earth in our interactions. It's very obvious at Golden State Arms that you're not just a sales number to meet some quota like at the larger chain gun stores. Peter treats you like a friend first, customer second and it makes it very easy for me to happily support his small business with my hard earned money than elsewhere. read more

Best and most friendly gun shop I have been too. Not only that but the owner went an extra mile to stay open past regular closing hours. I can't express how grateful I am to have found this shop. Especially because he made the FFL transfer extremely easy for me. I recommend everyone in the SGV to make this your go to gun shop because the owner makes it his priority to help you in every possible way. read more

I've been coming to Abe for years now. During that time, I've purchased firearms, completed online firearm purchase transfers, completed PPTs, purchased stripped lowers (that he manufactured), purchased ammo, and transferred online ammo purchases. During each of these interactions Abe was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. His prices are competitive and when he doesn't have what I'm looking for in stock, he's always been able to order whatever I wanted. When I purchase firearms online, he's always sent over his FFL info quickly. And I really appreciated that he didn't price gouge in 2020/2021 when nearby FFLs were charging $800 for Glocks! I really can't say enough good things about Abe. I've recommended him to multiple friends and coworkers and will continue to take advantage of his services until either he or I move out of the area. read more

One of the few places I would rate higher than Five stars if Yelp allowed it. I drove all the way from San Diego to do a firearm transfer; unfortunately, the person I was doing the transaction with didn't check ahead of time and when we arrived at another store, we were told it was by appointment only. Each of us got on the phone and I called six other stores to hear either they weren't doing transfers or it would be a minimum of a week before I could get an appointment. I called Golden State Arms but got voicemail. The person on the message (Abe) said to leave a message and they would try to call back. I assumed they were going to be like all other stores, but left a message and proceeded to call other stores. But to my surprise, someone called me back within a few minutes but I missed the call as I was on the phone. He said his name was "Abe" and I called him back, leaving another message and once again, within a matter of minutes, he called me back. I told Abe I was trying to do a transfer and he invited me to come down anytime. His shop was only a couple of miles from where we were and as soon as we arrived at his store, he opened the doors for us. Abe is a super nice man and extremely accommodating. We had all the documents he asked for and we proceeded to complete the paperwork. I have done a few other firearm transfers and without question, this was by far the FASTEST I have ever experienced! And as others have noted, he has the lowest transfer fees. I wish all businesses were this customer service oriented. I honestly can't say enough good things about Abe and for him saving me from a wasted two hour drive when other stores wouldn't help us. If you are looking to do a firearm transfer, and you are anywhere within an hour drive, you should come here and let Abe help you. He responds quickly to phone messages and you can email them as well, and I'm sure he responds just as quickly. Thanks again Abe! read more

Abe is a friendly and helpful gun expert. He sold us our first pistol and is very knowledgable about all the state laws regarding firearms. We got our FFC and did the background check at his shop. He told us to go to a local gun range and try out a few pistols before we make a purchase. We bought a new Glock pistol that was priced rather well. He stocks a few firearms and they seem to fly off the shelves every time I'm at the store. read more

Came across Golden State Arms while seeking a FFL dealer for purchases and transfers about a year ago. I've found Abe (owner) to be friendly, professional, helpful with advice, and always very fair with his prices and fees. I was in the market for a fixed mag AR, which is tough to come by in these times. I decided to go the build route as primary use would be for out of state training/hunting. Chatting with Abe is a great experience. It's not like talking to any other FFL or gunsmith at that. He treats everyone with the utmost respect regardless of experience with firearms. I decided to purchase a stripped lower and lower parts from the FFL I found GSA from by mention. The upper receiver I went was GSA's own in house complete upper. Abe's communication is prompt, and provided updates whenever requested. I was in a short time frame due to an upcoming out of state trip and he was able to compete the rifle in time. Unfortunately, due to the ammo shortage I haven't been able to put the round count I wanted to before posting a review. I have put around 200 rounds through to date, and it has been flawless. I cannot express enough how great it was to work with Abe. I will definitely be a loyal customer and will refer anyone to Golden State Arms. Already planning on another build with GSA in the near future. Thank you Abraham! read more

