I brought my glock 17 slide in to be milled on 2/26/24 it is currently 12/1/24 and from them origianlly saying it would take 2 weeks. They initially told me to call them if they didnt call me within the 2 weeks (which they didnt) i call and continue to call but always get the "manager isnt here at the moment" "we will call you back" we will give you a call when we hear about the slide" "i dont know whats going on with your slide" responses and honestly am tired of it. DO NOT COME HERE they obviously have better things to do - like look at bikini pics on the computer and clean their fingernails. What a embarrasing way to run your shop. read more

I am extremely disappointed in this place and their attitudes in general. First occurrence was when they said they had a certain glock and said they would hold it for me. I haul my tootsie over there and show up and go hey its me for the glock and they go ohhh sorry we sold it. I was like you didnt hold it for 45 minutes i said i was on the way and he just went "oh sorry dont know what to tell you". Second time I went to get a rifle fixed and they said will be done in 3 weeks ill give you a call. I call back 5 weeks later and they say "oh sorry were just about to get to it" not only didnt they not work on it they didn't even call me to tell me it was collecting dust. I needed that gun for a certain trip and i was banking on them getting it done within at least 5 weeks but DIDNT EVEN TOUCH IT. Not only are the repair prices double what i find around town it is taking twice as long. I came here to obtain y firearm safety certificate. This place is a sterotypical gun shop, with several roigh around the edges old timers sitting behind the counter being smart asses and cracking jokes, but they also have a wealth of gun knowledge and if you ask the right questions can learn alllot. I ended up taking a look at several handguns they had on display, and learned more than I thought I would about making a purchase, ultimately settling on one of like and making a purchase. Their ammo is overpriced compared to places like Turner's or Wal Mart, so I could avoid that, but if you'd like to interact with ppl who know allot about guns, don't shy away from this place, just be prepared for some wisecracks. read more

