I took my guard card and exposed fire arm classes, with these guys and as well as my refreshers and til this day I do my requals with them they're great instructors very helpful and very friendly. They will guide you through the paperwork as well as instructing you how to handle your weapon and dealing with certain situations while on duty and if you don't have the money to pay upfront, they do payments as well, so don't miss out. Great training courses to receive certificate for conceal carry, pepper spray, baton and firearms training.

Please please away run away from this place because of the Unprofessionalism. You're suppose to report on time at 6:15am and the instructors don't show up until 6:35am. My birth certificate was dropped accidentally in folder on their property in which I will be a victim of identity theft. I asked the instructor to rerun the cameras and was advised the owner won't do that for a birth certificate.Horrible service. Instructors had no regard or empathy just advised to get another one and making remarks like some ppl forgot to bring their birth certificates and it's okay guys. Too much profanity, not too enough information never provided any accurate material for the course I paid for a guard card . I was advised to take a firearm permit in-spite that wasn't the agreement, all of my concerns were redirected with a nonchalant attitude .They should have you sign a physical waiver agreement to comply with physical activities because nothing ever stated you be will participating in a security strong fake army reject academy. About. Damn. Time. That's how long it takes the Guard Training Center (GTC) to process a refund. Like any good business, they're keen to accept most conventional forms of electronic/online payment, but the kicker is getting a refund. First they were dopes to schedule a class over a holiday weekend, then bigger dopes to email me two days in advance that the class was cancelled (and told them to give me a refund then and there). Six emails, four phone calls and six weeks to process a refund? Fail. Might take the TASER course if they offer it again, but it'll be the last course I'll take at the GTC because I have every other certification/training they offer anyway. Oh, update...they don't do that "hogan's alley" electronic range nonsense anymore (well, not according to their promotional emails they send me on occasion). CA BSIS requires live-fire certification...so you gotta shoot a real gun, with real bullets. read more

Been to this place a few times for different reasons here are my experiences. First, went over to this place when it was still on Olympic to get a livescan. Being that I work with kids I've gone to a few places before and know the process. This place is fairly quick I was in and out in a few minutes. Service was good I was helped by a girl named Jade. My second time I took the CPR class again, its not the first time I do this so I know the drill. Certification is provided by Red Cross. Price, class time and instructor were fine I'll probably renew here when its time. Passed by the new office on Washington and looks like a way better location than before. Wasn't too fond of previous location due to alley and cramped parking but new location appears to be more roomy. The only downside was that it took a while to get my CPR as it comes directly from Red Cross I've had this problem with other businesses when I've taken the class so I know its not just this facility. Sad to see this place has negative reviews since I can't really complain. The boyfriend will be giving this place a shot soon for his guard card. I'm hoping this will be another good experience. I will write another review after he finishes the class. read more

Alert!!!! Do not trust this company to process your Livescan. I waited 6 weeks to obtain a guard card only to learn this company did not properly scan my fingerprints and this was the hold up with BSIS. During the 6 weeks I contacted them many times to only hear "everything is OK", which was a lie. Of course they are taking NO responsibility for messing up and I didn't even receive an apology. Very unprofessional organization and will never recommend them to anyone. read more

Taking the full academy course with them was great. I did it based on my dads recommendation, who went there and is now a sergeant for RMI, and they definitely take the time to explain everything and make sure you know what you're doing. I love that they're also always posting job leads and helping you set up interviews on the spot if necessary. They're also very attentive to answering emails or messages about questions. I can only speak for the computer course they now have. Do NOT waste your time or money on this business. The instructor does not teach. Students are told to memorize the answers to test questions, get certified, get the job, and then learn on the job. While part of that idea is good, it's also very deceiving to prospective employers. This is also not a course for someone who has any working knowledge of computers. read more

Rafael is a wonderful instruction. Got hands on training that in critical areas that will be very useful on the job. Great thing is that there is good support for help in finding you a job. Also help filling out the government forms is great because it would have taken me a long time to figure it out. If you want to get a guard card quickly and land a job quickly in security, I highly recommend this place. I was able to pass the test on first try with the training I received. I am a Recruiter for a Special Events Company for the last 3 years, EES, but I have known about Guard Training Center for almost 8 years!! I tell everyone this, if you want great training, PLUS a job after training, go here!! Not only are the trainers excellent, but they really try to get you a job after, so you can use that training and get paid! They always have recruiters in their offices, sometimes more than one at a time!! I have tried to go into other training facilities, but always get roadblocks and told it inconveniences them or they don't have the space or resources for recruiting. That just shows other training centers are all about getting your money, and not getting YOU money. I live in Thousand Oaks and did not mind to drive almost one hour for my firearm re qualification and for my taser certification in different occasions with this Guard training school. The instructors not only have the experience in the security business and law enforcement but also care and take the time to clarify any questions we have as students. Didnt know where to go and as I checked yelp I saw guardtraining center. It seemed promising with their high percentage of job employment placement. I tryed it out and am very happy with the results. It was very quick and less costly than lots of other tech schools I seen. Course,livescan, and registration wity rhe state on the same day. They also were able to help me fix up my resume and im impressed by the difference. Im waiting for a couple more courses to start applying, but with all the help Ive gotten and their ability to send out your resume with their partners Im not worried about finding a job in security. This school is excellent. You receive in-class and hands-on training and get your certifications right away with the exception of B.S.I.S. giving you a guard license with firearms when they can... The staff and the instructors are great at what they do and they help you succeed by bringing in recruiters from major security companies and helping you get "a foot in the door". Their career center is fully furnished to help you out with your resume and your job hunting. I learned a lot every day about the legal aspects of being a security officer and enjoyed coming here. From the web site that stated they offer firearms training in 9mm, 40mm (this is a grenade launcher), and 45mm (this is an anti-tank gun, usually towed behind a vehicle), to their 'docuements' available in the lobby area, I was not impressed with this school. I discussed the very real difference in knock-down power of a .45ACP over a 9mm, and received the 'deer in the headlights' look from the person I was talking to. A school that can't be bothered to spell check their DOCUMENTS before printing, and can't discuss basic comparative firearms knowledge will not be receiving my money. read more