Met with Abraham today and he's very helpful and considerate. I went in to have a couple guns looked at to see if they could be checked out and if they needed parts but he was very up front and honest which I appreciated because I'm not really knowledgeable. Best place around if you're looking for an FFL. Abe is very friendly and his prices are very competitive! I come all the way from Paramount to Azusa to use Golden State Arms as my FFL. I came to this shop looking for a gunsmith when i realized my rifles rail was being stripped off while at the range and was worried my receiver was now stripped. I called this shop and was told their store hours and to come in if/when i can. I went immediately and the owner was able to take a look at my bolt action rifle and determine only the screws needed to be replaced and it would be in working order. Abe is the one who helped me and is very knowledgeable and took great care with my firearm. highly recommend you come to this location. read more

Overdue review for Abe. During the pandemic every "gun shop" made it seem like they were all of a sudden superior to us normal California beings. Can't do this, can't do that, always busy. Honestly, I get it, everything is back logged due to covid, but it just seemed not one of them wanted to help at all (I won't go into details). Anyways, a friend referred me to Abe. Definitely glad he did cause he made my life so much easier. Purchases, questions, just anything he was always willing to help or answer. Thanks Abe! See you again real soon! read more

Thank you Yelpers! Was planning on buying a gun for years, but for one reason or another, just kept putting it off. Although I have many friends with guns and have gone shooting before, I never owned my own and had a lot of questions. Friends are great to go shooting with but their depth of knowledge really can range and aren't always consistent with basic gun laws. Many gun shops don't have the patience for newbies, so when I saw the reviews I immediately went over to register for a hand gun. As many have said, it's a small shop with limited inventory, so didn't make my purchase today but was fine with me. I assumed there was a waiting period anyway and wasn't mentally prepared to make my selection. Happy to have discovered a shop so conveniently located with a great person like Abe to answer all my questions. For those thinking of registering themselves, know there is a 30 question test that needs to be taken as part of the registration process. Mostly common sense, but wouldn't hurt to get familiar with CA gun laws a bit before you do. Make sure to bring $25 also, which is a reasonable cost for a gun permit. Will be making my purchase soon enough and will update with pics and reviews when I do. read more

Abe is amazing. I only go here and would highly recommend Golden State Arms for any purchases whatsoever.

Abraham is super knowledgeable and helpful. The process of buying a firearm has never been easier or smoother, especially compared to turner's/bass pro shop. Those guys make you feel dumb for asking questions, Abraham does not. Prices are in line or better than most places as well. read more

I'll admit I had my doubts at first when I met Abe, the owner, in front of his store. He just got the place recently and it was barely furnished to put it nicely. However, and this is a big one, his character and depth of knowledge really out-shined my initial impression. Very patient and professional, he walked me through all the steps of purchasing my first pistol, the tried and true Glock 19. With over a decade in the industry and then some, we spent plenty of time talking about guns, smithing, weapons manipulation, etc. Having a conversation with him was like drinking from a fire-hose; this guy is just one big wealth of wisdom when it comes to firearms and I was barely keeping up. He's not pushy into selling anything either. Yes, he's got a business to run, but he'd rather the customer walk away wiser than simply be another transaction. I have respect for the guys working at Turner's and other bigger gun stores, and while they're all great shots in 3-gun and other competitions, I doubt they can bat an eye against Abe when it comes to maintenance, smithing, and fabrication (yea, this guy MAKES guns!). Speaking of prices, this guy probably has one of the lowest prices around! I'll let you give him a call or check out his store to find out exactly what he's asking for, but put it this way, I doubt I'll bother going anywhere else except to this guy in the future. Sure, I'll still shop around just being a savvy consumer, but Abe'll likely win my business every time. Service, knowledge, and economy are all there. When I walked out of there, not only did I feel confident I had made the right choice with the G19, but most importantly, I knew I also made the right choice in bringing my business to him. P.S. this isn't just a gun store where you buy and sell guns and ammo. He's a smith, and he can do just about anything on your gun, whether you want it tuned, repaired, upgraded, or whatever! He's new in town, but I expect great things out of him and Golden State Arms. read more

Honest ABE should be his name. Took in a old worthless to most .410 that was a hand me down that also went through a house fire, Didn't burn but got wet. took to Abe to see if it was worth saving, after some small talk and him inspecting it closely He said he could do it BUT it would be easier and cheaper for me to do it myself. the gun was in good shape with some surface rust. He told me what to use and how to do it. Don't see honestly like that anymore. Thank you Sir read more
