This school is all about going under debt and self studying. 0 teaching skills, all they do is reading over their own notes not even the book, so you have to find a way and teach yourself. They don't understand that not everyone has science background, and teach a way to be understandable for everyone, if they teach though. Overall not worth to attend this school unless you ready to be your own instructor and rely on your book & youtube videos to learn something.

Ironically, what finally pushed me to take the leap was watching a coworker graduate from West Coast University. Did she vent about the program being stressful? Absolutely. Did she ever have a bad thing to say about the professors or staff? Not once. That spoke volumes. Nursing school isn't supposed to be easy. Caring for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives isn't easy, so why should the preparation be? Hearing about the challenges didn't discourage me, it reassured me that the program was doing exactly what it was meant to do. So, after attending an information session for the second time in two years, I finally decided to stop flirting with the idea of nursing school and commit. What stood out to me immediately was the transparency! From day one, everything was laid out clearly: what was required for admission, what resources were available, and what steps needed to be taken to succeed. There were no surprises, no sugarcoating, just straightforward guidance and support. Then began the adventure of getting all my "stuff" together. I would be remiss if I didn't give a special shout-out to David Gallardo, who is low-key one of the biggest reasons my application was completed at all. During the application process, I was navigating some personal challenges while helping care for my mother. Throughout it all, David remained patient, encouraging, and consistently supportive. More importantly, he always started our conversations by asking how I was doing, not just where I was in the application process. That may seem like a small thing, but it meant a lot. His kindness and reassurance gave me confidence when mine was running low. If first impressions truly matter, David was the perfect first impression of West Coast University. Now, as I prepare to begin this journey, I won't pretend I'm not nervous. I have moments where I wonder whether I have what it takes. But I also know that West Coast University has already shown me that support, resources, and dedicated advisors are available every step of the way. At that point, the responsibility shifts to me to use those resources and keep moving forward. So here I am, equal parts anxious and determined, looking forward to the long study sessions, sleepless nights, and study-group marathons. Two years from now, I plan to walk across that stage knowing that earning my degree wasn't easy, but it was worth it. And when that day comes, I'll happily become an unofficial ambassador for West Coast University, completely pro bono lol. If I can help encourage even one person who has been sitting on the fence the way I did for 6-7 years, wondering whether they're capable or whether the timing is ever going to be right, then I'll gladly share my experience. It is all fairly warned and the staff all do their best to ensure you are well supported. This review is going out to anyone who is curious about what happens after you pass both Exit Exam and NXLEX and the support given by the career advisor. During the last term I was paired with Alla Kostanyan, right away she reached out to make an effort to meet me and get to know what my goals were post WCU. She also kept it real and helped me see the many routes a new grad nurse can possibly take. Right away she began to make sure my resume looked good and was ready. I received several emails with all sorts of job openings ahead of time so that I may plan to apply accordingly. In my case particularly, before starting west coast I decided to apply at my local hospital as a patient safety aide, just to see if this is a place I would like to work at after graduation. Well, I loved it there and that gave me a shoe in as I navigated a job there during my time in school. I also stayed proactive and during my first term at WCU I signed up to volunteer at Cedars Sinai (another place I wanted to potentially work at). So you see in my case I did myself a favor beforehand. Which worked out greatly since I was able to build good rapport with both locations for the almost 3 years of school. I put in my work to achieve getting hired at my local hospital and I was able to receive a job offer. Overall , Alla made sure that I place my eggs in several baskets and made the application process easy. It's tough out there as a new grad and it can feel discouraging at times but don't give up because unlike me there are so many successful students whom don't think of a job until after graduation and eventually get hired do to the collective effort one's career advisor provides and the work the student puts in.

