My experience at Angeles College took a complete 180 turn when I switched my mind set towards things and that only was possible from all the connections and building rapport with the patients at clinical. Throughout nursing school, I struggled a lot with life situations etc happening but throughout true genuine non AI-generated but human to human interactions with all the lovely patients , I was able to get through it all, like I tell everyone I was not treating the patients it was a true "the patients were treating me" moment . I think through hitting that rock bottom I was truly able to see my love for health care and the I don't care what others say, all the staff and I mean even the ones that I struggled with , helped me with my growth so I want to thank everyone single staff there. Angeles College's enrollment has collapsed by more than 50 percent over the past five years, and somehow that is still only half the problem. The place feels like a dying Blockbuster video store desperately trying to cosplay as an Apple Store. Sleek branding on the outside, total dysfunction behind the counter. Calling their staff inadequate would be generous. Their financial aid advisor, Jaime Martinez Reyes, struggles with basic communication to such a degree that it raises a serious question as to why he is tasked with helping students secure funding. Simple questions seem to confuse or irritate him, and any attempt at clarification is met with visible agitation. If this is guidance, it explains the enrollment numbers. The Vocational Nursing Program Director, Marcelo Tanjusay, is an entirely different spectacle. He displays less tact, professionalism, and basic decency than a street brawler. Permanently angry, visibly frustrated, and seated at a bare desk in a cramped room with four other people, he radiates resentment. His temper is the most consistent thing Angeles College offers. Rage is the main attraction. For months, the college has claimed it is relocating from its Wilshire Boulevard Koreatown location to Glendale. Conversations with staff tell a different story. The building is decaying, and it appears they are entangled in problems with the landlord. The Glendale narrative feels less like expansion and more like public relations damage control, an attempt to mask instability with optimism. There also appears to be a troubling relationship with a clinic called WellnessMart, where prospective students are sent and pressured to spend over $1,000 on vaccines. Not standard vaccinations. Not routine requirements. Obscure shots most people have never heard of. Whether this arrangement involves financial incentives or not, it raises serious ethical questions that deserve scrutiny. If you are evaluating colleges, do yourself a favor and cross Angeles College off your list. Unless, of course, you are looking to spend a year or two trapped in administrative chaos, hostility, and institutional decay masquerading as education. read more

If you're considering this school, I recommend looking closely at their reported NCLEX pass rate. When I met with a college counselor, I was told that to officially graduate, students must pass an internal proctored NCLEX-style exam on the first attempt. If you fail and pass only on the second try, you don't receive a certificate of completion. I have just completed the LVN program here at Angeles College. It is an accelerated one year program, and they have an amazing staff who truly cares and supports you. Starting with admissions- Claudia and Eva- they have always been so supportive from Day 1 and are great at what they do. Financial aid counselor, Kathy, who guided me throughout the whole process with my student loans. VN Program Director, Mr. Bernard, who is also a great instructor; he always makes time to listen to our concerns and resolves any doubts we may have. Ms. Myra, who helped me with the Licensing and State Board Exam Application. My awesome instructors- Ms. Cynthia, Mr. Marcelo, and Ms. Alodia- I learned so much from them, especially during our clinical rotations; they always make time for us whenever we needed help and always make sure we fully understand their lectures. I have been attending this school for a few months now and I can honestly say this is the worse nursing school to go to!! I have spoken to some of the students and they all say the exact same thing "we are not appreciated, we are not understood, we are basically treated like trash!" I'm sorry for a school that is charging almost $32,000 I would expect there to be a graduation, not just a paper given and there you go. Where in the hell is my money going?!?!! The dean of the school has an absurd amount of self entitlement. He(Sasha) believes students are allowed to be spoken to like little children or should I say more like trash. You have no right to speak to students in an ill-mannered way. This school doesn't even have the common decency to update students or give them proper teachings. For example, not having anything ready when it comes to sending students out to clinical sites. They would say that they are too busy to do anything. That its a student's responsibility to figure out the paperwork and modules needed in order to attend the clinical sites. In what way should that ever be a student's job? The dean consistently rearranges and changes the syllabus that they praise as a document of law. It can't even be followed by the own school itself. I am astounded at the fact that the school cannot provide any essentials for their students such as toilet paper, pens or paper if needed! Pretty