Let me start by saying I'm a long-time customer. I have done private party transfers (typically $55), so I called 2 months ago and spoke to John, who said he would call me back to schedule an appointment. With all guys who work here they only work on appointment only. John never called. So I just called again and asked for John, but got passed to Bruce, who seemed stressed about my private gun transfer. He wanted to make sure I knew about their "new" appointment fee to first meet and additional fee at delivery. I asked how much that was and he said the appointment fee will be approximately $200 !!!!!! Wow!!! Talk about price gouging and crapping right on a return customer!!! He referred me to Turners- which I hate, as is I was a child. Will NEVER return here to do any business with this place and would recommend you do the same. There are others. They've helped me out in the past, even when their prices have always been higher than normal for firearms. Tried to set up an appt for a private party transfer since they're apparently only open by appt now. Dealer said fee was $37 plus $10 for the shop, which is normal. He then followed up by stating they also charge a $100 fee for setting up an appointment. WHAT?!!! PASS. Looks like they've found a new way to try and gouge their potential customers. Great first time experience. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I brought in 2 firearms, 1 for repair, the other for sight replacement. I was expecting to have leave the firearms and come back a day or more later. But instead, they began working on both firearms right there and then. Came here several time for gun smithing--needed my AR upgraded. These guys are funny, kind, and professional and had my new rifle looking awesome! They have a small staff so there may be a lengthy wait depending on what you need and when you show up, but their business is well worth the wait. Very funny and knowledgeable guys. Gunrunners. The last thing these guys are doing is running. Diabetes is running this store. John and the other heavily obese smith are the poster boys for "couldn't give a shit about customers". I went there to sell a firearm and sat back and watched how they screwed over a young female customer because they couldn't find her paperwork. Then john scared her into having to lock up her firearm while taking it home in her car. As I waited more customers came in the store. I just kinda sat back and watched this all unfold. So the next Customer was there to pick up a firearm. John had to slowly crawl over to some boxes in the corner of the store. He actually dragged the guys purchased firearm over the dust covered top of the stores shelf as he popped it open and asked the guy, " this the gun?". Long story short yelp. This store is a joke. Overpriced. Customer service is miles away. Selling ammo for 4x the price. After I waited for an hour the fat gunsmith looked at my 12 gauge and said, "im gonna pass". I went to a pawn shop in Whittier and got a good deal. Bottom line, if ya wanna waste your time and deal with fat lazy diabetic riddled customer service. Pretty funny. Today 2/6/2015 at 4:45pm I walked in with a pocket full of cash. My intention was to get a price on a Nighthawk GRP 1911 pistol. Turners has one for sale running $3,100.00 but wanted to go to a better gun store for the purchase. Decided to go here to purchase it today. Walked in, took a look at what they had in their display cases. There were 4 staff members.... 5, 10min went by and not one of them said a word. No acknowledgement what so ever. With that being said..... I walked out. Looks like I will be taking my business somewhere else. I'll post a picture of my receipt when I purchase my $3000 + gun to validate my intention. We purchased a gun at the San Bernardino gun show, from Gunrunners two weeks ago and not only did we get a good deal, when we pick it up today, service was awesome, we got the gun plus a box ammo and some advice in reference to to the weapon. Staff was incredibly helpful in selecting a firearm that suited me (stag AR lower as opposed to ruger AR 15). Every member was very knowledgable about laws in CA and the process for procurement. Fuck this place! The owner is a con-man. $275.00 for a Anderson lower receiver (Ar-15). Rifle gear has the same lower for $70.00 and so does 2 other gun stores. The know it all gun smith in there said that they have to pay him 175.00 so that's why they raise the price! The. He said they don't raise prices that's the cost they get it for. What the fuck do you have to do with a brand new in package part???? Nothing!! Well, this is the second gun is being shipped by Bruce. Same debacle as last time. Called Bruce on Monday to ship the gun. No gun 5 days later, calling Bruce again.... yeap, we will ship gun today, he promised. Another 5 days goes by. Calling again, talking to another person who has no idea what and when was it shipped, wait for Bruce. Calling later and nobody answers. Then got an email from Bruce that gun was shipped yesterday and he provided tracking. Tracking shows the label was printed a week ago. And now two days later still no activity. I stay for about 5 minutes browsing the display cases hoping someone would approach me to ask if I had any questions or needed help. Poor customer service is on doc my pet peeves! I recently completed my first gun purchase at Gunrunners, and I am so glad I went there for this important confidence-building experience. I can see why a couple of people complained about the service. Some of the guys are a little gruff and rough around the edges. They're not super-skilled in the art of good customer service. Their expertise lies in the guns, which is where I would rather have them shine. I don't need them to fluff my hair and kiss my backside--I need expert advice. Which is what I got. I got their attention, got right to the point, told them what I was looking for and they showed me their selection. Once we got down to business, they were helpful and very respectful. They helped me choose from the two I was considering my doing timing checks and field-stripping both of them. I made my choice, we did the paperwork and I went away for 10 days. So today I go back to pick up my purchase, and learn that Gunrunners is woman-owned. That explains the lack of "there, there, little lady. I'll do your thinking for you" attitude when a female first-time purchaser walks through the door. I would highly recommend this gun shop for first time buyers and for women, especially. Gunrunners is located on the south side of Huntington Drive in a small strip mall, right next to a dance studio. You can miss it if you drive by to fast. Consider parking in the street unless you are picking up. Parking is very limited and the store is busy all the time. I'll be returning here to complete the rest of my shopping list. Customer service makes all the difference when you are looking into firearms, purchasing firearms, and purchasing more firearms. This place definitely had customer service dailed in for me. They were very courteous to me. Once they knew what I was interested in, they strove to help me get to where I needed to be. These guys were Johnny on the spot with ideas. When I came here I was looking for an AK and they had a line on some WASRs for cheap. I came pretty close to getting one through them as well. However I found a better deal for what I wanted in the long run with another vendor. Their shop is easy to get to located almost as close as you can get to the 605 where it T-bones the 210. They don't carry the largest selection of firearms on site; however they can get you just about anything quickly and easily. I would definitely call this joint a mom and pop type of shop. I like to support folks like this when I am able to. I just found something a little closer to what I wanted with another vendor. Overall though I rate these guys pretty highly compared to the chain stores and large independents, these folks are much nicer to deal with and take the service to a level you wont find with the others. read more

