I want to first start off and say I wanted to become a LVN for a very long time now. I finally begin my search for schools about a year before I had started school. The schools that I visited though out that year was some pretty name brand schools but they really did not make you feel very welcoming. I was actually told by one of my colleague at work about this school. I was very hesitant about calling since I was not aware of the school, but when I called and talked with one of the staff members she was very friendly and provided me with a lot of information. When I first walked into CES college, I felt this warm feeling inside, literally like I was at home. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I immediately went home and told my husband that I found the school that I wanted to go to. CES college will provide you with everything that you will need in order to succeed in the nursing world and more. All the staff want you to succeed and they help you at achieving that goal. Mr K the nursing instructor is very informative and he pushes you to reach that goal. He does not let you quit or say that you cannot do this. When you are done with your school you will have the knowledge to go out and pass your NCLEX that is how much this school prepares you. From the first day of school to the last day of school you will know what you need to know. I too passed my NCLEX on the first try, and it is the thanks to Mr K for always believing in his students, and telling us that with hard work it pays off. And he was right. I'm writing this review on behalf of my sister who has been struggling since day 1 started LVN program. This school is all about going under debt and self studying. 0 teaching skills, all they do is reading over their own notes not even the book, so you have to find a way and teach yourself. They don't understand that not everyone has science background, and teach a way to be understandable for everyone, if they teach though. I attended CES College from Sept. 2018 to Dec 2019 for the LVN program. I'll start out by saying it was not easy. During my time at CES, they were making changes to policies and trying to see what would work best to make the school run smoother. It definitely made it a bit harder for some of us. We were used to a certain routine. But in life, we are going to run into those obstacles everyday. Especially in nursing! So I just went along with whatever was happening, vented and moved on. All I can say is you can't expect the instructors to teach you EVERYTHING! You have to go home and study. You have to put effort in. At clinicals, it's what you make it. Put yourself out there. They don't expect you to know everything. But you won't learn unless you put the effort! Nursing school is what you make it. It wasn't easy.. but I did it. Single mom. Obstacles. Working full time. Couldn't have done it without the support of my instructors pushing me! Telling me I'd be an amazing nurse. Also...With the support of my amazing classmates who I can call my friends today... Just completed the lvn program in October and overall had a great experience. Mr.K is great and definitely helps in making the material more lively. Ms. Holden is AMAZING!! She is great at explaining everything to make sure you understand. She is so knowledgeable and just great. Ms. Mariya is the BEST clinical teacher! She has the knowledge and compassion for this career! She cares about the well being of each of her students and truly wants each one of them to succeed. She made me love nursing so much more. Ms. Adele is also great! She cares about her patients and is so helpful in pharmacology. I passed my NCLEX on my first try so their program works. I also liked that the school worked with you in making payments towards your tuition and were there to help you apply for fafsa and student loans. Like other reviews, I do agree somethings need to be worked on. I believe the school should be more organized in letting the students know when things need to be done like immunizations and fingerprinting. Most of the students are working full time while going to school, so not everyone can do these requests with days notice. No one ever said Nursing school would be easy. while attending we are taught you must be flexible because that's what nursing us all about. I went through tough time while in school with almost loosing my mom but the instructors and other staff were always there to be supportive and push me to not give up. The clinical instructors always tried to get you to see the most educational yet awesome procedures that were being done. I personally got to watch two surgery's and many of my other classmates got the same and more. Because of Ces I was able to get my first job right after graduating because my class and Instructors had a great reputation in the Hospitals. We