much throughout my school year, 2-3 of our teachers quit, and the DON quit before the school year even ended. It was very difficult to reach out to anyone with any of our concerns. There was no communication and you can just tell. Was not fair for the students. No clinical sites .... even asked our class to help with finding a clinical site. Ridiculous. For months we were doing our skills virtually ... had me inserting a "catheter" on my stuffed toy. Btw they didn't even provide the materials, so my "catheter" was actually my iPhone charger. The first thing I remember is feeling accepted, encouraged to the challenge and of course the first few months was a challenge itself but any nursing student would say that. During my time at ángeles college, I've met great people, made life long friends and have had the opportunity to learn from great teachers like Mrs. Erickzen, Mrs. Mia, Mrs. Roleen, Ms. Gg, and Mr. T. All whom have extensive backgrounds and experience in several fields and always have time to explain and even share stories to help you get an idea of what we're headed into. Thank you to the awesome staff that ALWAYS had kind words and time for me and my boat load of questions, all students would agree that without Myra, Claudia, Eve, Na'Desha, Evelyn, and Kathy this school would definitely wouldn't be the same. Words can't explain the gratitude I have towards your staff and teachers! I didn't think I could have made it to this point with out them. COVID caused a lot of change in my life, from being a in person student to online courses and Loosing so many family members along the way. I felt like giving up but I'm glad I didn't and all staff of angeles college helped along with my classmates. Nursing school was definitely hard, coming from someone who had no idea what I was getting into. All I can say to new students is take the time to understand, patience and communication is key. It was definitely hard but I'm all the more appreciative of my new title. It wasnt the greatest experience I could of had during my time but I went during 2020 which was the covid pandemic so it was a little messy, understandable of course. The instructor I had at the time was actually very knowledgeable and a great nurse, however, I don't know if she still works there but I could be wrong. They did what they could to provide us with a clinical experience during difficult times which is appreciated. After I had completed the course, the staff are still very helpful in seeing you succeed. Myra helped me out a lot in answering all my question needs. The start of the program is all great as long as they get your money because if they don't they become a collection agency with nonstop harassing calls and emails and threatening to drop you from the program. The rest of the staff that call themselves teachers enjoy screaming and being rude towards students and treating them like garbage but if you dare to complain you are immediately reprimanded and shammed upon. I have completed the LVN program here at Angeles College. I was able to pass my NCLEX on the first try, and get my license right away after the result. Also, I can get a job after 3 weeks of the test. The school helps me to get a job really quickly. I am currently attending Angeles College, about half way into my MA Course and I love it! The Instructor I started with was great and I was sad to see her move on to a different opportunity but my new instructor is amazing as well. You can tell they make wise decisions as far as staffing. Everyone from the front office to my instructor are all very kind and really helpful and has been great from the first day of my enrollment. I don't ever really do reviews but I feel this school and my class/instructor deserves an honest review. My instructor has a great way of patiently teaching us in individual ways that will allow us all to understand and Excel in every area we all may have not been comfortable in. I completed the accelerated LVN program here in June of 2022, and to say the least, it was a difficult school experience from the management side of this private school organization. Did I learn a lot.. yes. Did I pass the NCLEX first try... yes, but the organization from the dean, office, and a few instructors made it very difficult to keep up. There is little to no communication among head departments which left instructors and students confused on several occasions. It was a stressful situation for instructors and students during the program who wanted to do things properly. E-mails going unanswered, Different instructions from different faculty, Deadlines that are received hours before, etc. Nonetheless, if you can look over the garbage fire of management that goes on here, then I recommend the school. This school has great and knowledgeable instructors that care about your learning and hands-on experience. They can answer any and all questions you may have and pass down their wisdom so you can better yourself for when the time comes to be on your own. The school does provide you with the materials to learn and pass the NCLEX and the instructors with proper guidance to help you understand what to expect on the job. Private schools are known for being for-profit.. but I believe that this school is slowly and steadily making the experience better for future students even though for-profit schools get a bad rep for not caring about you. Starting with the administration ending it with the teachers. Teachers barely teach anything and you have to learn everything by yourself. There is no quality in this school.