Place is a mess. The 2 employees there were not wearing masks, but a sign on the door said "masks required". When a friend and I came in, we were ignored while one employee was BS-ing with a customer. Another employee was busy wrapping up a package. We waited. And waited. And waited, while the BS-ing rambled on. No "hello, we'll be with you in a minute", not even eye contact. Another customer walked in after us, and the employee who was wrapping the package helped HIM first! After they did their business, the employee who had wrapped the package just started wandering off. I stopped him and asked for help, and he just nodded toward toward the other employee who was still jaw-jacking, and grudgingly said "see him". We took our business (which would have been very lucrative for them) elsewhere. You should too. read more

Several years ago when I wanted to expand on my limited gun knowledge and purchase a firearm for home protection I went to Gunrunners. I told them I was a total noob and needed to learn. The clerk who helped me that day took a great deal of time and gave me the pros and cons of shotgun, pistol and revolvers. I picked up info on the HSC and went back a couple of days later and took the exam. Again I asked many questions of a different clerk and heard the pros and cons again. What I appreciated was that nobody told me that "this is what you HAVE to buy." After visiting a few other stores like Big 5 & Turners (both have their place!) I returned to Gunrunners and made my first purchase. They stock most of the items you may want for target shooting. Cleaning supplies, storage cases, safes, targets are all in stock. Want a gun that is not in stock but on the CA-DOJ approved list? They will get it for you! If you need ammunition they probably have something in the caliber you want, but may not have exactly what you want. I was once directed, by the owner (I think) to buy an item at another store because they could not come close to competing on price. Another very strong pro is having a gunsmith on premises. I have been in this store many times over the years. At times you may have to ask for help. I have seen this occur when employees were talking while customers were waiting with questions. This is the only reason I do not give a 5 star rating. Parking is very limited in front. You can access the rear lot by turning into the driveway between the shop and the restaurant. read more

This place is sort of tucked away next to a flower shop and a pawn shop and kinda easy to miss if you're not keeping an eye on it. That said, this place is a great place to go to if you need to special order something or looking for real genuine help with your queries. They guys are here are a little gruff, but they seriously know their stuff and don't make you feel like an idiot for asking things. They don't sugarcoat their answers but they will go out of their way to make sure you understand what you're getting and why you're getting it. I've gone here now on three separate occasions simply to have them look over my guns to make sure they were working properly and for some advice on an ar15 build and each time they were very friendly and knowledgeable. The stock can vary wildly here depending on whether they're doing a show or just getting back from one, so definitely check their website when visiting as they tend to take a lot of their stock with them to shows. Usually though there is a big stock of various accessories and ammo, so you'll usually find what you're looking for, if not they'll gladly special order it for you. Also it is a small store so keep in mind it can get a bit crowded in there, particularly if there are a lot of folks doing PPT or pickups, but they will get to you eventually. Special props has to be given out to the armorer Bruce. This guy is a true gentleman. He answered all of my questions regarding my guns and even saved me from having to send my Colt Umarex .22LR to the factor to be repaired after working on the gun for almost 2 hours and didn't charge me for it! (If you've ever had to work on a Colt Umarex .22, you know how bloody fiddly the things can be) He truly is an awesome guy, and very knowledgeable about guns and parts. read more

The service here is fantastic and the people are friendly. I had a problem with an 03-A3 not firing properly, and one of their gunsmiths was able to figure out the problem and solved it free of charge. And I didn't even buy the gun there! This store also carries a lot of great curio and relic firearms, which is pretty great in a gun-thin California where gun models have been stuck in 1998 for the past 21 years. read more

A little rusty on good retail principles (i.e., make eye-contact and say hello to people coming in the store, especially if they're STANDING AT THE COUNTER FOR TEN MINUTES), but their prices are fair, they're really knowledgeable about makes and models of firearms, and they have an interesting supply of older and rarer guns that you don't find at a place like Turners Outdoorsman. Highly recommended if you're looking for AR-15 parts or hoping to find an interesting old handgun.