started massage/physical therapy Aid classes and learned how to communicate with clients, healing the problems and leave the client with a smile on their face. I want to start off by saying that nobody can succeed at anything without the proper work ethic and determination; nothing is accomplished without suffering. CES college is a wonderful establishment and tool to reaching your goal as a licensed nurse. They are a legit school which provide countless hours of knowledge and hands on experience to prepare you for your future as a nurse. The staff is wonderful; everyone is there to help you, without any tricks or gimmicks. Mr. K is a very stern man, he will push you to your limits during lectures, clinical settings, and you will dedicate your life to what he says for the next year and 4 months. That being said, he does it for you. He does it so you can be the best nurse that you can be. After you finish school and become a nurse you will appreciate his style of teaching. It was no walk in the park, I worked very hard and earned mostly As. I did barely any studying after I graduated because I felt like I already knew everything. CES is a great college one of the best I have been to. They have low rates for massage school lower than any others in California from what I researched. Its very worth it to get in the Massage Program. I'm at my last module for the program and I would recommend anyone to do it. The ladies on the staff are amazing and helpful. Robert is my instructor. He is one of the best instructors I have ever had very very smart very helpful and funny too. I hear the nursing program is great too and if you miss a class they give you the opportunity to make up your hours so you can finish on time which most places do not do. I attended CES college for my LVN license. I was only on the third class offered at the school and while I was in the program a lot of changes were being made. My review is going to be a combination of my personal experience and response to the previous review posted by an lvn student who was obviously displeased by the program. First off I passed my exit exam on the first try, however there were a handful of my classmates who did not. They were all able to retake the exam. They were not allowed to take nclex until they passed but all schools have to do something to make their passing rate stay consistent enough to maintain their accreditation. I am now moving forward with my education and the school I am attending has much harsher passing requirements than CES had. As do all nursing schools. That's part of becoming a nurse. Now for the comments made about the male director. I don't even understand where the comments about libido are coming from. The director was my instructor when I started and he is nothing short of a good man who is passionate about nursing and his school. He took over as director in the middle of my program and I got to see the improvements he was making. I was a little jealous that future classes were going to get to have those things incorporated into their education and I was not. The comments made about him angered me. The schedule changes were sometimes last minute but there was enough time to change schedules around. There was flexibility between clinical groups and days and time. And it was not hard to make up time if for whatever reason you could not attend a day. Also I would like to point out....welcoming to nursing. If you think you are going to have a set schedule planned out for you months in advance you have chosen the wrong career. I cannot name one nursing school (and I've looked at a lot because I'm starting on my bsn) that offers a set schedule The instructors cared. I actually still keep in touch with some of them. One of them even edited my resume for me months after graduation to help me out. They were willing to teach if you were willing to learn. You're a grown up. If you wanna try to get around doing what you have to do you definitely can. This is your education, not theirs. Take responsibility for yourself. Work hard, study hard, ask questions. You will not be dismissed. If they cannot answer you they will find an answer. If they answer you incorrectly they will correct themselves. I had no issue with the staff. Honestly my only major complaint was after graduation I felt like I needed more help for passing nclex and basically did it on my own. But since then they have asked myself and fellow students what they could do to improve the program and we almost all said that. Now the college is offering an ATI review which I think is very helpful and necessary. I passed nclex on my first try and I am working full time now earning a decent living as I continue my education. So I guess I really can't complain. CES will always hold a special place in my heart and I don't regret going there. read more