What makes Ms. Maritza stand out is how dedicated she is to her students. She is knowledgeable, patient, supportive, and always willing to explain something again or help when a student is struggling. She doesn't just teach you what you need to know for an exam--she prepares you to become a competent and confident Surgical Technologist in the real world. Throughout the program, she pushed us to improve while still making us feel supported. You can tell that she takes pride in seeing her students succeed, and that made a huge difference in my experience. Her teaching and guidance played an important role in preparing me for my CST exam and for my future career in the operating room. During this time o was also in nursing school and knew I wanted to be an injector. After graduating I took the basics course with Laura , she was such a good instructor. She went over facial anatomy , safety, different fillers , Botox and technique with me then we did hands on training . During this training she was very detailed and I didn't feel rushed nor did she make me feel scared to ask questions which I loved. After watching her inject a few clients you get the opportunity to inject on your own model , I was very nervous but she walked be through every step. We all know getting hired as a new injector is very challenging and makes you feel like you'll never get in anywhere , but 2 months after my course with Laura she hired me as a laser nurse at FMU then shortly after trained me more and more and now I'm an injector ! Don't give up ! It took me a year after graduating and working at diff Med spas to be where I'm at now, just make sure to get trained and certified by someone who knows what they're doing and is good at it ! Life got in the way a couple of times during this portion of the class and I was able to talk to Mika and figure out a plan so that I wouldn't have to miss class. I also loved listening to her real life stories of working in nursing. The course I took was 5 weeks, 8 hours a day. The first two weeks were online. There is a lot of reading, a lot of quizzes, and several tests, but you get the hang of it quickly. The second week was practical where you learned the skills. I got pretty frustrated when I didn't get the skill right the first time, but the fact is that there are a lot of steps to the skills and these are brand new things that I'm learning. It all falls into place when you go into the clinical. You get to apply what you learned in class and in your practical learning. I especially loved my clinical rotations at the hospital. It gave me such a bigger perspective on the healthcare industry and patient care. I learned so much and discovered that I really liked working in ER. I look forward to applying everything I learned in my future career.

i've had such a great experience at amsc, and i'm genuinely so grateful for the professors and…read morestaff who have supported me throughout my time here. rene has been an amazing professor and has played such a big part in helping me grow as a sonography student. he is extremely knowledgeable in both echo and vascular, and he genuinely cares about making sure his students understand what they're learning and become better sonographers. he has always been there whenever i needed help, whether it was explaining something again, answering questions, or giving me tips and tricks to improve my scanning. when it came time for me to start my externship, rene was also one of the people who really believed in me and reminded me that i was capable of doing it. he gave me so much advice and helped prepare me for what to expect, which made me feel much more confident going into externship. now that i'm there, i can genuinely see how much of what he taught me has helped prepare me. i've learned so much from him, and i'm extremely grateful that i've had him as my echo and vascular professor. sarah, my student counselor, has also been such an important part of my experience at amsc. she is incredibly supportive and motivational and genuinely wants to see students succeed. whenever i've felt nervous or doubted myself, she has always reminded me of what i'm capable of. especially while preparing for my spi, she encouraged me and reminded me that i knew the information and could do it. being able to share with her when i passed made that accomplishment even more special because she knew how much work went into getting there. she is also someone i've always felt comfortable going to whenever i needed guidance or had a concern, and it truly makes a difference having someone like that in your corner throughout the program. i also want to recognize mrs. rose, suzy, naira, gary, tamara, and leslie. they have all been incredibly kind and knowledgeable and have contributed to making my experience at amsc such a positive one. the front desk staff is also always so kind and welcoming, which is something i really appreciate. there are so many people here who are willing to share their knowledge, answer questions, and help you along the way, and i'm very grateful for that. overall, i'm extremely grateful for my experience at amsc and for the people who have helped me get to where i am. having professors, counselors, and staff who genuinely care about your education, growth, and success makes such a difference. i still have more of my journey ahead of me, but i already feel like i've grown so much as a student and future sonographer. i'm truly thankful for rene, sarah, and everyone at amsc who has been a part of that journey.

Especially when they require you to see a counselor for an educational plan.. the general questions are all things that are available on the website so it's pretty pointless. When I explained it was to make an appointment for an educational plan ... I was told by the representative to call back tomorrow at 8 am in order to schedule an appointment with a counselor for next week. When I said.. yes that's why I'm calling ... to schedule an appointment. She explained I had to call back tomorrow at 8am because the system would not allow her to just schedule it herself . ( what is her purpose ? ) So I called just for no reason. So basically a waste of time. That's actually very stupid and not efficient and they should fix it.
