I'm glad for this as that is how I signed up for a free 2-hour introductory class to coding. The class covered HTML and CSS and was designed to just a quick intro to see if you would be interested in taking a full class. Still I was surprised how much I learned in just a free intro course. Our instructor Allie covered a ton of theory so we understood the big picture and how the different developer languages (HTML, CSS and Javascript) played different roles. Much of the class was her guiding us through actually creating a mock webpage by immediately applying the coding principles and info she taught. I highly recommend bringing your computer for the hands-on portion. Also, Allie listed additional resources for us to explore on our own time, and we were promised the slide deck after. Being totally new to coding, I was able to take what I learned from the intro class and actually fix an issue THE NEXT DAY on the website that I manage for work! I rely on website templates but don't understand the HTML and CSS behind it so I was able to override the template that doesn't even allow me to change font attributes on hyperlinked text. Once you sign up for a class they send you promo emails with discounts, so I will probably look into taking a more full class. TIP: this is located right in the heart of Little Tokyo so there is plenty of sushi, ramen and snack options available before or after going to class here.

If you're one who can't stick to learning on your own online, face-to-face instruction is the way to go. 2. I also like that they offer a wide variety of topics from web development and digital marketing to project management, sales pitching, and communication skills. 3. The instructors I've had so far have been knowledgeable and nice. 4. They have many free talks in the evenings, sometimes even with free nibbles. I attended one on the art of sales pitching. I think it was called something like "How to Sell Anything to Anyone." The speaker was excellent, and he gave really good tips. 5. The DTLA location has convenient parking ($5 evenings and wknds) at Joe's Garage a few doors down. I also like that you can enjoy the many Little Tokyo restaurants before or after class :) Cons: 1. Cost. If you want to take their multi-day courses, expect to pay $$$. That's what you gotta expect for in-person classes from a private school. I'd love to take more classes, but I can't be spending more thousands of dollars. Yes, they have a payment plan, but you still gotta pay them back. 2. If you're looking to start a new career, don't expect to be "career ready" after you've spent all that money. The classes don't go into much depth. They're more of an overview, just enough to get you started. Then comes the hard part - studying on your own by following all the blogs and video content out there. THAT takes discipline, and nobody can help you there. I wish knowledge could just be implanted in my brain without my having to exert effort. Just being honest. 3. They never answer the phone. The only way to get a response is via email. If you're on your way to an evening or weekend class and need to reach someone, you won't get a response if it's outside normal business hours. Conclusion: If you're disciplined and highly motivated, save your money and take advantage of the overwhelming number of free resources online. But if you're a lazy a-hole like me and you're willing to spend some serious money, take a GA course to at least get you started and pointed in the right direction.

I would not recommend this class because the instructor was horrible. Me and 2 other students did…read morenot pass the exam. But before we took the exam, me and those two other students were talking about how we weren't confident about taking the exam because of the instructor and her horrible confusing teaching. The instructor, which I'm guessing is the business owner, was 10 minutes late to the class and then she started the class an hour late and only checking in like six students. There were barely any students there. So an hour of teaching time was wasted because she was lollygagging. As the instructor sat down to start teaching the class, she kept stopping to text message somebody and I don't know if it was her boyfriend, but she had a huge smile on her face, Every time she was texting somebody. She did not answer questions that I had for her. She kept saying that those questions weren't necessary to answer because they weren't on the test. I paid almost $400 to take that class. I would much appreciate if you answer the questions that I have, regardless, if it's on the test or not. And then, when I finally passed the exam after having to take it a second time and after having to purchase an online Notary course by EZ Notary. I spoke to the owner on the phone and asked how can I get the rest of my supplies which is a journal, my bond and my seal. She said I would have to pay for the shipping since I don't live around there and I'm not willing to go get it in person to pick up the supplies. Her team or her emailed me the invoice for the shipment, it was $31, just to ship my bond and then I would have to pay for a second shipment for the rest of my supplies. Talk about ripping students off. Another thing is you have to pay for parking. when I called before I placed the order I asked her assistant or her front desk person do I have to pay for parking, he said no that we can get it validated for you. But nobody wanted to validate the ticket unless you bought something in that building. The parking was $20. Do not pay to take the in person class and do not pay for any other Notary course from her. She is a horrible instructor. I would not waste your time or your money. There is a much better chance passing the exam through someone else online course. Good luck!

My current roommates have zero social awareness and respect for others. I came here to learn but won't even be able to do that for a bit. Instead, I'm stuck with a bunch of immature low life degenerates who couldn't care less. I'm not trying to spend my time when I could be learning; correcting teenagers and drug addicts For how strict they are on everything else they are too lenient during nontraining hours. Can't even properly use the bathroom because all the stalls are missing toilet paper or don't properly close. Can't even use one of the public bathrooms because they locked it up because students were doing drugs and making love. There's a lack of authority and respect between students and staff. Staff don't get paid enough and for them, they rather be friends 1st and staff 2nd because it's easier on them. Both public schools and job corps are government funded, yet it sure doesn't seem that. Job corps living situation is horrid, and their food service is pathetic. You can get better food at your local public school from quality to quantity they beat job corps in every category. There are committees where you can express your feelings about this place but nothing is ever done. They don't separate the age groups or progress so you could be in a room/class with various ages from 16-24. The whole CPP system is the most useless program ever it's as effective as D.A.R.E. They try to pamper you your first week with lots of fun activities outside of job corps, but that's all just a facade. The list just is Never ending. This place does have good things about it but in its current state, the bad will always outshine them unless they make some actual beneficial changes. Fast forward to a few years later Los Angeles Job Corps staff and TEACHERS especially gave me that opportunity and sense of hope again. Thank you to all Ms. Gonzalez, Mr. Batstone, Ms. Chahal, Ms. Alexis, and all the other staff on campus who made sure we were secured and focused on the right things and our goals in life. It paid off, and now in 2021, I utilize those skills in the workforce that you guys instilled in us. I will never have a bad review on Job Corps. The years 2016-2018 were the best years of my life. This LAC program is a RARE find and I've highly recommended this program to many people. Please do not get discouraged about applying to this school, we may lack some amenities, but I wanted to set the record straight because false information is not information. 1. We have a student counselor. They are introduced to you at NEW Student Orientation 2. If you need ADA accommodations, please see the office of education for additional information. 3. We have multiple computer rooms and study rooms for students to sign up for. If you need help looking for one, please visit the library or ask the front office for assistance. 4. There are 2 metro lines- 78 and 605. Infront and across the street from the school 5. In terms of safety- this is a CLOSED campus with badge access. Students can park at a free and guarded parking lot structure across the street from campus with badge access. 6. The real world average nurse-to-patient ratio is generally recommended to be one nurse for every four patients but can depend on departments; school is weaning you into real world practice. 7. You can log the documents that you turn in at the front office in a log, if that gives you peace of mind about what youv'e turned in. Please note if office is requesting the same documents various times throughout the year, other internal department within LA county are asking for it so they can provide students with clearance to attend to patients. 8. Lost and found is in front office. 9. This is a full-time course and can be tough; you can do difficult things. Believe in yourself. 10. For anything you sign we retain it in the student or class file- feel free to ask for a copy or come into the office to see it. As an Angelino, I'm hopeful for the future students coming out of this program. I know that with OPEN communication we can improve this program for current and future students. When we look back at the places we've been, I want us all be able to say we left it a little better.