Worst college ever. Their graduates do not know anything. They do not teach anything, and the instructors are not very knowledgeable. I would not want any of their graduates to ever work for me. Have had 2 students for externship, & they both needed @ least 6 months of training to learn how to use a two hole puncher, or a fax machine. Yayk! read more

I attended this school a few years ago for my lvn. I really benefited from the smaller class size. I have to give CES so much credit for the time they dedicated to us and how they prepared us for our license exam. All the of the staff was polite and friendly. My instructor (Mr.k) was fantastic was really gave us his all I learned so much and still til this day he sends us great info and knowledge to continue learning throughout our nursing career. The schools help doesn't stop when you graduate. I know I'll always be able to come to him or any of the staff with questions or if I need advice I highly recommend this school. I'm currently taking the Office administration course and i don't regret enrolling. The learning is hands on and very helpful in preparing to work in an office environment. Lauren is a great teacher that throughly explains everything and answers any question you have and is great at teaching the material too. The staff on campus are all very nice and welcoming when you walk in and are all there to help with anything. The course is 9 months long and its gone by fast and i now know a lot more about office programs than i did before starting the course all thanks to CES Office Administration course. read more

First of all I want to say that nursing school is far from a walk in a park type of thing. It was hard, and I wanted to give up most of the time. Not the brightest in class but I studied hard and never gave up. A lot of sleepless nights and questioning whether it's the profession I want to be in. Doubted my capabilities most of the time, but I'm just so BLESSED to have MR. K as my professor, it's an honor to have met a teacher like no other, he is passionate beyond words. KNOWLEDGEABLE STRICT, FIRM BUT FAIR. Someone once told me you just need one person to believe in you , and mr. k was and is that person who believed me after several failed exams, he saw my potential and never gave up on me. I am now a licensed nurse , graduated may 2017 , took my nclex july 2017 and passed! My RN school better have a mr. K, but no one will ever measure up to him, HE IS THE BEST! I chose to attend this program in hopes of getting a quality education and obtaining my nursing license quickly to get started working. This is said to be a 15 month program I graduated almost two months ago and still have not been able to schedule to test for my license. There were numerous times in this program that I had to advocate for myself and push for more advanced clinical sites that actually put our nursing skills to use. The teaching received was not up to par, most of the program I self taught because lectures were not clear enough to walk out of the classroom and feel confident in what I just learned. If you're not strong in math the instructor will make you feel like an idiot and half explain everything. Half way through the program we switched teachers and that is when I really started learning. Thankful for Miss Holden. There were also numerous times in this program that things were asked for last minute, last minute vaccinations, background checks due within no more than a couple days. These things cost money! Some of us cannot come up with 70+ dollars in a matter of a day, we have bills and families. There were numerous times in this program that we spent doing nothing and just sitting there to clock in hours. The lab is not up to date and you cannot honestly learn anything in that lab. Be prepared to buy extra equipment for yourself. I had one clinical instructor that was absolutely amazing, one of the best instructors I've had and the other instructor was always eager to leave, left students at the clinical site unattended, and picked favorite students that offset the tone for the class. Documents were also lost in this program that I had to figure out how to get back. If you are eligible for the loan for this program they will give you a certain amount of extra money back and then ask for $100 back once they have already given you the money! To top it off you will have to pay for your own graduation. There were also numerous times in the program that violated (not in my favor) the contract I signed when I decided to attend the school. The school promises they will pay for your "NCLEX" if you get a high enough score but they do not actually pay for it they pay only for the application fee, false advertisement. I'm going to end this review nicely by saying save your money, for a little bit more you can attend American Career College with better equipment and clinical sites, and a far more organized program or even attend an accelerated RN program for the 15+ months you wait for your license. read more

I'm an LVN graduate class of 2013. Prior to enrolling into the program I researched multiple schools through the Board of Vocational Nursing school list calling one by one. CES has the best program rate and was one of the few schools who had night and weekend classes. The school is located in a tiny shopping center off of Glenoaks but don't let looks fool you, I could not have been more happy choosing this school to complete my LVN program. The staff are like family and they honestly will do everything they can to help you succeed. Mr. K is a teddy bear with a background in the military and as an ER nurse. His overall knowledge is very extensive, he made lectures interesting. Considering most programs are a minimum of 12 months for VN, having an instructor that knows how to maintain your interest in such a difficult subject is priceless. The clinical instructors: Ms. Sondra and Ms. Cheryl, absolute dolls who will work with you to make sure you understand your clinical assignments. Now that I think of it, I don't ever recall seeing them upset. They've always taught with such patience maintaining their professionalism, as a student I never felt fearful to ask questions. Last but not least, the school director is a Gem. I've been out of school for over 8 months and she still manages to message me and show her continuous support always asking about my well being and offering me a place to study at the school if needed. Its nice to know the staff will continue to care about you beyond your graduation and that you've made life long friendships. read more

I'm glad I made the choice to come to Ces College. The teachers are amazing. Mr K has so much knowledge and really makes class not only educational but entertaining. Ms Holden is amazing also. She has so much experience and will take the time to answer any questions and break it down to make it easy to understand without judgment. The clinical instructors are also top notch. Ms Mariya is the most incredible nurse and clinical instructor. She made me fall in love with nursing. Ms Adel and Ms Amanda are also wonderful. My experience has been postitive. I along with most of my classmates not only passed the nclex on the first try but with only 85 questions. This school really does prepare you to take the nclex. If you do as they ask your most likely to pass. After passing the nclex the administration has kept in touch, referring me to different job opportunities which I truly appreciate.
